Two Pillows

Evan Xiao frowned. "Who told you about her?"

"I heard it from Princess and Shang Zhi. They said when you were searching for the Saint Maiden... you got close to her."

Raina Zane's tone was full of jealousy, which only made Grace more determined to avoid her, shrinking further into the corner.

Evan Xiao replied, "No."

"Then why are you here, Evan?"

"I told you, I have business," Evan Xiao said.

Business...

Raina Zane felt defeated, but didn't dare to press further. She just asked, "So when are we going back?"

"Tomorrow."

"Alright then! Senior Brother, you should eat something. It's really good." Raina pointed to the breakfast.

Evan Xiao nodded and said, "Go call Leon Zane and Ian Zhu here for a meeting. You're dismissed!"

"Yes!" Raina Zane turned and left.

Grace peeked out from behind the screen and asked, "Is she gone?"

"Why are you hiding?" Evan Xiao's face darkened.

"That was Leon Zane's sister, right?"

"So what if she is?"

You have no idea—Leon Zane used to give me so much trouble because of his sister. Now that I've met her in person, shouldn't I hide? Bianca Whiteshire is already more drama than I can handle. If there's another one, seriously, how am I supposed to survive all this chaos?

Evan Xiao stayed silent, his expression grim.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Grace came over and picked up the food. "If you won't eat, I'll take it! I'm starving!"

With that, she grabbed the lunchbox and dashed off.

Evan Xiao: "..."

...

Soon enough, Leon Zane and Ian Zhu arrived.

Leon Zane walked in, looking around sneakily.

When his eyes landed on the bed and saw that both pillows had clear signs of being slept on, his expression grew very interesting.

"Leon Zane, was it you who let her in last night?" Evan Xiao asked.

The place they were staying was guarded outside.

"Huh? No way!" Leon Zane shook his head firmly. "I definitely didn't let Grace in!"

Evan Xiao couldn't help but laugh at his stupidity. "Did I say it was Grace?"

Leon Zane: "Uh... Well, I just thought, she's a girl, and you abandoned her so heartlessly... Poor thing..."

"If this happens again, the pitiful one will be you."

Leon Zane hung his head. "I wouldn't dare..."

Evan Xiao looked at them. "Why do you think I'm here?"

"Huh?" Leon Zane blinked, trying hard to avoid the 'Grace' topic. "I don't know. Maybe Your Highness has something important to do here."

"What important thing?"

"To see Grace," Ian Zhu blurted out.

Seeing Evan Xiao's expression change, he quickly pointed at Leon Zane. "He said it!"

"When did I say that?"

"You've been saying it! Since yesterday!"

"I did not!" Leon Zane protested, face red and neck tense. "I really didn't!"

"Enough! With these two goofballs around, my worries just keep piling up. If anyone mentions 'Grace' again, I'll make sure they never speak another word!"

The two immediately shut up.

"I read the ancient stone records," Evan Xiao said seriously. "They say that during the Fiend invasion in ancient times, the King's Spirit Tree withered in great numbers."

"Huh?" Leon Zane's eyes widened. "You don't mean to say our King's Spirit Tree in Drake Abyss is dying because of a Fiend invasion, do you?"

"No doubt, that's exactly what His Highness thinks! No wonder you were digging around under the tree. But didn't we come up empty-handed?"
