Delaying for Time and Mutual Probing

Although Cecilia Gu couldn't speak directly to Grandpa Mo, she used this subtle method to gently inform him of their current predicament.

After finishing 'Ambush from Ten Sides,' Cecilia Gu changed her tune, switching to the intense melody of 'Battle Against the Typhoon.'

Cecilia was hinting to Grandpa Mo that their side would dispatch reinforcements in time and successfully rescue him and the other experts.

After Cecilia finished playing three songs, Captain Hans, standing on the opposite deck, couldn't help but applaud softly.

"This woman is quite interesting," Hans said, squinting at Cecilia in the distance and turning to his men. "She's using her music to tell the hostages to stay calm—help is on the way."

Ian was completely confused. "Huh? She didn't say anything at all!"

Hans gave Ian a meaningful look, and Ian immediately shut his mouth.

Ian wasn't interested in all these mind games, but the boss sure was!

Hans turned to the others and asked, "What’s Germany’s response right now?"

"They're still searching everywhere. I bet they never imagined we'd move everyone straight to the South Pacific!" someone replied smugly. "Germany is going crazy looking for their missing experts. With so many gone, the other countries won’t let Germany off the hook."

"Oh?" Hans smiled. "Then how did that woman know those hostages were in my hands? Ian, tell me exactly what happened last night."

Ian still didn’t get it—how was the boss so sure that woman knew the hostages were with them?

All that woman did was play some weird songs—she didn’t say a word!

Still, Ian obediently recounted everything that happened last night, down to the smallest detail.

Hans frowned when he realized just how simple the events were.

He was clearly puzzled too—how did the other side figure it out?

Even if they knew Ian was with the hostages, how did they know these hostages were weapon experts?

Could it be that someone among the experts is connected to them?

As soon as Hans thought of this possibility, his brow furrowed and he immediately ordered, "Bring all the hostages here!"

If that woman was sending signals to the hostages, Hans wanted to see exactly who she was trying to reach!

Soon, all the hostages were brought over, lined up in two rows in front of Hans.

Hans spoke in English: "Someone on the other ship just played the guzheng beautifully, but I’m no expert in Chinese music and can’t name some of the songs. Still, I’m a pirate who loves Chinese art. Did anyone here understand what was played? Whoever did will be released as a reward."

Hearing that Hans would release one of them, several hostages immediately became excited.

But their excitement was for nothing—none of them understood what was played.

Grandpa Mo pretended not to understand, looking completely bewildered.

But the temptation to go home was too great. One of the experts couldn’t help but ask, "Can you have her play it again?"

Hans immediately burst out laughing.

Hans stood in front of Grandpa Mo, thought for a moment, and then asked in Chinese, "Chinese culture is truly profound. Do you know that girl on the other ship?"

Grandpa Mo looked up at Hans and replied in Korean, "It is indeed profound."

"Korean?" Hans asked in Korean as well.

'Paul Park,' Grandpa Mo volunteered one of his fake identities. 'Korean military enthusiast.'

Hans glanced at his subordinates, and someone immediately searched for Paul Park’s information. They really found it, and compared a photo to Grandpa Mo.

The photo was clearly taken when he was younger; although he looked a bit different now, the resemblance was close enough.

Grandpa Mo wasn’t about to tell them that he’d lived in Korea for years as a spy.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been foolish enough to volunteer that name and identity.

Even after he returned to China, someone in Korea continued to use that identity for occasional activities.

Since Grandpa Mo disappeared, all activities under that identity in Korea had stopped.

All to ensure Grandpa Mo’s safety.

Hans’s men really were quite skilled.

Using that name, they actually found some related activities in Korea.
