Furylo in the Eye

2/14/2026

The Mute Smith made a few gestures. Deaf watched and said, "That's easy—just don't look in mirrors. You're not some shy bride, after all. That's what the Mute Smith said, not me."

Apothecary took out a mirror and held it up to Quinn Shepherd, observing his reaction. Instantly, Quinn's eyes went blank, and it seemed as if a figure was walking toward him within his gaze. Apothecary quickly put the mirror away, saying, "Avoiding mirrors is simple enough. But what about washing your face? Or what if someone else uses a mirror on Quinn? If a demon or a spy uses a mirror and Quinn glances at it, he'll be caught. There must be plenty of divine arts users in High-Emperor Heaven who've sided with the demons—not just Tianfeng Gou!"

Butcher snatched the mirror from Apothecary and held it up to Quinn Shepherd. Again, Quinn's eyes stared blankly at the glass, and Furylo's figure appeared, this time even closer than before.

Startled, Butcher quickly flipped the mirror over. Only then did Furylo's image vanish from Quinn's eyes.

"Amazing!"

Butcher couldn't help but praise, "Furylo's divine art is truly bizarre—he can actually emerge from within Quinn's eyes! Why not lure him out, gather a dozen gods and demons, and True Gods, and hack him to death? Let's see how he pulls his tricks then!"

Quinn Shepherd shook his head, "That won't work. He doesn't really appear—it's the mirror that triggers his divine art. Once activated, it drags me to his side. He'll never show up in front of us."

Butcher praised again, "He can do even that? Incredible!"

The Mute Smith snatched the mirror and tried it on Quinn Shepherd as well. Again, Quinn couldn't help but stare, and Furylo's figure drew even closer in his eyes.

The Mute Smith quickly flipped the mirror over and solemnly uttered, "Abba!"

Grandpa Blind quickly took the mirror, just about to test it on Quinn Shepherd when Granny Sue flew into a rage and smacked him on the head. She snapped, "You old fools—one more reflection and that three-faced freak will snatch Quinn away!"

Grandpa Blind shouted angrily, "Granny Sue, they all tried it—why am I the only one getting whacked?"

Granny Sue snatched the mirror away. Crippled Joe, eager to try it himself, saw Granny Sue guarding Quinn Shepherd and had to hold back.

Granny Sue was tempted to test the mirror on Quinn Shepherd herself, but in the end, she restrained herself—after all, he was the child she'd raised. Still, she couldn't help feeling a little itchy with curiosity.

Of all the elders in Oldridge Village, Granny Sue and Crippled Joe were the most mischievous.

"So we can't use mirrors, and we can't drag Furylo over—does that mean his divine art will stay in Quinn's eyes forever?" The group was stumped.

Even though they were all masters of divine arts, Furylo's technique was so bizarre and unpredictable that none of them could figure out how to break it.

The Imperial Preceptor of Everpeace and True God Pang Yu walked over. "Friends, you've returned? I was busy organizing the troops and couldn't come to your aid—please forgive me."

"The Imperial Preceptor always has ideas—maybe he'll figure out a solution!"

Everyone quickly explained the situation to the Imperial Preceptor, who was shocked. "Is that so? Let me try!" He pulled out a mirror from his robe, preparing to test Quinn Shepherd.

Butcher, Grandpa Blind, and the others looked on with odd expressions. The Imperial Preceptor, though a middle-aged man, was strikingly handsome and clearly cared about his appearance—he even carried a mirror with him.

Granny Sue clenched her fist, ready to give the Imperial Preceptor a knock on the head.

Seeing this, the Imperial Preceptor set the mirror down and smiled, "Fellow Daoist Sue, if I don't draw out the divine art in his eyes, how can I hope to find a solution? Please, set aside your hostility."

Granny Sue replied, "Just don't take too long with it."

The Imperial Preceptor held up the mirror to Quinn Shepherd and saw Furylo's shadow walking outward in Quinn's pupils. Startled, he quickly covered the mirror and muttered, "What a divine art! This technique is branded right onto Cult Master Quinn's eyes—just one glance and he's caught. Furylo's power is truly vast!"

Granny Sue quickly asked, "Imperial Preceptor, do you have any way to fix this?"

The Imperial Preceptor paced back and forth, hesitating. "Maybe... I should try looking again?"

Granny Sue couldn't hold back any longer and gave him a hard knock on the head. Everyone shuddered—even Emperor Evan wouldn't dare hit the Imperial Preceptor, but Granny Sue did!

The Imperial Preceptor accepted it calmly. "Fellow Daoist Sue, just one glance isn't enough for me to break Furylo's divine art. If I could look a few more times, maybe I'd find a solution."

Granny Sue replied coldly, "And what if you can't break it?"
