Seeking a Solution

Chairman paused for a moment before speaking: "To be honest, these forbidden drugs are used for certain taboo research. They're mainly tested on animals, and although there have been human experiments, no one considered developing a cure."

Charles Yin immediately understood what he meant.

All the test subjects in these experiments were simply discarded after death, so there was never any need for treatment. That's why they never studied an antidote.

However, the Japanese are known for their meticulousness.

Charles Yin refused to believe they hadn't left themselves any backup plan!

Sure enough, Chairman Inagawa continued, "Of course, the Forbidden Serum isn't without its weaknesses. What it destroys is the central nervous system in the brain. Actually, rather than 'destroy,' it's more like... 'seal.'"

Once again, Charles Yin instantly understood.

"Did Mrs. Charles Yin take any countermeasures after taking the Forbidden Serum?" Chairman Inagawa asked.

"Yes, she took the Yun Family Secret Medicine. But her memory was implanted with a template and completely sealed off," Charles Yin nodded and replied. "She can't remember anything from before at all."

Chairman Inagawa immediately laughed, "If it were anyone else, I might not be confident. But if it's someone from the Yun Family, then my confidence increases greatly. The Yun Family's pharmacology is world-leading. But, Charles-san, are you sure you want Mrs. Charles Yin to regain her memory? If she does, she will remember some things from the past, but all her memories from the past three years will be completely lost."

Charles Yin's gaze turned cold. "Is there really no other way?"

To choose to remember the past means having to forget the present.

But this was exactly the outcome Charles Yin didn't want.

Chairman Inagawa shook his head regretfully, but then suddenly asked, "Did you just say the Yun Family implanted a memory template for Mrs. Charles Yin?"

Charles Yin nodded, "Yes."

Chairman Inagawa lowered his eyelids, then after a while, spoke slowly: "Maybe there is hope. When a memory template is implanted, the old and new memories collide, making it easy for the original memories to be wiped clean. The way to deal with this is deep hypnosis. Under hypnosis, her memories will be put to sleep. So, if the deep hypnosis is lifted, maybe both sets of memories can coexist. But this is only theoretical. In practice, no one has ever done this before. Charles-san, you must think carefully before making a decision."

Charles Yin's expression grew even more serious.

"With the Forbidden Serum developed by the Inagawa-kai, there might be a slightly higher chance of success," Chairman Inagawa continued. "The research institute hasn't released any official results yet, so please be patient for a few more days, Charles-san."

Charles Yin nodded, his long, narrow eyes lowering slightly to hide the chill in his gaze.

"So, is there any of that Forbidden Serum left? Chairman Inagawa, you know I'm not one to let a grudge go!" Charles Yin joked, as if casually.

The Chairman glanced quickly at Charles Yin and smiled, "Anyone else would get nothing, but if you ask, Charles-san, we'll make sure there's some available—even if we have to find it!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the two men exchanged glances and laughed together.

Charles Yin had a very good relationship with the Yamaguchi-gumi.

The Inagawa-kai had never managed to connect with Charles Yin until now.

Now, taking advantage of this opportunity, they finally met Charles Yin. Naturally, the Inagawa-kai would do everything in their power to make things right.

When saying goodbye, the Chairman casually asked, "Clarence is also competing in the tea art competition this time. Charles-san, I hope you'll go easy on her!"

Charles Yin smiled faintly, "That depends on whether my wife decides to show mercy or not."

As soon as he finished speaking, the two shrewd men laughed together.

Sitting in the car, Charles Yin leaned back against the seat.

A whispered report came from Xiao A: "Mrs. Yin and the other members of the national team have all checked into the hotel."

"Yes, head straight to Tokyo," Charles Yin said tiredly. "And make sure someone keeps an eye on the Inagawa-kai. Cici's antidote cannot afford any mistakes! Once you get the drug's components, send them directly to the Yun Family. I want to see how they respond."

"Yes, President," Xiao A replied immediately.

Clarence received the Chairman's message and immediately became anxious. "Godfather, how could you agree to Charles so easily? Didn't you say you'd help me win him over?"

Chairman Inagawa's eyes darkened. "Good child, that man is not someone you should covet. If you really like Asian men, as long as you're in Japan, anyone you fancy—except for the royal family and cabinet members—your godfather will get for you."

"I don't want anyone else! I just want Charles Yin!" Clarence shouted angrily. "Didn't you promise you'd help me win him over? Why did you suddenly change your mind?"

A sudden change of heart? There must be a reason!

Charles Yin isn't stupid; why would he give the Inagawa-kai shares of his own company for nothing?

He's being cautious—especially about Clarence!

He doesn't care about money, but he does care whether Cici gets angry or jealous!

He would never let any woman become a roadblock on his way to win back his wife!

Clarence chased them all the way to Japan—she definitely wouldn't give up easily.

Since it's hard to deal with her openly, it's time to cut her off at the source!

As long as the Chairman of the Inagawa-kai stands with him, there's no need to worry about Clarence causing trouble!

To put it bluntly, Clarence is just an adopted daughter. Even if she were a biological daughter, absolute interests would still come first.

The meaning behind the Yin Consortium and the Yin Family is self-evident.

If Charles Yin himself offers an olive branch, the Chairman of the Inagawa-kai would be crazy to refuse.

Getting connected with Charles Yin means the Inagawa-kai is now linked internationally.

He'd be out of his mind to refuse such a profitable deal.

Chairman Inagawa's voice turned cold as he said, "I've watched you grow up. You're being so willful—how am I supposed to explain this to your father? No matter how good Charles Yin is, he's a married man."

"They're already divorced!" Clarence protested, still unconvinced.

"To people like us, do you really think that piece of paperwork matters?" the Chairman snorted coldly. "While you're in Japan, you'd better behave and not cause trouble. Otherwise, I might not be able to protect you."

After hanging up, Clarence angrily smashed her phone onto the floor!

"I don't care if you're Cecilia Gu or Yun Xi, this man is mine! We'll see about that!" Clarence's beautiful face twisted with rage. After smashing everything in the room, she suddenly remembered something and shouted, "Bring me my phone!"

Her phone was already smashed to pieces, but a servant quickly brought her a brand-new, identical one.

Clarence immediately dialed a number: "Earl Field, I have a plan I'd like to cooperate with you on. Are you interested?"

"Cooperate?" Earl Field's cheerful voice came through the receiver. "What kind of good plan could you possibly have?"

Earl Field's dismissive tone infuriated Clarence. She blurted out, "I want Charles Yin, and you want that Chinese woman, right? Let's work together! You get the woman, and Charles Yin is mine!"

Earl Field, about to hang up, paused for a moment and then laughed lightly. "Where are you now?"

"Japan, Nara," Clarence replied with a cold smile. "I hope you won't disappoint me, Earl."

After hanging up, Earl Field calmly set down his wine glass and said to Duke Field, who was sitting across from him, "Father, would you like a daughter-in-law?"

Duke Field, who was savoring his wine, nearly fell out of his chair.

Duke Field has three sons. The eldest is frail and sickly, struggling even to get out of bed, so it's unlikely he'll carry on the family line.

The second is a science fanatic, always holed up in the lab and ignoring all social events. Forget women—even if it were a man, Duke Field would be relieved.

The youngest is normal, but unfortunately, he's a staunch bachelor who refuses to marry or have children.

Although Europeans don't care about heirs as much as the Chinese do, surely someone has to inherit the family fortune, right?

Duke Field had already given up on his three sons and was planning to extract their genes for a surrogate. Then, out of the blue, his youngest son dropped this bombshell.

The old duke was so shocked by his youngest son that he nearly lost his soul.

"You don't mind if she's Chinese, do you, Father?" Earl Field smiled lightly. "Having another child is just too much trouble. Why not let her bring one along?"

Leaving these words behind, the handsome and slightly androgynous Earl Field stood up and left. "Father, I'm going away for a few days. I hope when I come back, I can fulfill your wish."

The old duke was stunned by his son, completely unable to react.

Earl Field was always unpredictable—even the old duke couldn't figure him out.

After Earl Field left by car, the old duke finally let out a sigh and muttered to himself, "As long as the Field Family gets an heir, I don't care if you three never marry for the rest of your lives!"

Cici held her room key, just about to open the door to her room.

Before she could even bring the key card close, she heard a low voice coming from the next room: "Rest assured, since I've taken your money, I'll make sure the job is done to your satisfaction. How miserable do you want Miss Cecilia Grant to be? This is Japan—if things are handled well, making someone disappear from this world isn't all that difficult."

The person was speaking Japanese.

Yet everyone living on this floor was a member of the Chinese team—advisors, translators, and other participants.

Moreover, the hotel was booked by the organizers for the contestants; it wasn't open to the public at all.

Cici hadn't intended to eavesdrop, but that sentence still made its way into her ears.

If it had been someone else, maybe they wouldn't have understood and just let it go.

But Cici was extremely fluent in Japanese.

Cici's pupils contracted sharply!

Someone was targeting her!

And that person had been bought off!

Who was it? Who wanted to quietly get rid of her while she was in Japan?

Just as Cici hesitated about whether to keep listening, a string of footsteps suddenly sounded behind her.
