Farming Well

As soon as Lily Evans finished speaking, before the Evans Manor relatives could respond, Emily 'Yaya' Wang bounced up, circling Lily excitedly: "Aunt Lily, I want to go to Uncle Arthur's house and play with Jill Evans and Hannah Lee!"

Lily laughed, "Yaya, do you really love playing with Jill and Hannah that much?"

Yaya nodded enthusiastically, beaming, "When I stayed at Uncle Arthur's, I played with them every day and it was so much fun! At home, it's just me, no playmates at all—I'm bored to death!"

Hearing this, the adults all laughed. Clearly, Arthur Evans and his family took great care of Yaya—she was so happy, she almost didn't want to leave.

"Alright, then Yaya can stay at Uncle Arthur's. If you ever miss Aunt Lily, just come to the Prince's Manor," Lily said, smiling as she patted Yaya's head. She then instructed the servants to pack Yaya's everyday clothes, personal items, and even a box of silver, to be sent to Arthur Evans' house.

Although Arthur's family didn't lack these things, as relatives staying over, it's important to show courtesy. You can't just act entitled and take advantage—that would be distasteful.

With arrangements for Emily 'Yaya' Wang settled, Lily Evans confirmed with Uncle George Wang's family about moving to the plantation. She instructed them to go home, pack their belongings, and prepare to set out tomorrow.

Before leaving, Uncle George Wang took Lily's hand solemnly and said, "Lily, I don't have many skills, but I do know how to farm. Rest assured, the spice seeds you've given me—I promise to grow them well and deliver a bumper harvest!"

William 'Li Dong' Wang nodded quickly, "Lily, our whole family are farmers—working the fields is what we do best! Just wait for our good news."

Lily Evans looked gratefully at them both and said, "These spices are from overseas, so the local climate and temperature are very different. Belle has already taught you the greenhouse techniques, so the rest you'll need to figure out by yourselves. Don't rush or push too hard—just do your best."

"Yes! We'll do our best!" Uncle George Wang's whole family replied together.

After a few more words, Lily personally took the Evans Family Carriage to escort Uncle George Wang's family home, then personally delivered Emily 'Yaya' Wang to Arthur Evans' house.

Arthur Evans was delighted to hear that Emily 'Yaya' Wang would be living with them long-term. He agreed readily, "Lily, don't worry. Mrs. Charlotte Evans and I will treat Yaya just like our own daughter!"

Just then, Jill Evans and Hannah Lee heard that Yaya had arrived. The two girls came running in, squealing with excitement when they saw her. The three girls hugged tightly and happily went off to play in Jill's room.

Arthur Evans watched the three girls run off, smiling. He turned to Lily and said, "Look how happy they are! By the way, how have you been lately? I heard from Leonard Li that you're still teaching every day—are you sure you're up for it in your condition?"

Lily Evans grinned and sat down. "I'm almost two months pregnant, but you can see I'm not showing yet. I just get sleepy, but otherwise I feel fine. My father checks my pulse every day—I'm perfectly healthy! Teaching isn't a problem. In a few months, when my belly is obvious, I won't be able to go to the academy. Otherwise, if people see Professor Su walking in with a big belly, they'll be shocked!"

Mrs. Charlotte Evans smiled and added, "That's right! Lily, just let us know if you need anything. The children are so happy together—having Yaya here will be wonderful for all of them."

Lily Evans nodded, feeling warm inside as she watched the children laughing together. She thanked Arthur Evans and Mrs. Charlotte Evans, then left the Evans Manor, ready to head home and rest.
