Cecilia Gu didn't look up at Charles Yin. Instead, she pulled out her phone and started scrolling through her recently expanded social circle, searching for a suitable match for Charles.
"Once we've sorted out our own affairs, we'll be ready to remarry. That'll be a good time to find you a suitable girl—it's about time you settled down," Cecilia said as she flipped through her contacts. "Miles is already so grown up. As his uncle, you should get moving too."
Charles's eyes dimmed, but he forced a smile. "I'm really not in a hurry. I don't want those women who are only after the Yin family's money."
"Having money for people to covet is a strength. The real problem is if they don't even care about the money!" Charles Yin added, poking fun.
Charles felt even more frustrated.
Cecilia turned to Charles Yin and asked, "When are we leaving?"
Charles Yin thought for a moment and said, "Let's go on the weekend. It'll give us time to prepare. I have no idea what kind of test the old man will throw at me this time, so it's best to be ready for anything."
Cecilia nodded. "Alright, you two head back first. I'll go arrange for some gifts to bring along."
Charles Yin nodded in agreement.
Cecilia was pretty familiar with the Mo family's preferences, so letting her choose the gifts for the visit was definitely the best option.
After dinner, the three of them went their separate ways.
Charles Yin went back to his villa, while Charles Yin waited at home for Cecilia to return.
The assistants left a Porsche sports car for Cecilia, and Assistant Wang accompanied her to find someone to customize the gifts.
Every gift for the Mo family had to be specially customized—only then could it show the giver’s sincerity.
Wang was a truly competent assistant; whenever Cecilia couldn't decide, he would sincerely offer suggestions for her to choose from.
While Cecilia was busy, Charles Yin headed home first.
As soon as he entered, Charles Yin said to the butler waiting at the door, "I'm going to rest in my room for a bit. Let me know when Madam comes back."
"Yes, young master," the butler replied with a smile.
He’d wasted too much time in the Southern Hemisphere recently, so these days, Charles Yin had to focus on clearing his backlog and then quickly wrap up the rest, making it easier to set off for Y Province on the weekend.
He’d left home before dawn this morning and had been busy all day, only finding time now to come home and have a meal with Cecilia.
Now, Charles Yin does his best to come home for dinner whenever he can.
Those three years apart were unbearable for Charles. Now, he wishes every day could be spent together with his family, never apart for even a minute.
Angela Ma didn’t leave. She told Aunt Zhang she still had things to discuss with Cecilia Gu, so she wanted to wait for her here.
Aunt Zhang saw that Cecilia had just met with Angela Ma, so she didn’t think much of it. As long as Angela didn’t wander or cause trouble, she let her be.
At that moment, Angela noticed a servant carrying a glass of freshly squeezed juice upstairs, about to deliver it to Charles Yin. Angela quickly approached, putting on a flattering smile and said, "Let me take it up for you."
The servant glanced at Angela and replied, "Sorry, but Mr. Yin’s room isn’t somewhere just anyone can enter."
Angela Ma gritted her teeth in frustration.
But there’s no way Angela would give up so easily.
She was determined to find a chance to prove herself.
After the servant delivered the juice, they quickly left.
Angela Ma took advantage of everyone’s distraction, hurried up the stairs, and came to Charles Yin’s bedroom door. She tried to open it, only to discover it had a fingerprint lock.
Anyone whose fingerprint isn’t registered can’t get in at all!
Angela could only leave disappointed.
Standing at the villa entrance, surrounded by luxury, Angela thought of the man lying in that room—her idol, Charles Yin—and felt her heart race.
Just then, her phone rang. Angela saw the caller ID, instinctively wanted to hang up, but after a moment, she answered, "Brother? Did you need something?"
"Why haven’t you gone home yet?" Ethan Yin’s voice already carried a hint of annoyance. "What are you still doing over there?"
Today, Ethan Yin felt something was off with his younger sister, Angela.
He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but it seemed like his little sister had changed somehow.
"I... I..." Angela stammered, unable to get the words out.
"I’ll come pick you up," Ethan Yin said, then hung up right away.
