Evan’s Mausoleum

1/4/2026

"That's Evan's Mausoleum," Adrian Drake said.

Lucia Lu's expression grew serious. "Is this the place where Emperor Evan Xiao and the Holy Lord are buried together?"

"That's right," Adrian Drake replied. "Since we're here, let's pay our respects!"

Emperor Evan Xiao and Holy Lord Grace Summers' tomb lies deep beneath the sea.

The shrine above the sea is only for visitors to offer prayers.

"Why is the spiritual energy here so strong?" Lucia Lu asked, wide-eyed. "Is there some kind of Spirit-Gathering Array at work?"

"No, there isn't any array here," Adrian Drake said. "The elders say it's because of the Holy Lord."

"How so?"

"Legend has it that after Emperor Evan Xiao passed away, the Holy Lord didn't actually die. She entered a deep sleep alongside him. The dense spiritual energy here is hers!"

"Actually, my Divine Father often talked about the Holy Lord," Lucia Lu said. "He even said our ancestor, Divine Lord Lucas Lu, was the Holy Lord's sworn brother!"

"I know this too! That's right!" Adrian Drake said. "So you three really ought to properly worship the Holy Lord! Who knows, maybe you'll get a sign from her!"

"A sign?" Lucia Lu hadn't heard of that before. "What kind of sign?"

"They say that if the Holy Lord favors someone who comes to offer incense, the spiritual energy here will burst into rainbow light and wrap around that person," Adrian Drake explained.

"Oh? Has anyone actually been wrapped in rainbow light?" Lucia Lu was skeptical.

"Not much in recent years," Adrian Drake admitted. "But ten thousand years ago, any descendant of the Spirit-Mediums who came would get it."

"Spirit-Medium descendants? We're Spirit-Medium descendants too!" Ryan Lu's eyes lit up. "We might not have the mark, but our Divine Father is a Spirit-Medium!"

Lucia Lu nodded and excitedly pulled Luna Lian over, and the three of them knelt down together.

There happened to be exactly three prayer mats in the hall.

The three siblings knelt in a row, feeling a mix of awe and emotion, bowing earnestly and offering incense.

Maybe it was just her imagination, but after bowing, Lucia Lu felt the spiritual energy thicken around her.

Then, as Lucia Lu rose to her feet, everyone gasped in surprise.

A beautiful rainbow appeared, circling all around Lucia Lu.

The rainbow flowed like a ribbon, looping several times around her, then gently ruffling her hair before slowly fading away.

"Ah! Ah! It happened! It really happened!" Adrian Drake was beside himself with excitement.

"But why is it only happening to Lucia Lu?" Ryan Lu was crushed. "We're real siblings! Real ones! Why does she get it and I don't?"

Adrian Drake replied, "Maybe it's because your luck is terrible."

"No way! My luck is great!"

"Then maybe the Holy Lord just thinks you're too ugly to bless!"

Ryan Lu reached out, ready to hit him.

"Hey! Knock it off! Look where we are—stop fighting!" Lucia Lu scolded.

"Then tell me! Why do you get the rainbow and I don't?"

Lucia Lu pondered for a while, then teased, "Maybe it's just because you're the uglier one!"

Luna Lian snorted with laughter.

Ryan Lu, feeling repeatedly roasted, whipped out a pocket mirror and checked himself from every angle. "Am I really ugly? Did the Holy Lord just snub me?"

Adrian Drake chuckled and shook his head, then went over to Damian Black. "You've never been here before, right? Let's go pay our respects too!"

Damian Black nodded and knelt down with Adrian Drake.

First bow.

Second bow.

Third bow.

Just as the two were about to get up and offer incense, a sudden thunderclap exploded out of nowhere, striking Damian Black.
