Come Meet Me

"Ah!"

Snake's hands were crushed under Evan Lin's feet.

The whole office reeked of blood, and everyone lying on the floor was wailing in pain.

"The Shaw family will never let you off!" Snake lay there, his body limp, glaring at Evan Lin with pure hatred.

He had never imagined that one day he would be completely defeated by a guy like this!

Especially that last punch from Evan Lin—the force behind it was beyond anything Snake could have imagined.

"Let's hope they don't." Evan Lin walked over to the sofa, sat down, and glanced at Big Tank. "Call Shawn Shaw over."

"Yes!" Big Tank snapped out of it and quickly agreed, then walked over to Snake, ignoring his murderous glare. He searched Snake and found a phone, then looked up Shawn Shaw's number and dialed.

Beep, beep, beep.

The phone rang three times before someone picked up.

"Hello, Snake? What's up? Why are you calling me today?" Shawn Shaw sounded impatient on the other end of the line.

A few days ago at Imperial Grand, he’d planned to get with Lily Zhong, but out of nowhere some punk crashed the scene. Not only did he miss out, he got his ass handed to him.

He’d been recuperating ever since. When he told his dad, the Dongting Tiger Barry Shaw, about it, not only did his old man refuse to send help, he even chewed him out and told him to lay low for a while.

After all, the turf war between the underground factions was about to kick off—anyone who tried to stand out now was just asking for trouble.

"Shawn, your Snake has been crippled. My boss is here in person to collect your debt. Get over to the casino and let's talk this out." Big Tank rumbled.

He felt something was off about this call. Taking down Poison Viper was one thing—he’d caught them off guard and there weren’t many people around. But now they were openly calling Shawn Shaw by name. If the Shaw family rolled in with a whole army, wouldn’t he and Evan "Nine Mysteries" Lin be done for?

But all these worries stayed in Big Tank's head. He glanced at Evan Lin sitting there so calm, and since Evan didn’t say anything, he kept quiet too.

"Are you freaking nuts? Like hell I owe anybody money! And who the hell are you? You think you took out Poison Viper…" Shawn Shaw started out furious, but then his voice got quieter, like he remembered something.

"Wait, I remember now. Your boss—isn’t he that high school punk? Huh?" Shawn sneered. "Alright then, I was just about to go find him myself. Didn’t think that little bastard would come crawling to me instead. Here to collect a debt? Fine! Sit tight, I’m coming over right now!"

Click.

Shawn Shaw hung up right after finishing his rant.

"Master, Shawn Shaw said he's coming right over." Big Tank shuffled up to Evan Lin, bowing low.

"Mm." Evan Lin sat expressionless, one hand resting on the sofa arm, his fingers tapping out a slow rhythm.

Evan Lin closed his eyes and stopped speaking, quietly running the Grand Dao Qi‑Refining Art. Streams of qi drifted through his muscles like the wind.

Qi Refining only strengthens the body, boosting force and sharpening the five senses.

Only by reaching Foundation Establishment and forging a Dao foundation can one command wind and rain or kill at a distance.

Dealing with Snake and his crew hadn’t taken much effort. Even at just third-level Qi Refining, Evan Lin was already a monster compared to ordinary people.

A faint white mist drifted around Evan Lin’s body, swirling gently. The room’s lights were dim, and unless you looked close, you’d barely notice it.

......

"Damn it!"

In a lavishly decorated hotel room, Shawn Shaw’s face was so dark it looked like it could drip water. He cursed viciously.

"What's wrong, Shawn? Who dares piss you off?"

On the huge, spotless white bed, the covers were thrown back, revealing a woman’s heavily made-up face.

She wasn’t wearing anything, her face flushed, and her eyes still held a trace of lingering pleasure.

She reached out with a pale, slender arm and wrapped it around Shawn Shaw’s bare torso, giggling coyly.

"Just some broke student with a death wish! Came here to collect a debt." Shawn licked his lips. His face was still pale—he’d spent the past few days venting all his frustration in bed.

"A broke student? There’s actually someone in Brightsea City dumb enough to mess with you? He must have a death wish." The woman sneered.

"Doesn’t matter. Since he’s come knocking, I’m not letting him leave in one piece." Just thinking about what happened at Imperial Grand made Shawn’s face even gloomier.

Shawn Shaw threw off the covers, swung his casted right leg out, got dressed, and hobbled toward the door.

"Shawn, come back after you’re done, okay? I still want you." The woman called out shyly as Shawn opened the door to leave.

"Hahaha, relax, you little fox. When I get back, I’ll make sure you’re screaming for more!" Shawn Shaw slammed the door, feeling great.

Last time was at Imperial Grand, not on his own turf, so he’d ended up on the losing side.

But this time, that punk actually dared to cause trouble in Eastcourt District. Shawn was determined to settle the score.

As for what the guy on the phone said about Snake being crippled, Shawn was skeptical. But even if it was true, so what? Snake was just one underling.

As soon as Shawn left, the woman’s bashful look vanished. She glanced at the door and cursed, "Three seconds and three inches—he thinks he could satisfy me? Dream on, loser!"

After ranting, she got out of bed, grabbed her phone, and dialed a number. Her voice turned syrupy sweet: "Hello, Vic? Shawn just left. Apparently some broke student came to smash up his place and collect a debt."

"Yeah, I got it."

The call ended quickly. In Imperial Grand KTV, Victor Yu sat with his eyes closed, deep in thought.

A broke student coming to smash up the place and collect a debt?

Victor Yu slowly opened his eyes, frowning. "Could it really be Evan 'Nine Mysteries' Lin, coming alone to Eastcourt District to demand that million?" he muttered.

With that thought, Victor Yu fell into deep contemplation.
