Big Eater

"Millions!"

May Xia was stunned by the number. Her pretty face froze and her eyes widened as she couldn't help blurting out.

Seeing her so shocked, Brian Guang grew even more smug. He smiled at May and said, "May, don’t listen to their nonsense. That price is just for show."

"Someone once tried to hire my cousin for a month as a bodyguard and offered five million, but my cousin didn’t even bother to accept. All these years, he’s just been hanging out with Bro Hu, helping him handle all kinds of trouble."

Before anyone could ask, Brian continued, "Bro Hu is Hugh Hu—third generation of the Hu family in the Jinnan Military District. His grandfather’s a major general, his father’s a major, and he’s currently studying at Peiying High School."

The Hu family is a legendary clan in the Jinnan Military District. In Jinnan, anyone with real influence knows their name.

But to May, all that sounded pretty distant.

Even so, she quickly picked up on the weight of the Hu family just from the looks on everyone’s faces.

"Kid, if you can get the Hu family’s young master to show up, you can pick any car from my shop!"

The man from earlier raised the stakes again.

For businessmen like them, connections are everything. If they could get in with the Grant and Hu families, their futures would be much smoother.

Many of those visiting the Moore family today were hoping to use this chance to build ties, but most just didn’t have the right connections. Money wasn’t really the problem for them.

"I can’t make that call. If I see my cousin later, maybe I’ll ask what he thinks."

Brian glanced around but didn’t rush to agree. The others kept toasting him, one after another, but Brian didn’t touch a drop—and none of them dared get upset.

Just then, a waitress pushed a cart over, stacked high with all kinds of dishes—way more than usual.

"How about I treat everyone to this meal?"

The man, about to head back to his own table, glanced at the cart and realized this meal would be pricey. He spoke up, trying to impress.

"No need. Someone’s already footing the bill—and if you can’t finish, you pay out of pocket, right?" Brian sneered, looking across at Lewis Lu and Evan Lin.

Brian didn’t actually have enough money on his card for this meal, but he wasn’t worried. With this much food, there was no way they could finish it all.

As the waitress piled up dish after dish on the table, people at the other tables finally turned their attention to Evan Lin and Lewis Lu.

"With that much food, are they pigs or something?"

"What a waste!"

"Haha, since Young Master Guang says so, I’ll treat you next time—make sure you show up!" The man laughed, recalling Brian’s intention to embarrass Lewis Lu and Evan Lin, so he dropped the issue and returned to his seat.

But their eyes kept drifting back to this table.

"Sir, all your dishes are here."

After the first cart, the waitress rolled out a second, much larger cart—almost one and a half meters tall, piled high with all kinds of dishes.

"That’s insane!"

Lewis Lu was genuinely startled by the mountain of food.

"Go ahead and eat. I want to see how you two finish all this!" Brian Guang snorted. "If you polish it off, I’ll pay. If not, you’re on your own!"

Lewis glanced at Evan Lin, but Evan just calmly dumped all the dishes on the table straight into the hotpot.

Luckily, the Talent Hall Restaurant hotpot was way bigger than most places—otherwise, there’d be no way to cook that much food at once.

"We’ll help out a bit too." Brian laughed, and Victor Xu and the others picked up their chopsticks.

Talent Hall’s food tasted great, but there was just way too much of it.

After about twenty minutes, Brian and his friends finally put down their chopsticks.

"We’re stuffed. The rest is up to you two." Brian patted his belly, then turned to May Xia, who was burping. "May, don’t force yourself—no need to upset your stomach."

"And if you eat too much, what if there’s not enough left for these two? Right?"

Brian lounged back in his chair.

"Bro Guang’s right. It’s your turn—so eat up! What’s wrong, you two barely touched your food earlier. Or do you think it’s not good enough for you?" Victor Xu grinned, full of disdain.

"Burp..."

Lewis Lu burped, looking miserable.

He’d just been eating with all his might, but now his stomach was stuffed—and they’d only finished half the first round. There were still nine full sets left on the cart!

There’s no way anyone could finish all that. And the total price? A whopping 150,000 yuan!

Lewis Lu figured he’d have to sell a kidney after tonight.

"I really can’t eat any more."

Lewis leaned over to Evan Lin and whispered. Evan just kept eating quietly, moving his chopsticks at a steady pace.

"Come on, believe in yourself! You can do it, right?" Brian Guang grinned, crossing his legs. "If you really can’t, just admit defeat and go pay the bill."

"No money? No problem—just stay and wash dishes." Victor Xu chimed in.

Everyone burst out laughing.

"You can still eat, so eat more. It’s good for you." Evan Lin patted Lewis Lu on the shoulder and smiled.

"I..."

Just as Lewis was about to say he really couldn’t, his stomach suddenly growled.

"I... I suddenly feel kind of hungry."

Lewis paused, confused. His stuffed belly suddenly felt empty, and hunger flooded him.

"Eat!"

Lewis whipped his head around, grabbed his chopsticks, and started devouring food like a tornado.

He ate with lightning speed, shoveling huge mouthfuls in, barely chewing before swallowing.

"Don’t force yourself! If you really can’t, I’ll ask Bro Guang for help. Don’t wreck your stomach." May Xia said, worried.

But Lewis was like a starving ghost reborn—he tore through the whole table’s food like a madman.

"Holy crap! Are you actually a pig?"

Brian Guang was stunned.

Lewis grabbed more food from the carts and dumped it into the hotpot, face flushed with excitement, eating even faster.

"Damn, is he a competitive eater or something?"
