Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil voiced exactly what everyone was thinking. All eyes turned to Vice Sect Master Shangguan, waiting to hear his answer.
"There are several extremely powerful savage beasts inside the Origin Worldstone. Our Heavenblade Sect ancestors placed them there specifically to temper our disciples. Now that this fiery red glow has appeared, it’s clear someone has encountered one of those beasts."
"These savage beasts have at least late-stage God-Emperor Realm strength. Anyone who runs into one is basically facing certain death. I don’t know who’s so unlucky this time—hopefully it’s not that kid," Vice Sect Master Shangguan said.
If Vice Sect Master Shangguan hadn’t said anything, people might not have been so anxious. But now everyone’s nerves were stretched even tighter—especially Lena Zhong, who was worried sick. If Evan Chu really was the one who’d encountered the beast, things would be bad. She even had the urge to rush into the Origin Worldstone herself to check.
"Late-stage God-Emperor Realm? You can’t be serious—how could such terrifying beasts exist in there? Wouldn’t that mean everyone who enters is doomed? Why don’t you just wipe them out?" Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil asked anxiously.
"We’d love to wipe them out, but the Origin Worldstone imposes strict limitations. No one at God-Emperor Realm or higher can enter, and God-Venerable Realm experts are even more restricted. Even if we wanted to kill those beasts, we’re powerless to do so."
"Once a savage beast appears, the time flow inside the Origin Worldstone gets thrown into chaos. We’ll have to wait at least ten more days to see them come out. That means they’ll be trapped inside for about half a year. Normally, only those in the God-King Realm can end up in the beast’s territory; God-Lord Realm contestants can exit much faster," Vice Sect Master Shangguan explained.
Hearing this made everyone even more nervous. Spending half a year in a place with late-stage God-Emperor Realm beasts was practically suicide—only a handful would survive.
"Isn’t there any way to solve this? Can’t you bring them all back?" Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil pressed.
"There’s nothing we can do. Inside, they have to rely on themselves. Unless someone triggers a blood-lead, but as we told them before, you can only use the blood-lead once your token count reaches fifty—otherwise it won’t work. So all we can do now is wait and hope there aren’t too many casualties," Vice Sect Master Shangguan said helplessly.
Blue-Shade God-Venerable’s expression darkened, but he said nothing. He firmly believed Evan Chu would return safely—after all, Evan wasn’t ordinary; he was the God Realm’s true favored son.
Lena Zhong was worried, but she also had faith in Evan Chu. She knew he could turn invisible and burrow underground—both crucial survival skills. If he made it out this time, she’d do everything she could to keep him by her side and would fight with all her strength to stop him from becoming Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil’s son-in-law.
Everyone outside was anxious, but Evan Chu himself wasn’t bothered by the savage beast’s appearance. As the Primordial Dragon, he didn’t fear any member of the Dragon Clan. Maybe this Fire Dragon’s arrival would help him solve some of the mysteries in his heart.
Another thunderous dragon roar echoed overhead. "Why does this guy keep howling? Does he really think that sounds good?" Evan Chu muttered to himself.
A few breaths later, a massive Fire Dragon appeared before Evan Chu. The fiery glow around it flashed, and it transformed into a middle-aged man. "Human, why have you trespassed on my territory? Are you plotting something against me? You’d better tell the truth, or I’ll swallow you whole!"
Evan Chu glanced at the middle-aged man the Fire Dragon had become. The aura rolling off him showed he was at least a God-Emperor Realm powerhouse. Facing such a strong opponent, Evan knew he wasn’t certain to win, but he showed no sign of fear.
"Fire Dragon, you see me and don’t kneel in worship? What exactly are you thinking?" Evan Chu said coolly.
The Fire Dragon paused, suspicion written all over his face as he stared at Evan Chu. "Kid, you dare order me to worship you? Who do you think you are? A mere God-Lord Realm ant dares to run wild in front of me? You must have a death wish! Fine, I’ll grant it!"
Evan Chu immediately retorted, "Are you sure you won’t regret it? Can’t you see my true identity?" As he spoke, the aura of the Primordial Dragon erupted from his body, surging toward the Fire Dragon.
The Fire Dragon had planned to kill Evan Chu and go back to his lair to cultivate, but when Evan’s overwhelming aura erupted, the Fire Dragon’s soul was struck by fear. His whole body started trembling uncontrollably.
This wasn’t just fear—it was instinctive submission, something born into his soul. The Fire Dragon was stunned, eyes wide as he stared at Evan Chu. "Who exactly are you? Why do you have such a powerful Dragon Clan aura? This feels like the Primordial Dragon’s presence."
"You’re right—it is the Primordial Dragon’s aura. Good thing you recognize it. So, are you still thinking of swallowing me now?" Evan Chu said, then let out a dragon roar of his own, startling the Fire Dragon into retreat.
"How can this be? The Primordial Dragon fell in the War of the Gods long ago—how could he reappear now? Who are you, really?" the Fire Dragon asked, still baffled.
"Who am I? I am the Primordial Dragon. What, you see my current weakness and think you can rebel? Have you forgotten the difference between ruler and subject? Or are you still hoping to swallow me?" Evan Chu said sternly, staring straight into the Fire Dragon’s soul.
The Fire Dragon was at a loss. He did want to kill Evan Chu, but something deep within resisted. "Why are you here? This isn’t a place you should be," he said.
Seeing the Fire Dragon’s attitude soften, Evan Chu replied, "I have my reasons for coming. Since you’re part of the Dragon Clan, you should know why I’m here. Our clan is in decline—we need every hand we can get, yet you’re hiding here instead of helping revive the Dragon Clan. What are you thinking?"
"Of course I want to leave, but this space has powerful restraints. No matter what I do, I can’t get out. Are you here for me?" the Fire Dragon asked.
"That’s right—I came for you. The God Realm is in turmoil, and the Dragon Clan needs revival. As a member of the clan, you should know that," Evan Chu said, launching into his signature persuasive routine.
"I may be part of the Dragon Clan, but I’m powerless here—I simply can’t leave. Is there anything a king can do?" the Fire Dragon asked, now addressing Evan Chu differently.
But Evan Chu knew the Fire Dragon wasn’t truly submitting—only by revealing his Primordial Dragon form could he earn genuine allegiance. Besides, it had been ages since he’d transformed; maybe now was the time to see what would happen, and perhaps awaken some ancient memories…
