Soulhook Arrow

"Uh—Big Bro, let's hurry and chase them! If they get too far, it'll be trouble! If someone else catches that Morin kid, we'll lose tens of millions!" Tyler Yan, one of the Yan Twins of Terror, anxiously said to Leon Yan, who was staring coldly in the direction the police car had fled.

"Heh heh—no need. They can't escape the palm of our hands!" Leon Yan said with a sinister grin.

"Hmm? Big Bro, did you—already use some sorcery on them?" Tyler Yan started to catch on.

"Heh heh—That Morin brat's been hit by my Soulhook Arrow! All we have to do is follow his aura and he'll be ours in no time! Felix Eagleclaw is half dead already, not much of a threat!" Leon Yan sneered.

"Keh—keh—keh—Nicely done, Big Bro! Once the Morin kid's struck by our Soulhook Arrow, even if someone else grabs him, he's just an empty shell. His life and death are in our hands! Keh—keh—" Tyler Yan said gleefully.

With that, Leon Yan chanted a spell, retrieving the Chenshire Corpse Golem, and the brothers began tracking the aura along the highway.

Captain Victor Zhang floored the gas pedal, the police car speeding toward the city. Sergeant Hannah Pan, still shaken, exclaimed from the passenger seat, "Oh my god! What were those things? They just popped up out of nowhere, and even bullets couldn't stop them—it's terrifying!"

"Sergeant Pan, let's get back to the city first! Whatever those things are, they're way out of our league!" Captain Victor Zhang said, fully aware of the situation as he drove.

"Cough—cough—Their target is Charles Morin—" Felix Eagleclaw suddenly spoke up from the back seat.

"Uh—Why? Why are they after me? I don't even know them! I don't think I've ever offended them!" Charles Morin cried out in panic.

"It's simple—because you're the heir to the Morin Family. If they catch you, they can use you to threaten your father!" Felix Eagleclaw explained.

"Uh—you mean they're trying to kidnap me? Then extort a huge ransom from my dad?" Charles Morin broke out in a cold sweat.

"Sigh—I'm afraid it's not that simple! Uh—" Felix Eagleclaw frowned, then suddenly felt his chest churn. Dark red blood oozed from the corner of his mouth—he'd fought Shawn Young earlier, and then took a heavy punch from the Chenshire Corpse Golem. Now he was seriously injured inside.

Just then, a huge truck suddenly appeared at the fork in the road ahead, blocking their path. Captain Victor Zhang slammed on the brakes—the police car screeched to a halt, leaving a long skid mark. Victor Zhang stuck his head out, ready to curse, but stopped when he saw several men in black with strange expressions climbing out of the truck, each armed with automatic weapons, striding toward them.

"Ah—Quick! Turn around—those are their people!" Felix Eagleclaw urgently warned Victor Zhang.

"Oh—" Victor Zhang reacted quickly, responding as he started the car. The police car spun in a sharp turn and sped backward. The men in black, stunned, raised their weapons and fired—"rat-a-tat-tat—" Bullets streaked like fiery snakes, riddling the police car with holes.

"Damn, these guys are packing serious firepower—they're basically terrorists!" Victor Zhang stomped on the gas, escaping the hail of bullets. His scalp tingled with fear—the windshield was shattered, and several bullets whizzed past his head, nearly killing him.

"They are terrorists! Quick, find someone to help!" Felix Eagleclaw urged.

"Oh—crap, I didn't bring my phone—Victor Zhang, do you have yours?" Sergeant Hannah Pan patted herself down, realized she had no phone, and quickly asked Victor Zhang.

"Mine—I dropped it on the ground when we escaped!" Victor Zhang replied anxiously.

"What? We're screwed—now we really have no way to call for backup!" Sergeant Hannah Pan said, frustrated.

"I've got a phone—use mine," Charles Morin suddenly said from the back.

He pulled out his phone, about to hand it to Hannah Pan, when suddenly his eyes widened, his gaze went blank, and his body began to shake and convulse violently. A stream of white, sinister energy burst from his mouth as he collapsed onto Felix Eagleclaw, instantly losing consciousness. His phone dropped to the car floor.

"Ah? What happened? What's wrong with him?" Hannah Pan cried out in shock.

Felix Eagleclaw was also stunned. He quickly lifted Charles for a closer look, and to his horror found a yellow, flag-like metal arrow lodged in the center of Charles's back. The arrow twisted like a snake, glinting with a dull yellow metallic light, and was covered in strange, ancient runes—making it look especially sinister.

"Uh—what the heck is this thing?" Hannah Pan couldn't help but reach out to pull it out.

"Don't touch it! If you pull it out, he'll be dead for sure!" Felix Eagleclaw quickly slapped her hand away.

"Uh—seriously? So, what is that thing, anyway?" Hannah Pan was startled by Felix's casual slap; her hand stung as if struck by lightning, and she was secretly shocked, realizing the old man's skills far surpassed hers.

Felix Eagleclaw closely examined the bizarre arrow stuck in Charles Morin's back, thinking for a moment before exclaiming, "Damn—it's the Yan Family Soulhook Arrow!"

"Uh—Soulhook Arrow? What is that?" Hannah Pan and Victor Zhang couldn't help but ask at the same time.

"Sigh—I don't really know the origins of this thing, and there's no time to explain. We need to find someone to save Charles Morin, or he'll be finished!" Felix Eagleclaw said, picking up Charles's phone and searching for contacts.

"Should we call for backup and get some doctors here?" Hannah Pan suggested.

"No, doctors can't save him. We need someone else—" Felix Eagleclaw kept searching through the contacts. Most were Charles Morin's useless party friends. In his anxiety, he suddenly spotted Shawn Young's name. Delighted, he dialed the number—only for the call to be hung up immediately! Felix was stunned, shook his head with a bitter smile, and dialed again—
