A smile appeared on Henry Underwood's face. I looked at Black Moon, still hesitating whether I could trust him.
I think you can trust me completely. In my view, Infernal Hell is Ethan Zhang, so my loyalty belongs to only one person. Ethan Zhang, isn't that right? And you're Ethan Zhang's wife, Rachel Lan. You have every reason to trust me. I've never harmed you, have I? Besides, if it weren't for me, Lan Yin could never have been resurrected.

I glanced at Black Moon, still unsure whether I should trust him.
"You possess the Coexistence Instinct, which originally belonged to Hell. Or rather, it was born the moment the will of Hell became Zhang Qingyuan. It's one of three core instincts, created to fulfill the plan to swallow the past, future, and present in a single breath."
Black Moon spoke seriously, drawing closer to me. Isabelle Frost did not try to stop him.
"But now you also have the Renewal and Overturn instincts. The Overturn Instinct should have vanished when your father, Martin Lane, was killed by the Wraithlord. But I found the right moment to visit the Living World and met the Heavenly Soul. The Heavenly Soul found Lan Yin and used its power to restore him. Then, Ms. Yi used her power to bring Zhang Zhiqing back to the Living World, breaking the rules to a certain degree. That allowed Lan Yin to return as well, and only then could the BOSS deal with the Wraithlord."
My eyes widened. Hearing all this left me deeply shocked.
"So now, if nothing is done, the other eleven wardens in Hell—besides myself—will do whatever it takes to escape. We already drafted a complete plan to get them out, and I've told them: BOSS wants them to wait for now, because we still need to digest the Wraithlord. But this reassurance is only temporary. If they can't sense BOSS's presence, they'll come to this world, and then another massive war will erupt."

So the only way was to carry out the plan step by step, weaken the Wraithlord’s ghost body, and finally let Lan Yin use the Overturn Instinct to restrain the Wraithlord. Then Hell would consume everything of the Wraithlord, trapping him for good.
"Just how much have you done behind the scenes?"
Hades glared angrily at Black Moon, while Black Moon simply shook his head.
"These plans were discussed with John Chou from the very beginning, and BOSS knew about them too. That’s why he intended to send the wardens into the Living World for the next phase. The reason I’m telling you all this now is simple: The Immortality Society, Emperor God, and the Dark Banquet will be much trickier to deal with in the future. So this plan can’t be carried out yet—at least not for another hundred years."
I looked at Isabelle Frost, and she nodded and spoke.
"It was in the underground palace that I learned all of John Chou’s plans. He said before that the first phase of the battle with the Wraithlord was to destroy his ghost body. Back then, when Zhang Qingyuan hadn’t regained his memory, he met Mona Ouyang. John Chou learned that Mother Goddess Nuwa was going to forge a weapon for Zhang Qingyuan to counter the Wraithlord, so he came up with the plan."
At that time, John Chou said there was no chance of winning in a direct fight. Only through layer upon layer of planning could the Wraithlord truly be defeated—by gradually weakening him. First, the Ghost Sovereigns would work together to break the Wraithlord’s ghost body, then the practitioners would join forces to attack him. That was the first phase and its transition.

"John Chou had been planning this from the very beginning. But the last thing he told me was that, in his whole life, he’d schemed against countless people and ghosts—but the only one he never managed to beat was Xu Fu."
I swallowed, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of Isabelle Frost’s mouth.
"It looks like we won this war, but in truth, the real winner is the Immortality Society."
