Marriage Alliance

Desmond Mansfield stood motionless with his eyes closed. From the moment Evan Chu transmitted the Astro‑Divination Canon to him, he hadn’t moved a single inch.

Evan Chu transferred Desmond into the Chaos Trial World, vanishing into thin air right in front of the five Holy Emperor leaders of the Savage Brotherhood and leaving everyone stunned.

Is this the top leader and supreme commander of the Dragon‑Chen Legion?

“Yuefei, who is this…?”

“That’s the Dragon‑Chen Hall Master, Evan Chu.”

“And him?”

Liam Savage, the Savage Brotherhood boss, and his brothers all looked confused. Why were they being left hanging here? This was way too humiliating.

“Don’t worry, brothers. Hall Master Chu definitely has important matters to handle. We’ve waited this long, what’s a little more?”

“Then let’s just keep waiting.”

Among the five Holy Emperors, the strongest was already at peak mid-stage Holy Emperor Realm, just half a step away from late-stage Holy Emperor.

Even so, when facing Evan Chu, the Savage Brotherhood still dared not utter a single word of complaint.

They claimed that it was Dragon-Chen Legion’s honor to have the Savage Brotherhood join them, but deep down, they knew the truth: without relying on Dragon-Chen, the Savage Brotherhood had no future at all. If they kept living as roaming bandits, destruction would be inevitable.

So now, not only must they endure being left hanging—even if Dragon-Chen ignored them outright, they had no choice but to accept it.

Meanwhile, Desmond Mansfield’s mind was undergoing a tremendous transformation. As the Astro-Divination Canon poured into his consciousness, his latent star-gazing bloodline was violently awakened—not only did he feel no discomfort, but every ounce of hidden power surged forth, leaving his mind astonishingly clear.

In that instant, he seemed to glimpse fragments of the future, catch fleeting glimpses of Heaven’s secrets, and sense the heights Dragon-Chen Legion would one day reach.

But everything remained a blur, and with his cultivation still too low, Desmond could not fully comprehend the Astro-Divination Canon.

Like the Battle-Star Canon, Astro-Divination Canon was also a seven-layer technique. Yet Desmond, thanks to his bloodline, instantly crossed the threshold of the first layer and mastered all its core techniques—something Evan could not achieve at his current realm.

This was all thanks to his star-gazing bloodline, which gave him such overwhelming support.

Astro-Divination Canon was not a combat art, and Desmond’s monstrous intellect let him comprehend it at lightning speed. Still, no matter how profound his understanding, the scripture only slightly deepened his cultivation—it did nothing to boost his fighting power.

Evan’s case was different. Battle-Star Canon was an absolute powerhouse technique—the strongest fighting skill he had ever grasped. Yet his current understanding was still shallow; the road ahead was long and arduous.

Desmond spent no less time comprehending Astro-Divination Canon than Evan did with Battle-Star Canon—six months outside, six thousand years within the Chaos Trial World.

With mastery over the Law of Time, Evan could sense these changes in his own world even more keenly. He noticed Desmond’s life aura growing deeper and stronger, and the power flowing through his bloodline becoming ever more unfathomable.

At this moment, though Desmond was still at peak early Saint Venerable Realm, his aura had become so profound that even Evan could not fully fathom it.

“It looks like this inheritance has helped Desmond quite a bit!” Evan remarked.

Right now, Evan had no idea that by doing this, he would one day create such a terrifying existence. Nor did Desmond realize that, with Astro-Divination Canon, he could help shape an ally of truly monstrous power.

Whoosh—a scene flashed before his eyes: the beginning of the fourth End-of-Dharma Era. In a haze, Desmond saw a Sacred Dragon Emperor with nine golden claws, radiating a fearsome aura, wielding the Desolate Dragon Tower and raising the Seven-Star Golden Tower high, looking down on the world and battling the gods.

Even the weakest of those enemies were Sacred Emperor Realm experts. Just what kind of battle was this?

At first glance, that figure’s back looked very familiar, but for a moment Desmond couldn’t recall who it was. In the next instant, the vision shifted—he saw a blood-soaked banner emblazoned with the words ‘Dragon-Chen’.

A white-robed youth, folding fan in hand, strode through the void. With a casual wave, ten thousand troops turned to bones, and whole worlds vanished into dust.

At that moment, the youth seemed consumed by rage. Desmond’s heart trembled—this person was so familiar! The vision changed again: a world filled with stars, each one a powerhouse, and even the Stellar Ranking stars could be plucked at will.

At the center stood a single figure, commanding seven blazing stars, locked in battle with a blood-red, black mist. Space collapsed, blood energy raged, and countless star-regions were annihilated.

More and more visions flashed through Desmond’s mind—not just the future, but the past as well.

From the first End-of-Dharma Era of the Primordial Age, to the second of the Ancient Age, then the third of the Archaic Age, and finally the coming fourth End-of-Dharma Era.

Scene after scene appeared—Desmond felt his head about to split, as if he could no longer contain so much information.

Suddenly—boom! A clap of thunder, and Desmond snapped awake.

"Where is this place?"

"You’re awake? This is my world—don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe here."

Evan appeared, and Desmond finally woke up. Evan didn’t ask what Desmond had experienced—he simply asked if he was all right.

"I’m fine. What you gave me is just…" Desmond thought for a long time, unable to find words to describe the Astro-Divination Canon.

"Enough. We’re all on the same side—no need for courtesy."

"Mm."

Desmond nodded heavily. If it had been before, he’d joined Dragon-Chen Legion to assist Evan Chu because of conditions, agreements, or family orders. But now, all that was gone from his mind.

Evan Chu was someone truly worth his wholehearted, sincere support!

It wasn’t gratitude—it was for Evan Chu himself! To dedicate a lifetime to such a person, what more could one ask? A simple word, a casual look—no need for anything else.

"All right, time to get back to business. Those five guys from the Savage Brotherhood must be getting impatient by now."

"Huh? You haven’t met with them yet?"

"No, I’ve been by your side the whole time. Nathan, Lance, Old Goldwing, and Shadow—they’re all people I trust. They’ve been taking turns receiving those five Holy Emperors for me."

"Fine, but let me say this: the Savage Brotherhood is a crucial piece in our future plans. We have to hold them tight."

"Of course. Just those five Holy Emperors alone are worth binding. So I think it’s time to use an old trick."

"What?"

"Heh, marriage alliance, of course! I’ve already ordered Old Goldwing and Shadow to negotiate with Liam Savage. Dragon-Chen Legion and Savage Brotherhood—yep, specifically a marriage between Dragon-Chen Hall’s vice master and Savage Brotherhood’s eldest miss."

"What the hell, Evan Chu! You’re screwing me over!" Desmond’s face darkened and he exploded in outrage.
