When Will You Marry Fifth Highness
"What did His Majesty ask of the Divine Lord?" Lucia Lu asked curiously.
"He wants our Divine Lord to come regularly and teach us spell arrays!" Mia Quinn grinned, looking clever as ever. "My aunt says the Celestial Emperor has been eyeing a few of our Southern Realm's grand arrays for ages—he just wants to steal our techniques!"
Lucia Lu laughed and ruffled her hair, saying, "Honestly, I think that’s pretty likely!"
Mia Quinn glanced at Lucia Lu, her cheeks turning a bit red.
In this world, only two people had ever ruffled her hair.
One was her Divine Father.
The other was Lucia Lu.
She’d done it back when they were in the Heavenly Moon Empire.
Now, she did it again.
It made Mia feel all warm inside.
Mia Quinn flashed a mischievous grin and asked, "Sister Lucia, when are you marrying Fifth Highness?"
Lucia Lu: "Huh??"
"My Divine Father says you two are a perfect match," Mia Quinn continued. "He even said we might be drinking your wedding wine soon!"
Lucia Lu: "..."
"Pfft!" Luna Lian, who was walking beside Lucia, burst out laughing at her sister's expression.
Lucia Lu shot her a glare.
Luckily, just then a group of Phoenix Clan members walked over.
They swept Mia Quinn away, crowding her in the middle and bombarding her with questions.
In the Phoenix Clan, women rule and men take a back seat.
Even though she was just a daughter of a concubine, Mia’s status was higher than her legitimate brother Harvey Quinn.
Plus, since Divine Lord Tanya Quinn hasn’t married or had children yet, as her direct niece, Mia Quinn holds the highest status among the Southern Realm’s younger royals.
So, she’s pretty popular.
Lucia Lu let out a sigh of relief—kids really do say the wildest things.
"Sis! What happened down there? How come you’re suddenly getting married and your own sister didn’t even know?" Luna Lian teased with a bright laugh.
Lucia Lu quickly clapped a hand over her mouth.
Seriously, she had no idea how these misunderstandings with Fifth Highness kept piling up...
"Divine Maiden." Just then, Darren Xuan walked over to her.
"Darren?" Lucia Lu asked, "Is something wrong?"
"My mother’s illness has flared up again," Darren Xuan said. "Could I ask you to take another look at her?"
"It’s acting up again?" Lucia Lu frowned. "That’s odd! The medicine I gave her last time shouldn’t have let the Scalescourge Poison relapse so quickly—even if it couldn’t cure it completely."
"I'm no healer, and honestly, I don't really understand medicine," Darren Xuan admitted. "But I hope Divine Maiden can take another look at her."
Lucia Lu nodded, "Alright! When should we go?"
"I shouldn't interrupt your class," Darren said, "but I really can't stand seeing my mother suffer. Could we ask His Majesty for leave this afternoon and go to Returning Rainbow Mountain together?"
Lucia Lu nodded, "Sure."
So they went to inform the Celestial Emperor and left together for Returning Rainbow Mountain.
Meanwhile, Sean Shaw sat through more than half the class and still hadn't seen Lucia Lu anywhere.
Finally, he couldn't help but send a sound transmission to Adrian Drake: "Where's she gone?"
Adrian, about to cram for the new exam, was buried in his books. Hearing the transmission, he looked up and only then realized Lucia Lu wasn't there.
He shook his head, "No idea."
So Sean sent a sound transmission to the dozing Celestial Emperor: "Father Emperor."
"Hmm?" The Celestial Emperor woke up, still groggy.
"Where are Lucia Lu and Darren Xuan?"
"Oh! Darren's mother fell ill, so he took Lucia Lu down to help treat her," the Celestial Emperor replied.
Sean's gaze darkened, and he said nothing.
The Celestial Emperor glanced at his son's face and clicked his tongue, "What's with that look? You look like you're about to eat someone!"
