Infertility and Being More Shameless Than a Shameless Patient

As for Princess Yao Hua, Dominic Zhai only knew the basics. The information he received was just what everyone knew and could be found on the surface—he was simply a step ahead of most people.

Serena Feng knew Dominic well, and she was aware that she wouldn’t get any useful information out of him—not because he was unwilling, but because he truly didn’t know.

Simon Sun quickly arrived carrying the medicine chest. Serena stepped aside to let him treat Dominic’s wound, while she herself stood by, pondering the recent events.

These incidents seemed unrelated at first glance, but Serena felt things weren’t so simple. Maybe Princess Yao Hua’s death could uncover something—unfortunately, she had no way to examine the scene herself.

Dominic’s hand injury looked frightening, but in reality, it hadn’t damaged muscle or bone. Simon stitched it up quickly and was about to prescribe some medicine when Dominic suddenly pulled him aside and quietly began to talk about his predicament.

The gist was: he kept many women around, yet none could get pregnant. To prove he wasn’t impotent, Dominic shamelessly described his bedroom exploits in graphic detail, using every word he could think of to show off his prowess.

Simon’s face turned a deep shade of purple-red; the more he listened, the worse his expression became.

Why not just talk about the medical issue? Why spell out all those bedroom details—he wasn’t a eunuch from the disciplinary bureau!

Simon looked mortified, trying several times to escape, but Dominic wouldn’t let him go.

Master, save me!

Simon looked pitifully at Serena, hoping she would rescue him from Dominic's grasp.

He hadn’t even been with a woman yet; Dominic’s words were completely lost on him.

“Simon, did you understand? I’m really capable—every night I can wear those women out, and my health is excellent. But even though I try so hard, my concubines still can’t get pregnant. What’s wrong with me? Should I take medicine to fix it? Prescribe me something.” Dominic finally got to the point, but it was a field Simon didn’t understand at all.

Serena was a woman—even if she wasn’t shy about such topics, she wouldn’t discuss male reproductive issues with Simon, especially since it wasn’t her specialty.

Faced with Dominic’s hopeful expression, Simon struggled for a long time before finally saying, "Well... you’d need a doctor to check your pulse to know for sure."

"Then check my pulse—see if there’s a problem. If you need to check down there, that’s fine too." Since they were all men, Dominic didn’t think there was anything wrong with being so direct.

Simon’s face turned so red it looked like it might bleed. He broke free from Dominic’s grip and ran to stand by Serena, looking utterly wronged.

“What’s wrong?” Serena asked with concern.

“Master, save me—there’s a lecherous patient here, and he’s harassing your apprentice.” Doudou could say something like that, but Simon couldn’t, so he just pursed his lips and stayed silent.

Serena frowned and looked at Dominic. “Dominic, are you bullying my apprentice?”

"Huh? No, no, absolutely not!" Dominic protested, feeling wronged.

He was just asking about his condition—what had he done wrong? Why was Simon running away?

"No? Then why would Simon be angry?" Serena didn’t believe her apprentice would lose his temper for no reason.

"I... I..." How could he talk about that sort of thing with a woman? He just couldn’t say it.

Dominic looked to Simon for help.

Young Master Sun, please be kind—just explain to your master that I really didn’t bully you!

Simon was always honest—he’d never frame anyone. He only spoke the truth.

Simon repeated Dominic’s words in summary, but left out the embarrassing parts so as not to dirty his master’s ears.

Oh heavens! Oh earth!

You really can’t let anything go, can you?

Now it was Dominic’s turn to blush and wish he could die from embarrassment.

Simon, do you have to be so well-behaved? Why go into so much detail—I’m not going to praise you for it.

So that’s what this is about…

Of the three, Serena was the calmest. “Young Lord, if you’re sick, you should treat it early. Simon and I aren’t experts in this area—you’d better see an imperial physician. But I advise you not to overdo things in the bedroom; it’s actually bad for fertility.”

But if so many women failed to conceive, it was almost certainly a problem with Dominic’s sperm. This wasn’t her specialty, though.

“Why do you say that? You cured Vincent Su’s kidney deficiency, and Second Madam Hsieh’s infertility. Why say you can’t help me? Are you looking down on me? It’s just a thousand taels of gold—if you cure me, I’ll pay!” Now that it was out in the open, Dominic just went all in, shameless as ever.

“Dominic, what are you saying? Do I look like someone who’s desperate for silver? Do I look like a doctor who only cares about money? Listen to me, Dominic—I’m not that mercenary. I really don’t specialize in this.” Serena was annoyed.

She admitted that demanding a thousand taels of gold before was excessive, but it was circumstantial. She hadn’t mentioned money to anyone since.

When Serena got angry, Dominic backed down and started flattering her. “I was wrong, I was wrong, I really was wrong. I’ll never mention money to you again. But this problem… you really won’t help me?”

He was too embarrassed to talk about this with anyone else. He only trusted Serena enough to be so open.

“I really don’t know how. But if you insist, I’ll give it a try.” Serena didn’t want Dominic to misunderstand, so she compromised.

“Alright, then check my pulse.” Dominic said happily, immediately offering his uninjured hand.

“No need. You can’t diagnose this kind of problem by checking the pulse—I need to examine your semen. Simon, give the Young Lord a bottle so he can provide a sample.” Serena was perfectly calm, but Dominic and Simon were both flustered.

Master...

Serena...

Do you have to be so bold? A woman talking about this without even blushing or skipping a beat—if you don’t care, at least pretend to be a little shy!

“What’s wrong with you two? Turned into statues?”

“No, no, I’m fine.” Dominic quickly looked away, acting subservient, while Simon buried himself in his task.

Gripping the clear glass vial, Dominic grew embarrassed all over again.

The thought of putting ‘that’ in the bottle and having Serena examine it was mortifying.

Dominic couldn’t sit still any longer—he forgot his medicine and bolted from the room.

Serena laughed in satisfaction.

Serves you right for bullying my apprentice.

“Master…” Simon wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, kindly reminding Serena to mind her image.

As a doctor, it really wasn’t right to tease patients like this.

“Ahem…” Serena coughed and spoke earnestly to Simon: “Simon, you didn’t do well today. As doctors, we’ll meet all kinds of strange patients and conditions. You need to learn to stay calm—no matter how unsure you feel inside, you must look confident and composed. Only then will patients trust you and believe they can survive.”

“I understand, Master.” Simon accepted the lesson obediently.

“Don’t let your feelings show on your face. Today you met Dominic, but if it were another patient, they’d never trust you.” Even if you’re shy, keep it to yourself.

“I was wrong, Master.” Simon admitted his mistake, and Serena, unwilling to scold him, patted his shoulder. “It’s good to admit when you’re wrong—don’t worry… Simon, remember what I said: when you meet a shameless patient, you have to be even more shameless.”
