Legends of the End of the Sky

2/14/2026

The Lord of the Deep Beasts couldn't utter a single word, but Evan Yang wasn't worried. He knew this was just a clone. Sure enough, soon there were noises from outside the cave—nine figures gathered outside, each one a Spirit-Wandering expert, some clones, some their true bodies.

Leading the charge was the Lord's true body. He forced open the cave entrance, glaring at Evan Yang and shouting, "Kid, let go of my clone or you'll never leave this place!"

Isn't he supposed to be the savior? Wasn't he poisoned? Why is he attacking the Lord now? The spirit beasts, unsure of the reason, watched Evan Yang with suspicion.

Right now, the Lord of the Deep Beasts didn't care whether Evan Yang was poisoned or not. He knew Evan was here to stir up trouble—his clone had already been handled. If he wasn't worried about Evan being too strong, he wouldn't have called all the Spirit-Wandering experts over.

At this moment, everyone gathered outside was a Spirit-Wandering expert from this region.

Evan Yang stepped out slowly, smiling. "So, you all are the masters of this place?"

"That's right. Why are you talking so much nonsense? Don't think you can wipe out your mistakes just by acting like this." The Lord of the Deep Beasts snorted coldly.

The other spirit beasts looked at Evan Yang and the Lord of the Deep Beasts in confusion.

Evan Yang just smiled. "Good, then you must know a lot about the End of the Sky, right?"

Why is he asking about the End of the Sky? The spirit beasts stared at Evan Yang, puzzled. The Lord, however, grew furious. "Everyone, keep quiet. Attack with me—let's take him down!"

The Lord gave the order, and none of them dared disobey. They figured they'd take down the intruder first and ask questions later.

So all nine rushed forward, trying to subdue Evan Yang. But among the spirit beasts here, the Lord of the Deep Beasts was the strongest at late-stage Spirit-Wandering, while the others were only at mid or early stage. To Evan, they posed no real challenge. In just a moment, he used his superior speed to take care of them all.

Looking into the cave, ten spirit beasts lay sprawled on the ground. Except for the Lord's true body, everyone's mouths had been sealed shut.

The spirit beasts were terrified. Evan Yang's sudden burst of power made it clear he was no ordinary human—and even the Lord thought the same.

Evan Yang grinned. "Go ahead. Tell me everything you know about the End of the Sky."

"You..." The Lord was speechless. Seeing all his tribe's strongest spirit beasts defeated, he'd lost his usual pride.

"Once you finish talking, I'll let you all go." Evan Yang said with a smile.

"Kid, don't think you're so amazing just because of this. Let me tell you, nobody but me can cure that poison." The Lord of the Deep Beasts snorted coldly.

"That's none of your concern." Evan Yang replied with a smile.

"Fine, you've got guts. I'll tell you some of the rumors about the End of the Sky," the Lord said.

Evan Yang listened closely, afraid to miss a single word. The Lord sounded important, so he paid extra attention.

The End of the Sky has been here forever. The spirit-beast tribe has always stuck around, so they've kept some old stories.

People from the continent always went to the End of the Sky, but nobody ever came back—or if they did, they lost their minds. No one had a good ending.

But this time, the Lord said something that really caught Evan Yang’s attention. Their records say that ages ago, a few people came out from the End of the Sky—super strong and totally out of place. But it only happened a handful of times, and then stopped.

The thing that shocked Evan Yang most? A swarm of insects once burst out from inside, like a flood pouring from a hole.

Later, everyone on the continent teamed up to drive the insects into the Death Crystal Field—the most mysterious place. The master controlling the insects vanished for some unknown reason.

The word 'insects' made Evan Yang think of that weird fiend. He muttered to himself, "Did that monster come from the End of the Sky? And did he bring the ancestor of those insects too?"

Even so, without the fiend admitting it, Evan Yang couldn’t be sure. Maybe the monster was from the continent and just ended up controlling the insects.

A bunch of ideas flashed through Evan Yang’s mind. When the Lord finished talking, Evan snapped back: "So the End of the Sky really is that scary?"

"Eight or nine out of ten never come back. Even if they do, they're nuts. What do you think?" the Lord said, totally serious.

Evan Yang had heard all kinds of stories about the End of the Sky being a death zone. But that just made him want to go more. The Snow Wraith said you might find the next realm—or even immortals—inside.

It was just a guess, but even thinking about it made Evan Yang excited. If it was true, hope was right in front—and immortality wouldn’t just be a legend anymore.

"Alright, I promised I'd let you go, so I will." Evan Yang smiled after getting what he wanted, then released them one by one.

Once freed, the spirit beasts stayed alert, afraid Evan Yang might attack again.

Evan Yang just smiled. "I'm off."

"Kid, you'd better hope that poison kills you!" the Lord yelled angrily from behind.

Evan Yang was already heading back. The spirit beasts pressed the Lord for answers, but he had no clue what to say. Frustrated, he shooed everyone away and hid.

After leaving the mountain range, Evan Yang went to the other side. Lana Situ had tried to cross this mountain before, and that's how she met the Spirit-Plume Wanderer.

This time, Evan Yang relied on his own strength to climb up. At the top, he saw a huge, hazy, shining area—it looked like a palace covered in a veil.

"The Snow Wraith said there was a new restriction outside. Not sure if this is it, but I'll check it out first." Evan Yang decided to figure out the restriction, then learn more about the End of the Sky.

"You even know about that?" Zane Tiernan was shocked.

"You—" Evan Yang’s words stunned Zane Tiernan. He couldn’t believe it—these secrets were supposed to be known only to him, but Evan seemed to know everything, hitting the mark every time.

"Since I know it all, you might as well stop hiding. Tell me—what happened back then? What about the others who went with you? How did you get out?" Evan Yang pressed, curious.

"Go in? I never went inside! If I could, I’d have gone ages ago. It’s this damned restriction. There was never anything like it before—so why is it here now?" Zane Tiernan had been coming here for years, and Evan Yang’s arrival only made him more desperate to break through, so he kept coming, trying to crack the restriction.

He wanted to, but without the strength to break it, there was nothing he could do.

"You never went in? Then where’d you get your nasty techniques from?" Evan Yang asked, not quite believing him.

"Nasty techniques?" Zane Tiernan’s eyes narrowed, suspicious.

"Devouring souls, refining people—aren’t those your specialties?" Evan Yang grinned, seeing Zane still dodging the truth.

"Kid, just how much do you know? Even about that?" Zane Tiernan was completely stunned—he never expected this.

Evan Yang smiled. "So you admit it, then?"

"So what if I admit it? I got all those from a space somewhere on the continent." Now that Evan Yang knew his secrets, Zane Tiernan didn’t bother hiding anymore and snorted coldly.

"So that’s it." Evan Yang acted like he understood, but deep down he figured that space must’ve belonged to someone who came out from the End of the Sky ages ago.

"Kid, now it’s my turn—how do you know I can devour and refine souls? Did you meet him?" Zane Tiernan saw Evan Yang understood, but he was still confused and pressed for answers.

"Yeah, I met him. And everyone you captured—I freed them, including my friends," Evan Yang replied.

Hearing that Evan Yang had met his captives and let them go, Zane Tiernan was even angrier. "Kid, you’re asking for trouble!"

"I really don't get how you cultivated." Zane Tiernan said, watching Evan Yang warily.

"So you're the guy?" Evan Yang asked, curious.

"What guy?" Zane Tiernan was confused by Evan Yang's question.

"The one who split this place off so nobody could find the End of the Sky," Evan Yang said, grinning.
