Supreme Sage Appears

12/19/2025

Calculating the time spent in the void outside this continent, three years had already passed. Naturally, he couldn't afford to waste any more time here.

"Sawyer..." Joe Di tapped the concealment array constructed by Sawyer Walker. Immersed in the Law Pill Sutra, Sawyer was suddenly startled awake within the protective formation.

"Daoist Joe, you're done so quickly?" Sawyer lifted his head, not yet checking how much time had passed.

"It's already been three years. I am now confident I can enter the Chaotic Continent. Do you want to come along?" Joe Di glanced at the jade slip in Sawyer's hand, secretly feeling disdain. Back then, Sawyer complained about suffering a loss, but now he was clearly engrossed in the Law Pill Sutra.

"Daoist Joe, thank you. I thought you wanted my Earthshade Mirage for free, but it turns out you're truly honest." Sawyer Walker expressed his sincere gratitude. In fact, upon receiving the Law Pill Sutra, he realized Joe Di had never intended to take his top-tier technique without compensation.

"That's right, this is the first honest thing you've said. It's best when neither side suffers a loss," Joe Di replied.

Someone as powerful as Sawyer Walker wouldn't stoop to telling blatant lies.

Sawyer Walker put away the Law Pill Sutra and looked toward the emerald continent in the distance. "Daoist Joe, how confident are you now?" he asked.

Joe Di smiled. "I'm fully confident. Even if the Supreme Sage is waiting for me there, I can make sure he doesn't notice me. Your Pathless Relic is likely a spatial artifact, right? Hide inside your spatial treasure and hand the Pathless Relic over to me."

"Alright." Sawyer Walker didn't waste a single word.

His Pathless Relic was indeed a spatial artifact. Now, as he entered his own Pathless Relic, Joe Di's cultivation was still not enough to take it away from him. If Joe Di made even the slightest move, Sawyer would immediately notice. He trusted that Joe Di wasn't foolish enough to covet his Pathless Relic.

Sawyer Walker was straightforward in his actions. Once he agreed, he wasted no time and vanished into the Pathless Relic the next moment. Joe Di grabbed the Pathless Relic, his entire presence fading. He too disappeared from the void soon after.

Unlike before, when he concealed his body, this time Joe Di directly transformed into a cosmic rule.

This was why he said that even if the Supreme Sage came, he wouldn't be able to find him. How many cosmic rules exist in the universe? Each rule is unique. If he entered the Chaotic Continent as a rule, unless the Supreme Sage possessed omnipotent abilities and controlled every cosmic rule, he would never be found.

As for whether the Supreme Sage had mastered all cosmic rules, Joe Di wasn't worried at all. If he were truly that formidable, he would have already left the continent to capture Joe Di.

Around the spot where Joe Di first entered the Chaotic Continent, at least ten cultivators were now stationed. Various protective, trapping, triggering, and killing arrays were set up. Not only a person—even a gust of wind passing through would be bound and forced to reveal its true form.

Although Joe Di dared not extend his divine sense, by transforming into a cosmic rule and merging with the surrounding laws, he still sensed all the restrictions in this space. He couldn't help but feel secretly relieved; if he and Sawyer had tried to enter with just the Pathless Relic, they would probably have been caught by the Supreme Sage by now.

The various trapping and triggering arrays here were indeed powerful, but no matter how strong, they couldn't restrain a cosmic rule. Besides, this cosmic rule's mastery of arrays was also formidable to the extreme.

The cosmic rule Joe Di had transformed into drifted through the many divine senses and trapping arrays without being detected by any cultivator. Joe Di was secretly excited—this method of rule transformation was truly remarkable. Sawyer had underestimated both the Dao and the Earthshade Mirage technique.

If Sawyer truly understood the value of rule transformation, he would never have agreed to the exchange.

Once he succeeded in merging realms, he was determined to spend more time studying the Earthshade Mirage.

Sometimes, things really are just that messed up.

Just as Joe Di was about to break through the final triggering array and enter the continent, several figures rushed in. He didn't need his divine sense to gauge their strength—he knew at least two of them were top experts. At that moment, Joe Di didn't dare move at all, instantly merging into the cosmic rules of the space, not daring to budge.

He didn't even dare to move, let alone extend his divine sense.

Maybe they wouldn't notice the cosmic rule he'd transformed into, but if he dared to sweep with his divine sense, they would likely detect him immediately.

No matter how hard he tried to merge with the surrounding cosmic rules, Joe Di still felt uneasy. What worried him was that these people might have come because of him. If that were true, it meant there was a flaw in his rule transformation. If so, he was in serious trouble.

If someone could sense his transformed rule from such a distance, Joe Di knew without a doubt he was nowhere near their level.

Boom! While Joe Di's mind was racing, a violent fluctuation from artifact collisions echoed, and he felt the surrounding cosmic rules rapidly shifting. Dao resonance began to flow, with waves of killing and trapping force swirling around him.

Joe Di was overjoyed—he realized he'd been overthinking things.

This artifact clash was clearly a battle of spells. It was obvious that among those who had rushed in, one was escaping while the others were in pursuit. The fleeing cultivator hadn't made it out yet and was blocked by a trapping-killing array, then attacked by those behind.

Since it had nothing to do with him, Joe Di concealed himself even deeper. This kind of spell battle was perfect for his escape. He decided that if the fluctuations grew any stronger, he would slip away without hesitation, leaving silently.

"Gui Yan, do you have any shame left? What did I, Bian Jue, ever do to offend you? You're chasing me down for a Rift Dao Token. You already have one, but you want a second? You want everyone in this universe to kneel before you, acknowledge you as the Supreme Sage, and hand over everything to you..." a booming, furious voice roared.

Then Joe Di heard a sharp reply, "Bian Jue, you can leave, no one's stopping you. But you must leave the Rift Dao Token behind. The Rift Dao Token doesn't belong to you alone. If you take it away, how will others escape in the future?"

"Hahaha..." Bian Jue laughed wildly. "Gui Yan, you shameless wretch! The Rift Dao Token I obtained isn't just mine, but everything you get is yours alone. How many times have you used the Rift Dao Token to leave? Why don't you ever say it's not yours then? Bah!"

Joe Di's heart stirred—Rift Dao Token? It seemed Gui Yan was the Supreme Sage who had tried to kill him before. The Rift Dao Token held by Gui Yan was now in Joe Di's possession, so it was understandable that Gui Yan wanted Bian Jue's token as well. It looked like there wasn't just one Rift Dao Token in this universe, but two.

Gui Yan's tone remained calm and measured. "Bian Jue, there are only three Rift Dao Tokens in this universe—one for you, one for me, and one for Nie Jiehen. Nie Jiehen has long disappeared, so only two tokens remain. With so many cultivators in this universe and only two Rift Dao Tokens, if you take one away, how will anyone leave in the future?"

Although Gui Yan's voice was calm, its sharpness sent chills down anyone who heard it.

"Haha..." Bian Jue's laughter rang out again. "Your Ancestor Bian is right here. So what if you've trapped me with your array? Even if I perish with the Rift Dao Token, I won't let it fall into your filthy hands."
