"Spacing out again?" Tara Chu asked, startled, when she saw the strange smile on Evan Yang's face.
"No, it's nothing. Sorry to bother you again, Miss Chu." Evan Yang replied, acting innocent.
Seeing Evan's expression, Tara Chu regretted letting him leave alone before, but was also glad she'd had Lily keep an eye on the Bai Family, preventing a needless disaster.
Their casual conversation seemed like old friends catching up, but meanwhile, furious shouts echoed from the inn where Gavin Bai was staying.
"Damn it, we almost had that kid!" Gavin Bai slammed his left hand on the chair arm, gripping his birdcage in his right, cursing loudly.

Mr. Li felt a headache coming on. Now all they could do was watch that little beggar stay with the Chu Family, unable to do anything about it.
