Jenna Summers sneered, "Divine Lord Soren Lann! His Majesty the Celestial Emperor is my father-in-law! Do you really think I could just stand there and keep recording as I watched him get pushed down? Of course I tried to save him! I just happened to be a step too late!"
"Did you see Lucia Lu fall into the well too, and then get sent out by His Majesty the Celestial Emperor?" asked the Celestial Empress.
Jenna Summers declared, "No! Lucia Lu never fell in! There was never any suction in that well like she claimed! She's lying!"
The hall fell silent.
After a long pause, Ethan Lu asked, "Why didn’t you hand over the Clarity Charm right away? Why wait until now to mention it?"
"That’s because…" Jenna Summers glanced at Jason Xiao. "I was afraid High God Quentin Lian would get angry and refuse to treat my husband, so I waited until the demonic energy was completely purged before handing the Clarity Charm to the Empress."
"Only you could talk about burning bridges so calmly," Adrian Drake sneered.
Jenna Summers said, "When it comes to my father-in-law’s life, I had no choice. I hope High God Quentin Lian can understand."
High God Quentin Lian just pondered silently, ignoring her.
"There are three major flaws in Jenna Summers' story," said Sean Shaw suddenly from the back of the hall.
Everyone turned to look at him.
"First: Everyone in the Divine Guard Camp knows my father, His Majesty, was very fond of Lucia Lu. He came to Peach Blossom Haven this time to propose to her. As long as he was alive, she had his protection! She had absolutely no motive to kill him," said Sean Shaw.
"She might not have, but what about Bianca Whitefan? Those fiends never play by normal rules! You can't use common sense with them!" Jenna Summers snapped.
"Then forget common sense—let’s talk cultivation. Second: You claim there was no suction in the well. So how could Lucia Lu, at her cultivation level, possibly push His Majesty down so easily? How many tiers apart are their powers?"
Jenna Summers blinked rapidly, starting to panic.
"I think she was possessed by Bianca Whitefan!" Leo Li said. "Lucia Lu’s cultivation couldn't do it, but Bianca Whitefan’s could!"
"Do you have any proof?"
"It's just logical deduction!" Leo Li retorted.
Sean Shaw shot him a look and said, "Third: Jenna, you said you saw His Majesty fall and rushed to save him?"
Jenna Summers didn’t want to answer him, but had no choice. "That’s right!"
"How did you get there? Did you run, or did you fly?"
"I... I..." She glanced over at Leo Li.
"In a situation like this, trying to save the Emperor, every second counts. So you must've teleported, right?" Sean Shaw said.
"That's right! I did teleport! But even then, I was still a step too late!" Jenna Summers insisted.
"Judging by the scene in the Clarity Charm, you were about a hundred meters away from them. That's well within your teleportation range. So you couldn't have teleported multiple times, could you?"
"Why do you keep asking that?" Jenna snapped. "The facts are right there—Bianca Whitefan and Lucia Lu are the ones who hurt His Majesty! What's the point of all these questions?"
"Just answer me."
"Fine! I only teleported once!" Jenna shot back, her tone prickly.
They'd all spent years together in the Palace Guard Barracks, so everyone knew each other's cultivation level—lying was pointless.
Sean Shaw nodded. "In the Clarity Charm, you can clearly see the coffin descending at a steady pace—it wasn't that fast. So why, when you teleported over, was the coffin already sealed? The timing doesn't add up."
