Human-Headed Fish-Body

2/14/2026

After settling matters with Lily Zhong, Evan Lin returned to the Zheng family estate.

Autumn Zheng had already gone back to Harborview City.

As for the follow-up with Henderson, Autumn Zheng didn’t ask much.

She knew that even if she asked, Evan Lin probably wouldn’t tell her anyway.

What really got her down was that Azure Dragon still hadn’t shown up, but Vermilion Bird did—leaving Autumn Zheng feeling pretty disappointed.

Three days later.

Lily Liang sent Evan Lin an address.

Seahaven Island.

It’s located east of Huaxia—used to be a fishing village, but after the economy took off, it was developed into a tourist island.

It’s actually not that far away.

Lily Liang originally wanted to accompany Evan Lin on the trip, but Evan Lin refused.

Evan Lin told her to just go ahead with the group and meet up at the destination.

Evan Lin checked the route: there was no direct flight from Oceanport, so he needed to first fly to Dongyang City opposite Seahaven Island, and then take a boat from Dongyang to the island.

He bought a plane ticket and boarded the flight.

When Evan Lin arrived in Dongyang City, it was exactly noon.

After leaving the airport, Evan Lin took a taxi to the harbor.

The sea breeze was gentle, and although it was already autumn, the temperature here wasn’t low. There were plenty of people around.

Evan Lin bought a ferry ticket, then picked up some snacks at the shop by the harbor.

“Seahaven Island—does it have an Ancient Martial Clan up there? Or maybe a Mysterious Ruins?”

Evan Lin’s boat hadn’t arrived yet.

Of course, he could just walk on water, or ride a water dragon straight across.

But since he’d just arrived,

Evan Lin wanted to take the ferry, observe the surroundings, and maybe discover something useful.

There was a queue for the cruise ship.

As Evan Lin was still pondering what exactly went wrong—why he couldn’t condense his Golden Core—

Suddenly, a burst of exclamations erupted from the crowd nearby.

“Ah!”

“What was that just now?”

“That’s a huge fish!”

“Is it really a fish? Why does it look like something with a human head and a fish’s body?”

The crowd’s chatter was nonstop.

About ten meters away from Evan Lin, people had already gathered densely.

Many were staring out at the sea, searching for something.

“A human head and a fish body?”

Evan Lin glanced over. All he saw was wave after wave rolling on the ocean’s surface—nothing else seemed to be there.

But the crowd kept getting bigger.

A lot of people still looked shell-shocked.

Others were just confused.

Clearly, not many had actually witnessed the scene firsthand.

“Excuse me, what just happened over there?”

Evan Lin walked over, standing at the edge of the crowd, and asked a girl who’d been tiptoeing and craning her neck for ages.

“Huh?”

The girl turned instinctively and looked at Evan Lin.

She was pretty, with a balanced figure and especially fair skin. She wasn’t stunning at first glance, but the kind you could look at for ages and never get tired of.

“Over there… someone suddenly jumped into the water, and then he turned into a person’s head with a fish’s body.”

She’d clearly seen the whole thing. As she talked, she gestured to Evan Lin, afraid he wouldn’t get it: “I really don’t know what happened exactly.”

“Maybe… maybe they’re filming a movie?”

The girl seemed a bit dazed, but was pretty friendly.

But mostly, she was still shaken by what she’d just seen.

“Are you sure—someone jumped in and turned into a human-headed fish?”

Evan Lin frowned.

Lately, he’d seen a bunch of weird news stories online.

These strange stories always got deleted fast, but every single one was baffling.

He could chalk up everything before to some expert revealing their power.

But if what the girl saw was really a person turning into a human-headed fish, then it couldn’t just be explained as a hidden master showing off.

“Maybe it was a magic trick.”

“Or… maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.”

The girl still hadn’t fully recovered. She looked at Evan Lin and realized he was actually pretty handsome.

By now, Evan Lin was already 1.8 meters tall.

He wasn’t skinny, his proportions were just right—one foot already in the door of the ‘hot guy’ club.

As his cultivation improved, Evan Lin’s appearance kept changing too.

No exaggeration—

If Evan Lin became a movie star now, he’d easily outshine most male celebrities.

The girl’s cheeks flushed slightly.

Evan Lin was still debating whether to dive into the sea and investigate.

The crowd kept discussing what they’d seen. New arrivals just listened to others’ stories, but most of them looked skeptical.

Nobody managed to snap a photo.

Some guessed maybe a legendary mermaid had appeared.

There were all sorts of theories.

“Yimeng, why are you standing here? We’re boarding soon, don’t get lost!”

A few people strode over from not far away.

The girl who spoke had her hair in a ponytail.

As soon as she spoke, Evan Lin felt she sounded familiar. He glanced over—and was stunned.

He’d actually run into acquaintances here.
