"Human, you actually dared to come into Weakwater and slaughter my little brothers? You clearly don't take me, the Blacksteel King, seriously at all!" the monster suddenly said.
Evan Chu was taken aback—so this guy called itself the Blacksteel King? That must mean these monsters are Blacksteel Beasts. He hadn’t expected a monster to evolve enough to speak human language; this was no ordinary opponent.
"Blacksteel King, huh? That name is pretty badass. But are you as much of a weakling as your little brothers, or do you actually have some real strength? Let me see if you’re worthy of calling yourself king!" Evan taunted.
His heart-sense had pinpointed the enemy’s location—less than five meters away. But moving quickly in Weakwater was nearly impossible for Evan.
"Human, you’re courting death! My Blacksteel Clan has survived in Weakwater for tens of millions of years—how dare you insult us? Today, I’ll show you the consequences of killing my little brothers!" the Blacksteel King roared.
The Blacksteel King suddenly charged at Evan. Evan knew it was attacking, so he quickly unleashed the sixth form of the Demon-Breaking Fist Manual to meet it head-on.
Boom! A thunderous sound echoed at the bottom of Weakwater. The clash of immense energies formed a massive whirlpool, sending Weakwater spraying several meters high.
On the shore, Selena’s heart jolted. Only a collision of such power could cause this—Evan must be fighting a truly formidable monster. She couldn’t help but worry.
Evan’s fist collided directly with the monster’s claw. The huge recoil knocked him back several meters, and the Goldscale Coat’s barrier dimmed noticeably from the impact.
But the Blacksteel King only retreated a few steps—its strength was clear. The Blacksteel King was actually stronger than Evan’s full-force attack.
"Fireshift’s power will be greatly weakened in Weakwater, so beating him will be tough. But you still have one life-saving trump card—if things get desperate, use it. Even if you can’t kill him, you should be able to blast him out of the water, and then Selena can handle him," Luna advised.
Evan thought about Luna’s words and suddenly remembered he still had one use of Lion Spirit Fist left. He recalled the Bloodshadow Berserker Lion saying the stronger he got, the more powerful Lion Spirit Fist would become.
But after this use, he couldn’t use it again—unless Shadow, the lion cub, could help him someday.
Thinking of Shadow made Evan feel a bit helpless. If this weren’t Weakwater, Shadow’s unique devouring power might not defeat the Blacksteel King, but at least he could easily kill the smaller Blacksteel Beasts.
"Trying to stall for time? I’m not waiting around for you!" the Blacksteel King snapped.
Evan replied, "I’m just worried you won’t be able to answer and then refuse to admit it. What’ll we do then?"
"Ha! I, the Blacksteel King, am not like you humans who break their word. If I can answer, I’ll answer; if not, I’ll accept your terms," the Blacksteel King declared.
"Alright, I’ll ask you three questions. If you can answer honestly, you win," Evan said.
"First question: How did your Blacksteel Clan come to be?" Evan asked.
"The Blacksteel Clan was formed through millions of years of evolution from Blacksteel molecules. Such a simple question—are you trying to mess with me, kid?" the Blacksteel King retorted.
Evan couldn’t see the Blacksteel King, but the contempt in his voice was obvious. Evan grinned, "Here’s my second question: I’ve heard there’s a Water Spirit Pearl in Weakwater—do you know where it is?"
The Blacksteel King instantly grew furious. "Kid, I gave you a chance, and you dare insult my clan? You must have a death wish!"
He prepared to attack, but Evan said, "Hold on—aren’t you going to answer my question first?"
"Of course the Water Spirit Pearl is with me. Any treasure that appears in Weakwater ends up with me—how could you not know that? Are you trying to make a fool of me?" the Blacksteel King said, clearly enraged.
Evan was shocked—the Water Spirit Pearl was on him. Getting it would be a real challenge.
"Third question—if you can tell me my name, I’ll admit your Blacksteel Clan is truly wise. If not, you lose," Evan laughed.
Evan felt a little embarrassed—no matter how clever the Blacksteel King was, he couldn’t possibly know the answer.
Sure enough, the Blacksteel King protested, "That doesn’t count—how would I know your name? Ask something else!"
"If you can’t answer, you lose. So you have to agree to one condition," Evan said.
The Blacksteel King hesitated. Even with intelligence, he was still far behind humans.
"What do you want me to agree to? My clan always keeps its word. But I warn you—don’t play tricks, or I’ll kill you!" the Blacksteel King threatened.
Evan suddenly had an idea and laughed, "I think the Blacksteel Clan is a truly great race. I want to become sworn brothers with the Blacksteel King—what do you say?"
