Three-Realms Joint Army
Luna Lian said, "Aunt Tanya, you’ve been working so hard—we really feel bad about it. We should be the ones taking care of Mother Goddess!"
"You all have your own responsibilities!" Divine Lady Tanya Lu replied. "His Majesty the Celestial Emperor and Divine Lord Tanya Quinn personally training you as Divine Generals—that’s a once-in-a-millennium opportunity. Not everyone is that lucky, you know?"
At this, Lucia Lu glanced at Ethan Lu, testing the waters: "We’ve worked hard every day these past years, and it’s paid off. Plus... we’ve been really well-behaved!"
Ethan Lu shot her a look but said nothing.
"And lately, we even scored a huge win—we exposed that troublemaking Xuanchen Clan!" Lucia Lu added. "His Majesty the Celestial Emperor said there’s a surprise waiting for us when we get back!"
"Yep, yep, exactly! We’ve all been working super hard! And totally well-behaved." Ryan Lu nodded enthusiastically.
"So what’s your point?" Ethan Lu asked.
"We’ve learned so much these years training with His Majesty the Celestial Emperor, and we want to keep going... There’s Grand Array training coming up, and I’m most excited for that!" Lucia Lu gave him her softest, cutest puppy eyes. "Big brother... please let us go, okay?"
Ethan Lu said with a blank face, "His Majesty the Celestial Emperor has issued a Divine Edict: a Three-Realms Joint Army is being formed. You three are the core strike force! Unless you die or are crippled, you can’t withdraw."
"Big brother, you mean you’re not going to stop us from staying in the Palace Guard Barracks?" Lucia Lu’s eyes went wide.
Ethan Lu said, "No one can defy His Majesty the Celestial Emperor’s edict."
"Ha! So all that acting obedient was for nothing!" Ryan Lu rolled his eyes.
High Goddess Vivian Lu just laughed.
"But you three—" Ethan Lu frowned, hesitating.
"Big brother, there’s no outsiders here. Just say what you want to say." Luna Lian said sweetly.
Ethan Lu nodded. "Back then, the Phoenix Clan’s divine son Han Bingxiu offended Leo Li and died mysteriously. There’s still no explanation to this day."
The three of them fell silent.
"Just—be careful, all of you." Ethan Lu cautioned.
Ryan Lu nodded. "Father, Mother, Big Brother, don’t worry! We’re so smart, nothing bad will happen to us!"
"You and ‘smart’ have nothing in common," Ethan Lu retorted.
Ryan Lu looked at High Goddess Vivian Lu. "Mother Goddess, after you had me, did you only dote on me and stop liking Ethan Lu? Is that why he always looks at me like I’m a pain?"
High Goddess Vivian Lu didn’t answer.
She frowned, her expression off.
"Mother Goddess!" Lucia Lu noticed. "Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell?"
"Suddenly... my stomach hurts—badly." Her voice changed. "Quentin, can you check what’s going on?"
Quentin Lian rushed over, supporting her and feeling her pulse.
Then he checked her tongue. His face changed instantly. "Lucia Lu, Luna Lian! Help me get her to the birthing room!"
Lucia Lu and Luna Lian hurried over and helped High Goddess Vivian Lu to the birthing room, which had already been prepared.
She’s gone into labor.
A full month early.
Lucia Lu had a bad feeling about this.
Mother Goddess has always been healthy. Even if the baby came early, it shouldn’t be this premature.
She checked High Goddess Vivian Lu’s pulse herself.
Right away, she sensed something was wrong.
She also checked her mother’s tongue—there was a faint bluish tinge.
"Father! Is Mother Goddess poisoned?" Lucia Lu sent a voice transmission.
