Miss, We Found an Antler Serpent

A dragon can be big or small, can rise or hide.

Naturally, he couldn't just turn into a giant dragon and barge into the Prime Minister's mansion.

He only turned into a little dragon, about as thick as a sugarcane stalk.

This way, the horns on his head shrank a lot too, and around the horns was a ring of fine, soft golden fuzz.

"Your Highness, what are you going to do in the Prime Minister's mansion?" Steward Qin asked, gossip written all over his face. "Are you going to see Grace Lawrence? But in this form, you can't turn back into a human for six hours—she probably won't recognize you!"

Louis Lin had already come back today and gossiped with Steward Qin about everything he saw in the palace.

Turns out, Lily Bai was actually Grace Lawrence!

That was shocking!

Evan Xiao, now a dragon, obviously couldn't talk. He just glared at him, then turned into a streak of black light and disappeared.

"Hey! Don’t you think His Highness looks a bit like an Antler Serpent in this form?" Louis Lin nudged Steward Qin and asked.

"Are you kidding me!" Steward Qin looked thoroughly unimpressed. "The Antler Serpent is the lowest-tier spirit beast in Eastwood Forest—the lowest! And you dare compare it to His Highness?"

Louis Lin rubbed his nose, not daring to say another word.

"Still, humans can't see His Highness's noble dragon aura, so... maybe he does look a bit like one."

Louis Lin's eyes lit up: "Right? Except for the tuft of fur on his head, they're basically identical!"

......

Grace Lawrence was sitting on her couch feeling a bit down, when she suddenly heard a commotion outside.

The mansion was strict with rules; usually, the servants wouldn't dare make such a fuss.

Grace Lawrence went outside and saw everyone gathered at the front gate, all gossiping and pointing.

"What are you all doing?" Grace Lawrence asked.

Tenner nervously shielded her and said, "Miss Lawrence, we've found an Antler Serpent! Please stay back—it's dangerous!"

"Antler Serpent?" Grace Lawrence peeked over curiously, and sure enough, there was an Antler Serpent on the ground. Its body was a deep, ink-green, with two antlers on its head and beautiful, adorable golden fuzz.

Right now, Edward Wang had caught the Antler Serpent with a fine-mesh net. It had its head raised, staring at her with a pair of beautiful, slightly upturned eyes.

"That's odd. The Antler Serpent is a spirit beast from Eastwood Forest—how did it end up here?" Grace Lawrence wondered aloud.

"Miss Lawrence!" Edward Wang said excitedly, "Antler Serpent meat is delicious! Tonight I'll show off my skills—half for grilled snake, and the other half for snake soup!"

The Antler Serpent, perhaps understanding human speech, turned to look at Edward Wang with an indescribable expression.

Grace Lawrence couldn't help but find its expression adorable. She smiled and said, "It looks smart—would be a shame to kill it. Bring it in to me!"

"Huh? Miss Lawrence, it's a spirit beast—it might hurt someone!" Edward Wang protested.

"It's so tiny, it can't hurt me!" Grace Lawrence replied. "Bring it in! I have my own way to handle it."

So Edward Wang carried it in the net and brought it into Grace Lawrence's room.

Grace Lawrence took out a red cord from her spatial realm and tied it around the Antler Serpent's seven-inch spot. "All right! You can let it out now!" she said.

"Miss Lawrence, what is that?" Edward Wang and Tenner didn't recognize it. "Can such a thin red cord really hold it?"

"This isn't an ordinary cord—it's a Spirit-Binding Cord!" Grace Lawrence explained. "If it tries to hurt anyone, I just tug the cord and it'll go limp all over!"

Evan Xiao glanced down at the cord tied around him.

Hmph! What kind of nonsense is this?
