Tina Huo's Party

1/4/2026

In the evening, Yu Jie and Song Shizhe tacitly agreed not to mention anything about going to the party.

They were both long tired of those childish, dramatic gatherings. Now, all they wanted was to relax and snuggle up together.

Especially since both of them rarely got the chance to take a break and go on vacation, they just wanted things to be easy and comfortable.

However, even if they wanted to take it easy, others might not give them that chance.

Just as Yu Jie and Song Shizhe were about to eat, the doorbell rang.

Yu Jie frowned, clearly displeased at being disturbed like this.

Yu Jie picked up her phone, ready to call the front desk, but before she could dial, Song Shizhe gently held her hand and said, "Calling the front desk might make them leave for now, but that's just a temporary fix. Let me handle it tonight. After all, I'm the man—this is my job."

Yu Jie obediently put down her phone and nodded seriously. "Okay."

A smart woman knows when to back down and pick her battles.

Song Shizhe got up to open the door, and saw a boy with delicate features and a decent aura standing outside, looking at him with innocent eyes.

Song Shizhe walked over and asked, "Can I help you?"

"Sorry to bother you," the boy said, his gaze drifting past Song Shizhe to Yu Jie behind him. Smiling, he added, "I'm here on behalf of Miss Huo to invite you both to the party. Rest assured, there are no illegal substances at the party. We're all decent people here."

Yeah, right. Decent people, my ass.

Song Shizhe and Yu Jie both burst out laughing.

Song Shizhe had lived abroad for years—he'd seen all kinds of weirdos.

Yu Jie was the chief executive assistant at Mo Corporation—there was no situation she hadn't encountered.

The boy standing before them might look innocent, but the details gave him away—he was clearly someone specially trained to be a tool.

Yu Jie sighed.

What's the point?

Song Shizhe nodded and said, "Alright, we'll come. But before we do, would you mind if we change our clothes first?"

"Of course. I'll be waiting for you downstairs," the boy said, introducing himself. "By the way, I forgot to mention my name—I'm Kerry. I'm twenty-three years old."

"Alright, Kerry," Song Shizhe nodded. "See you in a bit."

After Kerry left, Song Shizhe called the front desk, asked a few questions, and then hung up. He turned to Yu Jie and said, "Let's keep eating. We'll deal with it after dinner."

"Okay." Yu Jie and Song Shizhe calmly continued their dinner at the table.

They didn't even need to guess—the invitation downstairs definitely wasn't out of kindness.

That's why you eat your fill first—so you have the energy to watch the show.

Once they were fed and rested, the two of them went upstairs to change into something a bit more formal, then headed out together to the small cabin.

The place was already buzzing with activity—a bunch of young people had flung open the cabin doors, the yard was packed with tables and chairs, and people were splashing around in the pool out back.

The moment Yu Jie and Song Shizhe arrived, the whole scene went quiet.

Tina Huo spotted them and, just as expected, her face broke into a confident, determined smile as she walked over. "The handsome guys are here!"

"Call me Uncle," Song Shizhe corrected her again.

Tina Huo just pressed her lips together.

"If you call her Auntie, then you have to call me Uncle. Because she's my girlfriend," Song Shizhe explained very seriously.

Tina Huo's expression froze instantly.

After all, she's still young—not even twenty. No matter how much she pretends, how deep can her scheming go?

"Miss Huo," Yu Jie reached out to shake Tina Huo's hand. "My name is Yu Jie."

Tina Huo shot Yu Jie a look, squeezed her fingers briefly in a handshake, and said, "Miss Yu, you're really lucky. Your boyfriend seems to treat you very well."

"I think so too," Yu Jie smiled.

"Please, come in," Tina Huo said, giving Song Shizhe a long look. As they entered, she deliberately slowed down and wedged herself between Yu Jie and Song Shizhe, forcing them apart.

Song Shizhe and Yu Jie could only look helplessly at Tina Huo's pushy behavior.

Song Shizhe gave Yu Jie a look that said, 'Just be patient.' Yu Jie nodded slightly to show she didn't mind.

Kerry walked over to Yu Jie. "Miss Yu, do you like barbecue? We're grilling some meat—want to join us?"

"Sure," Yu Jie replied. She was curious to see what these kids were up to.

Seeing Kerry successfully lead Yu Jie away, Tina Huo immediately turned to Song Shizhe. "I'm painting right now. Want to come take a look, handsome?"

Song Shizhe remained calm. "Sure."

Kerry and Tina Huo exchanged a subtle 'OK' hand gesture.

They planned to tackle Yu Jie and Song Shizhe separately.

As for what to do after they succeeded?

They couldn't care less about that.

All they wanted was to have fun.

They'd pulled this kind of stunt before.

Whenever they saw a couple flaunting their love and it annoyed them, they'd split up, target each person, stir up trouble until the couple broke up, then ditch them after getting what they wanted.

They never cared what happened to the people they'd hurt, no matter how miserable things got for them in the end.

After getting away with it so many times, it had become a habit.

They just couldn't stand seeing other people happy together.

But tonight, they were destined to learn a hard lesson.

Yu Jie followed Kerry to the barbecue, and someone quickly made space for them so Kerry and Yu Jie could be alone.

Yu Jie noticed a lot of skewered meat already prepared, set aside in a basket ready for grilling.

Yu Jie asked, "Do the staff here even allow you to do this?"

"Why wouldn't they?" Kerry shot back. "We paid for this place."

Yu Jie pointed at everything in front of her and said, "But all this ruins the beauty of the place, doesn't it?"

"If you don't say anything and I don't say anything, who'll ever know?" Kerry replied with a mischievous grin. "Miss Yu, what do you do for work?"

Yu Jie raised her eyebrows slightly.

Looks like Tina Huo doesn't know her real identity.

Interesting.

Yu Jie answered vaguely, "I'm an assistant at a company."

"Heh, front desk?" Kerry asked dismissively. "You probably make, what, five thousand yuan a month?"

Yu Jie just smiled. The front desk at Mo Corporation made way more than five thousand a month.

Still, she didn't bother explaining—she just smiled.

Kerry finished grilling the meat and handed it to Yu Jie, speaking mysteriously, "You eat first. Once you're full, I'll grill for the others."

"It's fine, don't worry about it," Yu Jie said, not eating and just setting it aside.

"Miss Yu," Kerry suddenly moved closer, but Yu Jie instinctively put some distance between them. "Hmm?"

"They say people are prettier than flowers. I never really understood that until I saw you today," Kerry said, waving his fingers and magically producing a rose, which he handed to Yu Jie. "This is for you."

Yu Jie couldn't help but laugh.

Isn't this the kind of trick a thirteen-year-old would use to chase girls?

Are women these days really that easy to fool?

He's actually showing off with such a lame move?

Yu Jie took the flower wordlessly, sniffed it gently, then glanced at the petals and commented, "This isn't a rose, it's a type of Chinese rose. Strictly speaking, it's a Walter Uncle, red climbing variety, cultivated in England in 1963. It's quite nice—very pretty, thank you."

Kerry, still trying to look cool: "..."

This woman is something else!

She can even tell where a flower comes from just by looking at it?

Is she a botanist or something?

Kerry coughed lightly, awkwardly reining in his charm and went back to grilling meat.

Yu Jie set the Chinese rose aside and asked, "So, what kind of meat are we grilling today?"

"Lamb, beef, pork belly—the usual stuff you find at the market," Kerry replied, not daring to show off anymore. What if this woman told him the lamb was from the Hulunbuir grasslands or the beef was Tibetan?

Yu Jie made a sound of acknowledgment. "This lamb doesn't seem to be mountain goat, though."

Kerry: "..."

Here it comes, just as he expected!

He just wanted to flirt, not get a lesson in food science, okay?

This is exhausting!

He's never tried to chase a woman this hard before!

"Um, maybe we should stop grilling and go sit over there instead?" Kerry interrupted Yu Jie, eager to leave.

"Sure," Yu Jie agreed easily, getting up and following Kerry to a table on one side of the yard, where three people were already playing cards.

With Yu Jie and Kerry joining in, the five of them quickly dealt out the extra cards and started playing 'President.'

Card games were always Kerry's strong suit.

Whenever he picked up his cards, he could always make the girls shriek and envy him.

But when Yu Jie joined the table, she handled her cards coldly and played with calm precision. Her ruthless, decisive aura instantly made the others tremble.

"I win," Yu Jie said, placing her last card on the table. "So, you all lost again."

The other three were stunned!
