Ordinary Like Everyone Else
He said nothing.
"A high-level Rune Master from the Sigil Sect can track the Celestial Wolf Immortal using something he once used. We're pretty close to the Sigil Sect right now. If I call their Young Master over, would that work for you?"
Sean Shaw still didn't answer.
His eyes were icy cold.
Lucia Lu frowned. "Fifth Highness?"
Sean stared straight at her. "Do you think it's funny?"
"Huh?"
"The empress wanted me to stay with her. Did you think that was funny?" Sean asked.
"Not funny at all!" Lucia said. "Good thing you thought fast and said you already had a wife and kids, or that would've been a real mess."
"If it wasn't funny, then why did you laugh?"
"Did I laugh?"
Sean just stared at her, silent.
"Uh... okay, maybe I did smile a little. But I wasn't laughing at you! I just suddenly realized that Fifth Highness's charm doesn't only work in our Divine Guard Barracks—even a full-blown empress has fallen for you. She'd even go to war with the Southern Mystic Empire over you!" Lucia explained.
Is that so?
And what about you?
That empress was willing to go to war for me.
Why do you treat me no differently than anyone else?
You give Flower Eggs to everyone.
When you saw Snow Yuan chasing after me, you even joked about giving them a wedding present.
Whenever another woman shows interest in me, you just laugh.
In the end... To Lucia Lu, Sean Shaw was just another ordinary comrade in the Divine Guard Barracks.
Ordinary.
Just ordinary, no different from anyone else.
Suddenly, he turned away, his back facing her.
Lucia Lu: "..."
What's with him?
He looked just like her brother Ethan Lu did when he used to get upset as a kid.
So aggrieved.
Waiting for her to coax him.
Lucia was a little exasperated. She stepped in front of him and said, "Will it help if I apologize? I shouldn't have laughed, okay? I was wrong, alright?"
Sean turned his head away again, refusing to look at her.
"I just smiled a little, it's not like I said I'd hand you over to her. Are you really that mad? Hm?"
...
"Fifth Highness?"
...
"What do you want me to do to make you feel better?"
He turned and walked away, sitting by himself on a cloud.
Lucia shook her head.
So hard to coax.
She finally gave up and left him alone, pulled out a Messenger Charm, and contacted the Sigil Sect Young Master, Faustin.
The Sigil Sect Leader—Faustin's master—failed his ascension and was gravely injured, spending a whole year recovering at the Spirit Alliance.
During that time, Faustin was always by his side, taking care of him.
After all that, Lucia Lu got to know him pretty well too.
Luckily, Faustin is only an Immortal-rank Rune Master, so asking him for help won't set off any political landmines for this mission.
Faustin was a bright, upright-looking young man.
But he was so shy and thin-skinned, his face would turn red at the drop of a hat.
He hurried over, and as soon as he saw her, he bowed deeply. "This humble immortal greets the Goddess!"
"Get up, quick!" Lucia helped him to his feet. "Sorry to drag you all the way out here—thanks for coming!"
"Goddess, saying that is too much for me," Faustin replied. "You saved my master's life. Even if I repaid you with my own, it would be only right."
"Alright, alright! Enough with the formalities," Lucia said. "I called you because I need your help finding someone."
She handed him a robe. "This is something he wore."
Faustin unfolded the robe and examined it. It was a finely made immortal's robe, embroidered with the Heavenly Moon Kingdom's crest.
He summoned his rune staff, cast a spell to test it, then nodded. "No problem! Please come with me!"
Lucia let out a sigh of relief.
That meant the Celestial Wolf Immortal was still alive.
