The Prince Is Not Happy

That night, after Serena and Simon Sun finished checking the medicines needed for tomorrow, they each returned to their own rooms to rest early and recharge for the next day's free clinic.

Serena yawned, sent Jada Tang and Mira Tang away, then carried her lantern and walked out into the courtyard by herself.

With Holden Cui around, her manor was very safe. But she forgot—security keeps outsiders out, but can't defend against those already inside the Feng residence. She had barely taken a few steps when she saw a shadowy figure standing in the dark.

"Who is it?" Serena lifted her lantern and peered ahead, debating whether to call for the guards, when the shadow stepped out: "It's me."

"You? What are you doing here?" Seeing who it was, Serena relaxed her guard. William was right—this person would never hurt her.

"Mm." Sean Xuan replied, a little awkwardly clearing his throat. "I saw you hadn't come back yet and wanted to check. It's late, and it's not safe for a girl to walk alone at night. Let me walk you back." Worried Serena might refuse, he quickly added, "Don't worry, unless you agree to marry me, I won't force you into anything."

After speaking, Sean Xuan quietly stepped aside, keeping at least three paces between himself and Serena to prove he only wanted to see her safely home, nothing more.

Seeing Serena still hadn't moved, Sean Xuan reminded her again: "Come on, I just want to walk you back to your courtyard, that's all. If you're uncomfortable, I can stand even farther away."

As he finished, he retreated another few steps, widening the distance between them. In the darkness, his eyes shone brightly, full of expectation as he looked at Serena.

With him like this, Serena really didn't know how to refuse. Besides, she didn't want to waste time arguing with Sean Xuan—this kid was just too stubborn.
