A Girl You Cannot Afford to Provoke

Evan Chu recognized the five-colored auspicious cloud—he knew it meant Lynn Chu’s future would be bright, just like Yvonne Xuan’s. Seeing this, Evan felt a deep sense of relief and pride.

As Lynn Chu’s body rose higher and higher, Selena wanted to fly up after her, but Evan Chu held her back. “Sel,” he said gently, “you have to let go. If you work hard at your cultivation, you’ll see Lynn again someday. We should be happy for her, not so downcast.”

“Linfeng, my heart aches,” Selena choked out. “Lynn is like a piece of my own flesh, and now she’s just flown off to the Immortal Realm. I can hardly bear it. I won’t even be able to talk to her anymore. You can’t possibly understand how this feels.”

“What kind of nonsense are you thinking?” Evan Chu said, a bit exasperated. “Lynn is ascending to the Immortal Realm, not dying. You’ve always been strong—why are you acting so weak now? That’s not like you at all.”

At that moment, Lynn Chu reached the five-colored auspicious cloud. In just a few breaths, she vanished from everyone’s sight, and the rainbow light faded from the sky, leaving only the bright moon hanging over the night.

Selena Yale spoke up, “Linfeng, Sel, let’s go. Lynn’s achievement is something to celebrate. Visiting Divine Dragon Valley has shown us what ascension tribulation is really like. Linfeng doesn’t have much time left in the lower realm—let’s not make things harder for him.”

The group returned to the Dragon Shrine, each weighed down by their own thoughts. Leon Drakeson, the Golden Dragon Shrine Master, and Ethan Chu were especially affected by seeing Lynn Chu ascend to the Immortal Realm.

Ethan Chu couldn’t help feeling a hint of regret—if only he’d stayed a little longer in the Crucible, maybe his cultivation would be higher now. But regret was useless; all he could do was work harder in the time ahead.

Leon Drakeson was already at the peak of Eighth-Layer Venerable Martial Realm, on the verge of breaking through to the ninth layer and ascending as well. But his destination would be somewhere else—dangerous and unpredictable.

Inside the hall, everyone discussed the tribulation Lynn Chu faced during her ascension, sharing their insights. It was a valuable exchange, giving them a clearer understanding of what to expect when crossing their own lightning tribulations.
