Orderly Yet Rambling

The slap landed so suddenly that Clara Night was left stunned for several seconds, and the entire crowd around them held their breath. For some reason, everyone felt that this plain-looking woman radiated a strangely powerful aura, so the whole room fell silent.

"Waa..." After a few seconds of shock, Clara erupted into a shrill, wailing scream that made everyone frown in annoyance. She looked so delicate and ladylike, always claiming to be a noblewoman—so why did her crying sound so ugly and grating?!

"You... You ugly freak, how dare you hit me? Adrian, she bullied me, she bullied me, wuwuwu!" Clara Night grabbed Adrian Night's arm and wailed even louder.

Adrian Night was genuinely stunned by Ivy Shen's sudden slap. Sure, he knew his sister could be way out of line with her words, but he hadn't expected Ivy to actually strike back. For a moment, he just stared, wanting to see what wild thing this woman would do next.

"What are you looking at? I just hit your sister—are you going to kill me for it?" Ivy Shen stared at Adrian Night without a hint of fear.

"Adrian, say something! She hit me, you have to teach her a lesson for me—wuwu, it hurts so much..." Honestly, Clara Night was pretty good at martial arts herself, but she had no intention of fighting back. First, she wanted to win everyone's sympathy, and second, she wanted her brother to step in for her.

Hearing this, Adrian Night looked at Ivy Shen but said nothing. In that moment, even he wasn't sure what he was thinking—he was suddenly curious to see what else she would say.

"Hahaha!" Ivy Shen burst out with a sharp, mocking laugh. To her, this venomous snake was nothing but a walking iceberg. Now that she'd smacked his precious little sister, he was probably itching to deal with her. Whatever—if she was already in hot water, she might as well roast this clueless brat good and proper before she got herself killed!

"What are you laughing at?" Clara Night glared at her in annoyance.

"I'm laughing at how stupid you are," Ivy Shen snorted coldly. She'd already been forced into this corner—wasn't she practically knocking on death's door anyway?

"Stupid? You actually called me stupid?" For the first time, Clara Night's face twisted with rage. Besides her brother—who occasionally showed her a bad attitude—who else dared talk to her like this?!

"Yep, I called you stupid—so what? Take a good look at yourself!" Ivy Shen spun in front of Clara, arms spread wide, putting on a show. "You look all grown up, but you talk like a toddler and throw tantrums like a spoiled princess. At your age, you should be home serving your parents or out hunting for a husband—not hanging off your brother like a lost puppy every single day. Come on, he's already married!"

"Ha! What a joke. Married? He only married you because he was forced to. How could an ugly freak like you possibly deserve my brother?"

"Forced? Go on then, force a hottie to marry you—I dare you! Yeah, I'm an ugly freak, but who says ugly chicks can't snag a handsome guy?" Ivy Shen flashed a cheeky grin at the crowd. "Ladies, real love isn't about having a pretty face—it's about what's inside! I'm nothing to write home about, but I still bagged two drop-dead gorgeous husbands. I bet every single one of you beauties here is even prettier inside than out, and trust me, you'll find guys even hotter than mine!"

Hearing this, all the women immediately chimed in, criticizing Clara Night. To them, Ivy Shen's words were a real confidence boost.

"You... You really think my brother likes you? You think he'll spend his whole life with you?" Clara Night shouted angrily as she saw the crowd siding with Ivy.

"I don't know if your brother will spend his whole life with me," Ivy Shen said confidently, "but I do know he'll definitely never spend his life with you!"
