Return to Shadowlin City

1/19/2026

After Evan Chu explained his departure to the people at the mansion, he set out with the three women and Sean Xiao. Skyspear City wasn't far from Human territory, and at their current speed, they'd reach it in at most a day.

Of course, that's assuming they're flying. If Evan used teleportation, it would take at most half a stick of incense. Evan decided to first visit the very first city he arrived at in the Netherworld—Shadowlin City. Maybe Feiyu was still there.

Along the way, the three women chatted and laughed, completely ignoring Evan and Sean, leaving the two men feeling bored. Finally, Sean couldn't help but say, "I'll go ahead and check out the situation in Human territory. You guys take your time!"

Without waiting for Evan’s response, Sean directly teleported away. "Evan, we’re pretty impressive, aren’t we? We managed to drive that old guy Sean off—now no one’s here to bother us. Shouldn’t you pay up for what happened last night?" Princess Ivy teased.

"Pay up? I was exhausted last night! I didn’t even ask you for anything, so you want me to pay? Are you kidding me? Maybe I should go check on Sean—he might be in danger." Evan grumbled.

"What if you leave and we run into danger? Would you really be okay with that?" Faye Knox interjected.

Evan shot Faye a look of disbelief. How long had it been? Faye was actually starting to act mischievous now. How was he supposed to survive the days ahead? Luckily, his Roxy hadn’t changed at all.

But just then, Roxanne Lin said something that almost made Evan fall out of the sky: "Evan, I’ve put up with you long enough. If you dare leave today, from now on you’re not allowed to touch any woman—including Ivy and Faye!"

"No way, Roxy—when did you get so fierce? You’re supposed to be my gentle goddess! It must be Ivy corrupting you. You really do become like those around you!" Evan said helplessly.

Roxy flashed a triumphant smile and, seeing Evan’s current expression, added, "I’m still the same old me! I just can’t bear to be apart from you, that’s all. Is that so wrong? Are you mad at me?"

Evan felt goosebumps spring up all over his body. Her tone had changed so much—he really couldn’t figure out what she was saying. "Alright, I won’t leave you guys. It was just a joke, no need for such a strong reaction."

After flying for another hour or so, Evan couldn’t stand the slow pace any longer. "Let me fly you there instead. At this rate, when will we ever reach Shadowlin City? Hold on tight!" he said.

Evan grabbed Roxanne’s and Faye’s hands, and had Princess Ivy wrap her arms around his waist. With a thought, he began teleporting. Carrying three women made teleportation much harder—the range was cut by more than half, and the drain on his Chaos Dragon Force was huge. But Evan ignored all that, determined to reach Shadowlin City as fast as possible.

The wind roared past their ears as they traveled. The three women stopped talking, and an hour later, they finally arrived. Descending from the sky, the four of them saw that Shadowlin City was still bustling—carriages and crowds everywhere, as if no one knew the Humans’ strongest had died. The gate guards were still collecting entrance fees.

A handsome young man accompanied by three stunning women naturally drew plenty of attention in Shadowlin City. The man was striking, and the women were breathtakingly beautiful—three at once, making for a truly eye-catching sight.

Evan ignored the curious stares and walked straight to the city gate. The guards felt he looked familiar but couldn’t place him. They wouldn’t dare offend someone like him—these ‘young masters’ were usually backed by powerful clans, and crossing one could easily cost them their lives.

Without another word, Evan handed over a hundred Netherstones and entered the city with Roxanne and the others. He deliberately slowed his pace, drawing even more attention. If necessary, he could stir up a commotion—if Feiyu was here, she might show herself.

Actually, Evan figured there were only two places Feiyu was likely to appear—either the City Lord’s Mansion in Shadowlin City, or Zander Xiang’s royal capital. But he thought Shadowlin City was the more probable spot.

"Evan, these people are so annoying, staring at us like that. I really want to teach them a lesson. You wouldn’t mind, right?" Princess Ivy couldn’t help complaining.

"Ivy, it’s just because you’re all so beautiful. It’s normal for people to stare. Unless someone actually insults you or acts rude, there’s no need to overreact. You wouldn’t want to ruin your image as a beauty, would you?" Evan joked.

Princess Ivy shot Evan a glare and fell silent. The flight had tired everyone out, so Evan decided to find a restaurant to rest and get the latest news about Shadowlin City.

The four of them quickly caught the attention of those with sharp eyes, especially since the three women’s beauty made some people drool with envy. Not long after they entered Fragrant Grove Inn, two figures darted toward the City Lord’s Mansion.

"Young Master, this is huge! Three absolute beauties just arrived in town—they’re eating at Fragrant Grove Inn right now. If you could win them over, that’d be incredible." a servant said respectfully to a lavishly dressed youth.

"Is that true? You’re not lying to me, are you? Are those three really as beautiful as you say? How do they compare to Miss Xiaoping from Heavenfragrance Pavilion?" the youth asked eagerly, a wicked smile flashing across his face.

"Miss Xiaoping doesn’t even compare—they’re worlds apart! Plenty of young masters from big clans have already gone over. If you’re late, you might miss your chance," the servant replied.

"Let’s go! We have to see this for ourselves!" the youth declared, getting ready to head out.

"Wait! Who else is with those girls?" asked another youth in white robes, holding a folding fan.

"There’s a young man with them—very handsome. But none of the four seem strong; everyone thinks they’re just young masters and ladies from powerful clans out for a stroll. Nothing to worry about," the servant said.

"Don’t worry. Just come with me and see for yourself. In Shadowlin City, who would dare disrespect me?" the lavishly dressed youth boasted.

The youth with the folding fan nodded and left with the others. But in his heart, he was murmuring to himself: "Lin Feng, is that you? You’ve finally come to Shadowlin City."
