Clash Between Divine Swords

Leon Li smiled. "I don't know. I've only heard the Sect Master talk about it—the details are something only he knows, since only he's ever met them."

"So that's how it is. That means there's still hope for us. Even if the Sect Master can't beat him, he'll find a way to escape," said Miles Mu with a grin.

The others felt the same as Miles Mu. Meanwhile, Evan Yang was still inside the Heaven-Shaker Tower, making his way through the maze.

Evan quickly spotted the divine artifacts not far ahead. He saw five items floating above an altar, and around that altar was a small stream, quietly flowing from an unknown source.

"This place is a little creepy," Evan muttered to himself. He carefully approached the altar, but before he could reach it, a voice suddenly echoed out: "Welcome."

"Someone's here?" Evan was startled. If someone had been here without him noticing, that meant the other party was anything but weak—maybe even very strong.

"Of course there's someone. I've been here the whole time. Ever since you entered the Heaven-Shaker Tower, I've known your every move," the voice replied with a laugh.

"Then why don't you show yourself? Just letting your people get killed by me?" Evan asked curiously, glancing around.

"Him? He was worthless before he even came in. The whole point was to lure you here," the voice laughed.

"That's pretty ruthless. I thought you people from the so-called righteous path were supposed to be all kindness," Evan said with a smirk.

"Kindness? Haha, that's just a front for others. I don't need any of that. But you have the Soul‑Devouring Divine Sword—now that's a surprise. Perfect, I'll take your artifact too," the voice chuckled.

"Want to take me down? Then why not show yourself?" Evan Yang said with a smile.

"I'm right behind you. You just haven't noticed," the voice laughed.

Evan spun around and saw a blurry figure appear before him—no aura, and even his Divine Sense couldn't detect it. He'd never seen a technique like this before. He eyed the figure suspiciously. "You really can't be sensed by Divine Sense?"

"Everyone asks me that before they die. That's right, my technique is that special—you can't sense me, but you're always inside my surveillance field," the other party laughed.

Evan Yang looked at the man's expression and asked, "So what's your position in Golden Heaven Temple?"

"No harm in telling you. I'm the Sect Master. You've killed so many of my people—how should I punish you? Killing you is too easy, but letting you live is intolerable. Luckily, you brought the Soul‑Devouring Divine Sword, the strongest attack blade among all artifacts. Today, it'll be placed on this altar too," the man laughed.

"Don't just talk—come at me if you've got the guts," Evan Yang said.

The man laughed, then flashed behind Evan Yang. When Evan saw the figure vanish, he immediately guessed his opponent was behind him, so he quickly moved—and sure enough, saw a shadow where he'd just been. The shadow laughed, "Your reaction speed is wild."

The shadow vanished again, and Evan Yang didn't dare linger. Whenever his opponent disappeared, he immediately moved to a new spot—otherwise, he'd be the one getting hurt.
