Second floor.

Harvey Yang and the man in the suit listened nervously to the commotion downstairs. Soon, they heard a powerful crashing sound. When they turned to look at the staircase from the first floor, they saw Evan Lin walking up slowly.

"You... Where's the Daoist!?"

Seeing Evan Lin come up, the suited man was so scared he stuttered and couldn't get a word out.

Next to him, Harvey Yang's face was ashen, like a man facing death.

"He's dead."

Evan Lin replied coolly, looking at the two of them with an unhurried air: "Harvey Yang, right? You two have some guts."

Hearing Evan Lin's words, both Harvey Yang and the suited man felt their hearts sink.

The Daoist had just shown off that infant ghost in front of them—it was terrifyingly strong. Harvey Yang even felt that the infant ghost was far fiercer and more powerful than the three female spirits they'd seen before.

That's why he took such a risk, hoping the Daoist could help wipe out Evan Lin for good.

If Evan Lin were out of the picture, the shantytown redevelopment project would finally have a breakthrough. The contracts they signed before could just be snatched back and torn up without consequence.

But what they didn't expect was that the Daoist, who'd been so confident, actually died in just over ten minutes?

And what about that powerful infant ghost?

Harvey Yang's face kept changing. Staring at Evan Lin, he was terrified, but as a seasoned businessman, he'd weathered plenty of storms. He took a deep breath to steady himself, forced a smile, and finally spoke: "Well, young man, I owe you an apology for all this. You injured my son and cut off my income, but after tonight, let's call all our grudges settled, what do you say?"

"I promise, as the general manager of my real estate company, that I'll never target you or your mother again. In fact, I'm willing to personally pay for a new apartment for your mother, as compensation for all this. How does that sound?"

Harvey Yang plastered a smile on his face as he looked at Evan Lin.

He's a businessman—his first instinct in a crisis is to trade benefits. No matter what, he just couldn't figure out this teenager in front of him.

It seemed like no matter how many people he called in, none of them could beat this kid.

What Harvey regretted most was not getting the Old Immortal Sage himself. If he'd known, he would've invited the master—this disciple was useless.

"Oh? You want to negotiate?" Evan Lin looked at Harvey Yang, raising his eyebrows slightly.

"Of course, of course. Anyone who does business has their price." Harvey Yang smiled, hearing Evan Lin's tone and sensing a chance to bargain. He relaxed a little inside.

The suited man beside him nodded vigorously. "Yes, yes! Boss Yang is always generous. And honestly, this whole thing really is our fault."

"Plus, I guarantee! What happened tonight between you and that Daoist downstairs will never reach the Old Immortal Sage's ears!"

The suited man hurried to add this.

Harvey Yang quickly chimed in, "That's right! The Old Immortal Sage really is a legendary figure. The one who fought you just now was his disciple."

"If the Old Immortal Sage finds out what happened to his disciple, he'll probably be furious." Harvey Yang thought fast, and this idea helped him relax a bit more.

No matter what, the teenager in front of him had probably killed the Daoist. Even if he hadn't, the Daoist was surely badly injured by now.

Whether Evan Lin had just beaten up the Daoist or killed him, either way, he’d attacked the Old Immortal Sage’s disciple.

And the Old Immortal Sage was always shrouded in mystery and said to possess great powers. Nobody wanted to provoke him lightly, and he was notorious for fiercely protecting his own. If he learned about this, he might even come down the mountain himself to wipe Evan Lin out.

Right now, Harvey Yang was bringing up the Old Immortal Sage as a backup plan—a bargaining chip in these negotiations.

"Are you threatening me?" Evan Lin pulled out a chair and sat down, eyeing Harvey Yang and the suited man with amused interest. He narrowed his eyes, his expression playful.

"How could that be a threat? This is just business—a fair deal." Harvey Yang grinned. "Besides, the Old Immortal Sage lives right in Fenghua Mountain near Zhaoyu Town, not far from Whitewood County. You must've heard at least some stories about him, right?"

"Rumor has it he can command gods and ghosts, summon wind and rain, see through all illusions—his power is limitless."

Harvey Yang grinned wider. In his eyes, the fact that Evan Lin was willing to talk meant he was at least a little afraid. That made Harvey relax, and the tense atmosphere eased up a bit.

"So, by your logic, how much do you think your life—and his—are worth?" Evan Lin looked at Harvey Yang with a cold gaze, then shook his head. "No, actually, how much is your whole family's life worth?"

"My whole family's life!?"

Harvey Yang's smile froze. His heart skipped a beat, but he forced a laugh. "Haha, you sure know how to joke. The Yang family is one of the biggest in Whitewood County. If you wiped us all out, you wouldn't gain anything—and besides, you couldn't get away, either."

"A smart guy like you wouldn't do something so self-destructive."

But as soon as Harvey Yang finished, he felt a sudden chill behind him—a freezing, bone-deep cold that wrapped around his whole body.

The suited man, who had just started to relax, glanced over and saw something behind Harvey Yang. He let out a terrified cry and fell hard onto the floor.

He tried to run, but had barely taken two steps when he heard faint, mocking laughter. Instantly, two beautiful female spirits grabbed him.

Harvey Yang sensed something and spun around. He saw the female ghost he'd met in the car before, smiling sweetly at him with a chilling look in her eyes.

"Ah!"

Harvey Yang's face went completely white with terror.

Evan Lin, who had been sitting, now stood up and walked slowly over to Harvey Yang. He looked at him coldly and said, "The moment you decided to go after my mom, your life started counting down. Even if the King of Hell erased your name from the Book of Life and Death, I'd still bury you in hell myself, so you never get reincarnated."

"And now you even tried to threaten me?"

Evan Lin sneered and turned away, waving his hand. "That Old Immortal Sage you mentioned—if he doesn't come for me, I'll go up the mountain myself. If he lets his disciple run wild, he deserves to be killed too."

"As for you two, your lives end here."

"Don't worry, Harvey Yang. Your two sons, Brandon Yang and Brian Yang, will join you soon. At least you'll have company on the road to the underworld."

A chilly wind rose. In the distance, the sunset burned red as blood.

Behind Evan, Harvey Yang and the suited man died without even managing a scream.

"Clean up the scene when you're done."

Evan Lin gave the order, and the three female spirits drifted into the hall to tidy up.

At that moment, his phone rang.

Evan Lin pressed the answer button.

"It's fine, Mom. I'm coming home now."

"Yeah, I'll eat at home."
