Helpless Crowd

At this moment, I noticed in a bustling district, dozens of Underworld Denizens seemed to be waiting for something. They held Soul-Gathering Gourds, and whenever someone died from long-term ghost possession, they would immediately use the gourds to collect these souls.

Yet in such dense Yin energy, even those from the supernatural world found it difficult to move. I followed Tan Tian through the city, which felt plunged into deathly silence. Gradually, I saw massive steel-framed structures at Jiulong Square, where many from the supernatural world were coming and going, carrying people.

On the left, many monks gathered, sitting quietly and chanting scriptures. On the right were the Daoist practitioners. We, the Underworld Denizens, were in the center, nearly ten thousand of us assembled in the square. They stood in small groups, seemingly communicating, and constantly moved in and out, apparently to collect souls at the moment of death. I descended among them.

Soon, my parents and the Underworld Denizens approached. From the Daoist side, only Samuel Young came over, smiling helplessly.

"When did this start?"

I asked. My father sighed and replied.

"It started more than a month ago."

"So it really is like this!"

I lowered my head in silence. Thinking carefully, perhaps Emperor God and the others had already anticipated that I would disrupt their method of power extraction, so maybe they had transferred most of their accumulated strength to the living world over a month ago, using the portion of Heavenly Law they had previously obtained.

Afterwards, my parents led me to the top of a steel-framed building. Once seated, my mother began to recount everything that had happened in the past two months.
