Chiyou's Infernal Prison Array

This powerful move, the 'Heavenly Gang Demon-Slaying Spell,' was a killer technique Shawn Young just mastered from the Codex of Ascension. It swiftly channels his true energy to conjure a ball-shaped lightning, packing an incredible punch. The downside? It eats up a ton of energy. Luckily, Shawn's cultivation is deep enough now to handle it—otherwise, with his old strength, there’s no way he could pull off such a destructive attack!

"Whew—good thing I’ve got this trick up my sleeve, or dealing with that thing wouldn’t be nearly so easy!" Shawn breathed a quiet sigh of relief, mumbling to himself. He felt his tactics had paid off—finding the Dreadfang Wraith’s weak spot in the back-and-forth exchange was the key to taking it down so quickly!

"Heh—heh—heh—You little punk, if you think the Dreadfang Wraith is that easy to take out, you’re dead wrong! That was just the warm-up! Heh heh—" Master Wuxiang’s sinister cackle echoed from the air above!

Shawn froze, quickly looking in the direction of the voice. He saw strands of gray-white mist roiling in midair, rapidly condensing again—and in just seconds, another Dreadfang Wraith had taken shape!

"What?! It can come back to life—this is nuts! Does that mean it can’t be killed at all!?" Shawn’s heart raced with shock. He hadn’t expected the Dreadfang Wraith could re-form itself! Gathering his energy, Shawn prepared to unleash the Heavenly Gang Demon-Slaying Spell again. He knew that even if the wraith could re-form, it would have to burn a lot of demonic power each time. He didn’t believe it could survive too many of his attacks in a row!

But then, something unexpected happened—the newly reformed Dreadfang Wraith looked much weaker than before. Its murderous aura had faded, and after glaring at Shawn with those eerie red eyes, it suddenly twisted around and bolted away at high speed! Clearly, this wraith still had some smarts left—it knew it couldn’t win a head-on fight, so running was the only option!

Shawn hesitated for a moment, then dashed after it, determined to finish the job. Soon, after rounding a corner, he saw a wide open basin ahead. The area was shrouded in thick, hazy white mist, and through the fog, Shawn could just make out a huge mound rising from the ground!

"Uh-oh—not good!" Shawn’s heart sank. The mound looked a lot like the one that had sealed the Dreadfang Wraith before, but this one was several times bigger. That could only mean there was an even scarier Dreadfang Wraith here—or maybe something even more powerful!

"Graa—graa—" The Dreadfang Wraith ahead let out a weird screech, then suddenly leapt into the air. Its gray-white body shot up, and with a loud "Boom!!" it exploded, scattering onto the ground and transforming into countless tiny corpse-serpent spirits. These little snakes writhed and struggled, swarming toward the huge mound like a tide—clearly looking for a new host to possess!

"What are they—what are they trying to do? Could it be—" Shawn watched the corpse-serpent spirits surge toward the giant mound, a chill running down his spine. He muttered nervously, sensing that whatever monster lay beneath that mound was about to break free!

No sooner had he spoken than the ground began to tremble. The massive mound split open, and a torrent of black mist erupted skyward. In an instant, the whole cavern was blanketed in blood-tinged darkness, with a nauseating stench filling the air—creepy and horrifying beyond words!

Peering through the murky, blood-red haze, Shawn was stunned to see eight towering, bizarre talismans standing around the split mound. Each talisman was covered in writhing, tadpole-like black script, swirling with dark energy—giving off a truly sinister vibe.

The strangest part? Those eight talismans were arranged in a precise pattern around the mound, and right in the center stood a massive, dark oval urn—big enough for several people to hug. No clue what it was made of, but the whole thing shimmered with a faint black glow. At the urn’s mouth, two blood-red talismans were crossed and sealed, as if some terrible evil was locked inside!

"Wait—another Eightfold Soul-Locking Array!? But this one’s way bigger—" Shawn was shocked. The eight blood-red talismans sealing the urn, and the arrangement, were almost identical to the Eightfold Soul-Locking Array he’d seen under the big chinaberry tree before. The difference was, this array was much larger, and the dark red demonic energy swirling around it was way more intense!

"Hahaha—stumped, are you, kid? This isn’t the Eightfold Soul-Locking Array! It’s Chiyou’s Infernal Prison Array. The two are pretty similar in setup, but the materials and methods are totally different. Chiyou’s Infernal Prison Array doesn’t just seal evil spirits—it can trap demon souls, too! This is an ancient formation from the demon god Chiyou, used to punish traitors in the demon clan. With the Hellbound Urn, those rebellious souls are locked away forever, suffering endless torment but never dying—a harsh punishment in demon society! Chiyou was the demon king, ruler of all fiends. Only the most defiant monsters ever faced this kind of sentence! You’ll soon find out what’s inside that urn—and you’ll see just how different ghosts and demons really are! Heh—heh—heh—" Master Wuxiang’s wicked laughter echoed again, clearly in total control of the situation!
