Lily Bai’s Deadly Weak Spot 6

1/4/2026

The house was surrounded by surveillance cameras. Lily Bai went back to pore over the footage—maybe she’d spot a clue, just a thread to unravel.

So, she headed back again, determined.

She glued herself to the screens for three hours straight, barely blinking.

Just like Sandy said, not a soul climbed over the wall.

Not even a stray cat bothered to show up.

Not a single fly in sight.

Not even a sparrow dared to visit.

How could Evan Lan just vanish into thin air?

She slumped over her desk, icy all over, her mind wiped completely blank.

"Mom..." The baby called out. "Daddy! Find Daddy!"

Lily Bai looked up at him, and suddenly realized—the baby's tiny hand had been pointing in one direction this whole time: "Daddy, find!"

Lily's eyes sparkled. "Moonlight! Are you saying Daddy's over there?"

He nodded hard. "Daddy!"

"Sandy! Grab the baby, we're going on a rescue mission!"

"Got it!" Sandy replied, already springing into action.

Everyone jumped into action. Two cars rolled down the mountain, following wherever the baby pointed.

They drove from before dawn until noon, leaving Dragon City far behind. The baby kept pointing south, insisting Daddy was that way.

But by then, the poor little guy was totally wiped out.

His eyelids battled to stay open, but he stubbornly kept pointing the way for them.

Lily asked softly, "Is Daddy still super far away? Is he?"

But the baby had no clue what "far" even meant—he just clung to Lily's shirt, eyes all lost and confused.

"Go ahead and nap," Lily croaked. "When you wake up, we'll keep hunting for Daddy, okay?"

The baby closed his eyes and zonked out instantly.

Lily hugged him tight, heart aching for her little Moonlight.

"Lily, hand me the baby. You need a break too," Uncle Ernie said gently. "You haven't slept a wink since last night."

Lily shook her head. "I'm fine. Let's keep driving, find a spot to eat and crash, recharge, then keep going."

She trusted absolutely that wherever her baby pointed, Evan Lan would be there.

In this world, only her son and Evan Lan could sense each other, no matter the distance...

After a pit stop, the baby woke up refreshed.

Lily fed him until he was stuffed, then they headed south again.

They drove for two full days and three whole nights.

On the third morning, at last, the baby's hand changed direction.

They followed his little finger and ended up at the foot of a mountain.

Then the baby pointed straight up the mountain.

"Is Daddy up there on the mountain?" Lily asked.

The baby broke into his usual sunshine smile—the one he always gave Evan Lan: "Daddy! Daddy!"

Lily looked up at the cloud-piercing peak and gasped, "He's really here—Heaven's Gate Mountain! Can't believe it!"

She and Evan Lan came here for their honeymoon ages ago.

They even spent a night on the mountain, just the two of them.

How did Evan end up back here?

Could he have come here all by himself?

Maybe nothing bad happened at all.

Maybe Evan just wandered off here on his own?

Otherwise, who could possibly snatch him away with Sandy watching everything?

Just as Lily started daydreaming, Sandy popped her bubble: "All the staff and tour buses are gone! The whole place is on high alert."

Max Mo whipped out his gun, ready for trouble.

Uncle Ernie stretched, limbering up for action.

Lily was just about to gun the car up the mountain when her phone rang.

Shaun Fane was calling.

Lily frowned, hit speaker, and said, "Shaun Fane."

"Lily Bai, you got here fast!" Shaun Fane's voice rang out, smug as ever.
