The Beast King Appears

1/19/2026

Who was Roxy Lin? She was one of the most important women in Evan Chu’s heart. Seeing her hurt, there was no way Evan could swallow this humiliation—he had to vent his rage. The Frostbane Sword flashed into his hand.

The Beast prince’s face changed slightly. Evan had just sent his subordinate flying with a single palm—clearly, this guy wasn’t simple. But he wasn’t afraid; he still had a Venerable Martial Realm expert at his side. No matter how strong this punk was, he couldn’t possibly match a Venerable. Since Evan wanted to die, he’d grant his wish.

Even though this was Nine‑Shade City, with his status, Lord Nine‑Shade should give him face. With that thought, he immediately shouted, “Today, kill this brat for me! I want him to know exactly who he can’t afford to provoke!”

Evan didn’t bother replying. All he wanted was to kill these people as quickly as possible. The Frostbane Sword in his hand slashed out, unleashing a Heaven‑Cleave fused with five elements and lightning. He wouldn’t give them a chance to catch their breath.

Heaven‑Cleave’s power was terrifying—a gigantic arc of sword‑qi erupted from the Frostbane Sword, slamming straight into the group attacking Princess Ivy. "Boom!" The deafening blast rippled through the crowd, warping the space around them. The attackers were sent flying like kites with snapped strings, hurled far into the distance.

That single strike tore their bodies into pieces—severed limbs and broken arms scattered across the ground. The massive crack in the street stretched for dozens of meters, and several shops in Nine‑Shade City collapsed instantly from the shockwave.

Even some of the bystanders weren’t spared—caught in the crossfire of Evan’s sword, they were killed on the spot. If you wanted to watch the spectacle, you had to pay the price.

With a single move, Evan slaughtered them all—three Ninth‑Layer Saint Martial experts erased with one blow. That was the kind of power he wielded.

The Beast prince and his middle‑aged bodyguard shot into the air the moment Evan swung his sword. If they hadn’t dodged, even if they survived, they’d have been left utterly humiliated.

“Young master, this guy is insanely strong—he’s not weaker than me at all. We’re in serious trouble,” the bodyguard whispered to the prince.

“Don’t worry. I’m sure my father, the Beast King, will be here any moment. You just need to stall him for a while. I want to see how he dies. Who’d have thought this guy was a genius too? But in this world, there shouldn’t be any other geniuses but me—so he’s fated to die.” The prince sneered.

The power Evan had just shown struck terror into the crowd. Everyone scattered like their mothers had died, fleeing in all directions until the place was cleared out—only Evan, Roxy, and Princess Ivy remained.

Such chaos in Nine‑Shade City naturally drew attention. Patrol guards soon rushed over. Seeing the devastation, one roared, “Who’s got the guts to cause such havoc in Nine‑Shade City? Arrest everyone involved!”

“Get lost, or I’ll have your heads rolling!” Princess Ivy exploded, dropping all pretense. With things blown up this badly, her father was bound to be alerted.

The guard glanced at Princess Ivy and instantly dropped to his knees. “I didn’t know the Princess was here! Please forgive me for disturbing you—punish me as you see fit!”

“Out of my sight! Today I want that brat dead. Go notify the city’s commanders—seal all of Nine‑Shade City, and don’t let those two escape no matter what.” Princess Ivy pointed to the two figures in the air.

“Yes, Princess!” The guard hurried off with the other soldiers, while the prince and his bodyguard were left looking grim and defeated.

They never imagined that the servant boy was actually Princess Ivy of Nine‑Shade City. Now it was too late for regrets—they could only hope the Beast King would come clean up the mess.

Meanwhile, in the City Lord’s Mansion, Lord Nine‑Shade was startled—someone actually dared stir up trouble in Nine‑Shade City! Maybe he hadn’t reminded people of the rules in too long; they were forgetting how things worked here.

“Second Elder, come with me to Nine‑Shade City—I want to see who’s got the guts to fight in my city!” Lord Nine‑Shade declared.

At that moment, Evan soared into the sky and shouted at the prince, “Weren’t you acting tough before? Show me that arrogance now! Today, no one’s saving you!”

He spun the Frostbane Sword, sending a flurry of sword‑qi toward the prince. The middle‑aged bodyguard finally moved, swinging a massive gray saber and slashing with all his strength at Evan.

“Courting death!” Evan roared. He flashed aside, unleashing another Heaven‑Cleave to meet the saber. The air shook violently as their attacks collided—neither side gaining the upper hand. Both were blasted back dozens of meters before regaining their footing.

But the destruction on the ground was even worse—a whole swath of buildings lay in ruins, countless people were injured. Evan was startled: this middle‑aged man could actually withstand his Heaven‑Cleave. That meant he was at least Second‑Layer Venerable Martial Realm. Evan knew he had to kill him quickly, or it’d be hard to act once Lord Nine‑Shade arrived.

Evan was surprised, but the bodyguard was even more shocked. He knew the power of his own saber, yet this kid could block it head‑on. Now his whole arm was numb, like he’d been struck by lightning—he could barely hold onto his weapon.

If he hadn’t forced himself to endure the pain, his weakness would’ve been exposed right away. Now, dragging things out until the Beast King arrived was looking less and less likely.

“Not bad, but you’re still no match for me!” Evan snapped, swinging the Frostbane Sword and unleashing another Heaven‑Cleave.

He refused to use Star‑Cleave—its power was too overwhelming. If he unleashed it in Nine‑Shade City, he might destroy half the place, and Lord Nine‑Shade would never forgive him.

Just as Evan unleashed his sword, a massive palm force suddenly struck—his Heaven‑Cleave was dissolved in an instant, and the blow sent him flying a hundred meters, blood surging in his chest and his sword arm numb.

Evan’s heart skipped a beat—he hadn’t expected such a formidable expert in Nine‑Shade City. He looked over and saw that the attacker was a burly middle‑aged man.

“Beast King, isn’t it a bit much to go after a junior like this?” Lord Nine‑Shade’s voice rang out from above, and he appeared before Evan.

“Are you alright? What on earth happened here?” Lord Nine‑Shade asked anxiously, clearly concerned about Evan.

“I’m fine. So that’s the Beast King? Good. If I wasn’t worried about destroying Nine‑Shade City, I’d finish both of them with a single sword strike.” Evan replied, his gaze fixed on the burly man.
