At this moment, beneath her was a mess of blood and flesh, with splatters staining the floor—an utterly shocking sight. Shawn Young, his mind finally clear, was horrified and deeply guilty about how his "Heavenly Tribulation" had left her so ravaged. His heart softened, and he released his hand from her mouth, speaking in a gentle, remorseful voice: "Sergeant Chung—I'm so sorry—I didn't mean for this to happen!"
The woman was none other than Sergeant Mandy Chung from the PTU. Her face was pale, eyes shut, her smooth body trembling, cheeks streaked with tears and twisted in pain. Hearing Shawn Young’s casual "sorry," Mandy’s fury flared instantly. She opened her eyes, glared at him viciously, and spat, "You animal!"
"Uh—don’t, don’t be like that!" Shawn Young saw she was about to explode again, quickly covered her mouth, and carefully said, "Sergeant Chung, I know you must really hate me right now! But—this is all a misunderstanding! Maybe you won’t believe me, but there’s just no way to explain it all at once. How about this—you promise me, don’t start screaming, okay? You’re an innocent woman, and something like this would make anyone furious, but if word gets out, it’ll really hurt your reputation and future! Think about it—and you’re a cop! If this gets out, it’ll seriously affect your career! I’m not threatening you, I’m just trying to look out for you. Promise me, don’t shout, and I think we can talk this out—"
"Mmm—mmm—" Mandy Chung’s expression flickered as she listened. What Shawn Young said wasn’t entirely wrong, and being competitive and proud, she thought it over and nodded, agreeing to his suggestion for now.
"Alright—we can talk." Seeing Mandy Chung temporarily back down, Shawn Young let go of her mouth, but kept himself close just in case she suddenly lashed out again.
Sure enough, once his hand was released, Mandy didn’t start yelling or making a scene. Instead, her eyes burned with anger as she glared coldly at Shawn Young, making his heart skip a beat.
After a moment’s hesitation, Shawn Young braced himself and asked, "Sergeant Chung, how did you get into Rainie Cheng’s apartment? You scared me—I thought you were a burglar!"
Mandy Chung’s eyes widened with fury. She spat, "Are you kidding? Rainie’s my cousin—we’re super close, so of course I have a key! My family lives way out in Sha Tau Kok, so after work I often crash here. You, on the other hand, are the real creep—showing up out of nowhere like a damn thief!"
"Oh—so that’s it! Rainie never told me. Looks like this really is one huge misunderstanding!" Shawn Young hadn’t expected that at all.
"Misunderstanding? Misunderstand my ass! You bastard! You pervert, you animal—you ruined me! I was a good, innocent woman, and now you’ve destroyed that! You’re not even human!" Mandy Chung’s anger only grew as she spoke, but she kept her voice low—she knew if she screamed, this "beast" Shawn Young would just gag her again, or worse.
"Uh—Sergeant Chung, I admit I’m a jerk! I—I took your virginity, ruined your innocence, but—I swear, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen, there’s a reason for all of it!" Shawn Young explained, his face burning with embarrassment.
"Hmph—you’re just a beast, clearly just wanted to take advantage of me! Don’t give me that ‘reason’ crap! Stop pretending to be the good guy; men like you make me sick!" Mandy Chung’s anger flared again, and she let loose a fresh round of curses.
"Sergeant Chung, you can curse me all you want, but—how can I make you believe me? Or, is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Shawn Young was at a loss, and since he knew he’d wronged her, he could only ask softly.
"Make it up to me?! Are you kidding?! How do you make up for a woman’s innocence? With what? You’re just a mainland pretty boy—only my cousin would be dumb enough to fall for you. If it were me, I’d slap you dead and stomp you for good measure!" Mandy Chung snapped, her curses growing more vicious.
Shawn Young was getting roasted nonstop, and Mandy had hit his sore spot by calling him a useless pretty boy—and even dragged innocent Rainie Cheng into it. As the saying goes, even a clay Buddha has a temper, and Shawn was no exception. Once his bottom line was crossed, his anger shot straight up.
Shawn Young’s face darkened. He said coldly, "Enough! I’ve been giving you respect, trying to talk this out, but you just keep going on and on. I told you I didn’t mean for this to happen! You don’t believe me, and I can’t explain it right now. Take it out on me if you want, but leave your cousin out of it—she’s got nothing to do with this! And—she’s my woman. My principle is—if anyone dares mess with my woman, they’ll pay a heavy price!"
"Uh—you—" Mandy Chung saw Shawn Young’s cold expression and, for some reason, felt a chill run through her. She suddenly became afraid and didn’t dare curse him anymore, just pouted and her eyes turned red.

Seeing Mandy Chung cowed by his aura, Shawn Young decided to strike while the iron was hot: "I’ll be honest with you—besides your cousin, I’ve got plenty of other women!"
"What—how could you!" Mandy Chung was shocked.
"Hmph—why not? I’ve got the skills to give all my women a good life. In this world, it’s survival of the fittest—powerful guys have wives and mistresses everywhere. Not just corrupt officials—even in Hong Kong, tons of men keep side chicks and lovers! The world’s unfair, and so-called ‘fairness’ is just a tool for those in power to fool the masses!" Shawn Young said fiercely.
"Uh—well—" Mandy Chung couldn’t find a comeback. She knew Shawn Young’s words were harsh but mostly true. In fact, her own father kept a young mistress on the mainland and often pressured her mother for a divorce. That’s why she rarely went home after work.
Seeing her hang her head, Shawn Young continued, "And—your cousin already knows I have other women, but she still loves me! I can guarantee—aside from official status, I can give her a happy life!"
"What—you mean my cousin knows you have other women? She’s not mad? She doesn’t make a fuss?" Mandy Chung stared in disbelief.
"Uh—saying she’s not mad would be a lie, but she loves me, so she puts up with it. She’s smart and knows how to handle things! That’s what I love most about her. So, no matter what happens in the future, as long as I’m alive, I’ll take care of her for life—unless she stops loving me." Shawn Young said emotionally.
