Under the moonlight, Roxanne Lin's skin appeared crystal clear and flawless, as smooth as white jade. Every time Evan Chu's fingers touched her skin, her body would tremble ever so slightly.
Evan Chu was incredibly nervous, sweat dripping uncontrollably from his forehead. Though Roxanne Lin kept her eyes closed, she could clearly sense Evan's rapid breathing.
When Evan finally removed Roxanne's last layer of clothing, he felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him. At that moment, a faint blush spread across Roxanne's pale skin.
"Kid, what are you dawdling for? Hurry up and do what you need to do!" The Sword Spirit's voice sounded in his mind.
If the Sword Spirit hadn't spoken up, Evan might have lost control—he was already so aroused it was hard to bear, desperate for release.
The Sword Spirit's voice was like a bucket of cold water, instantly snapping Evan out of his haze of desire. "You're not peeking, are you?"
"Tch, why would I bother peeking at a kid fumbling around? I'm just reminding you to hurry up!"
Evan didn't reply. He understood what the Sword Spirit meant—this would definitely take a long time. So he hurriedly stripped off his own clothes and threw himself onto the now completely bare Roxanne Lin...
With the Sword Spirit, that voyeur, watching, Evan managed to keep a shred of clarity the whole time. But when he entered Roxanne's body, he immediately felt a rush of cold.
It was as if he'd plunged straight into an ice cellar—he couldn't help but shiver.
"Quick, absorb the stellar force and inject it into her body!" The Sword Spirit urged him again.
Evan's face was burning red—having someone watch him do this so directly was truly embarrassing.
Roxanne, lying beneath him, was even more at a loss. All Evan could feel was her heartbeat growing faster and faster...
Time ticked by. After completing three full circulations, dawn was already breaking. At that moment, Evan finally couldn't hold back any longer, and a wild storm erupted atop Flowing Cloud Mountain...
The morning sun rose early—a new day began. Evan and Roxanne were already dressed; if not for the chaotic, trampled weeds on the ground, no one would ever know what had happened here last night.
"Roxanne, do you blame me?" Evan asked softly after everything was over.
"No, because I love you!" After being nourished by the rain and dew, Roxanne became even more gentle and affectionate.
At that moment, Evan saw a face he couldn't tear his eyes away from. "Roxanne, your... your mark..."
Before Evan could finish, Roxanne interrupted, "What is it? Is it still the same as before?"
"No, it's not. Roxanne, the mark on your face is gone, but now there's a small red dot between your brows—almost like a woman's cinnabar mark."
Hearing that the mark on her face had disappeared, Roxanne broke into a radiant, joyful smile—so pure and beautiful that Evan was utterly captivated.
Seeing Evan staring at her nonstop, Roxanne's face flushed slightly. "Evan, what are you looking at?"
"You're so beautiful!" That was all Evan could feel right now—the Roxanne before him was like a fairy, her beauty beyond words.
Hearing praise from the one she loved, Roxanne felt sweeter than honey. "Let's go back. We've been out all night—I bet they're all worried sick."
When Evan and Roxanne returned home, the Lin Family members were already getting ready to leave.
When everyone saw the woman holding hands with Evan Chu, they were so shocked they couldn't even speak.
"Who is that? She's gorgeous! When did Evan Chu meet such a beauty? Didn't he just get engaged to the Lin Family's Third Miss yesterday?" one clan junior exclaimed in surprise.
"Her clothes look just like what the Third Miss Lin wore yesterday. Could she be the Third Miss herself?"
"Are you out of your mind? How could that ugly girl compare to her? How could a loser like him know someone like this?"
The gossip didn't stop, but Evan and Roxanne just exchanged smiles, both feeling incredibly happy inside.
When the Lin Family members saw Roxanne Lin, they were even more at a loss—especially Sophia Lin. She simply couldn't believe that the person standing before her was her own third sister.
Roxanne's beauty now surpassed her own, and that was a fact Sophia just couldn't accept. "You, you... how did you become like this?"
"Second Sister, surprised? Weren't you always flaunting your looks in front of me? Now, to me, you're just so-so!" Roxanne finally got her chance to strike back at Sophia.
"You... you..." Sophia was so stunned she couldn't get a word out.
Leon Lin was also deeply shocked, but quickly regained his composure—he was certain Roxanne's transformation had something to do with Evan Chu.
He glared angrily at Roxanne and said, "So you really forget your family once you have a man, huh? The thing is, you're not even married yet, and you dare stay out all night. Just wait till we get home—I'll teach you a lesson!"
His words were clearly aimed at Evan, who naturally wouldn't let it go. "Leon, you're Roxanne's brother, and I'm her fiancé. If you dare treat Roxanne badly, I won't let you off—remember what I said, don't blame me for not warning you, future big brother-in-law!"
"The humiliation I suffered yesterday, I'll pay it back sooner or later. Evan Chu, just you wait!" Leon snapped, then stormed off without caring about anyone else.
Sophia glared at Evan with hatred. "The shame you gave me yesterday—I’ll return it to you. In my eyes, you’ll always be a loser! And you too, Roxanne—don’t think you’re anything special."
Evan didn't bother to argue. For a self-important girl like Sophia, he had no time to waste bickering.
Evan took out a small wooden sword and said, "This wooden sword was my childhood toy. I've never been willing to throw it away. Today, I want to give it to you—whenever you see it, it'll be like seeing me. Remember what I promised you!"
Roxanne accepted the wooden sword and then took out a blue jade pendant from her own belongings. Its surface shimmered with spiritual energy. "Evan, I want to give you this Blue Spirit Jade Pendant. It helps refresh the mind and will be a great aid in your martial training!"

"Roxanne Lin, you prodigal girl! That Blue Spirit Jade Pendant is a Lin Family treasure—how can you just give it away to an outsider?"
Sophia hadn't gone far. Hearing Roxanne's words, she stopped in her tracks and turned back, clearly upset.
Back then, she had begged their father for the pendant but never got it. Seeing Roxanne give it to Evan was infuriating.
"Sophia, it's mine—I can give it to whoever I want. Evan is my fiancé; what's wrong with giving him something?" Roxanne suddenly burst out with a feisty attitude that left Evan amazed.
"You... you... just wait!" Sophia ran off in anger, unable to stand being here another second.
Elder Tim Lin and Damon Lin exchanged a few polite words with Dominic Chu before leaving with Roxanne. As Roxanne departed, Evan saw tears glimmering in her eyes, and his heart was deeply moved.
Looking at the blue jade pendant in his hand, Evan silently vowed, "Roxanne, I will definitely find the Iceflame Crystal for you. Wait for me!"
At that moment, Dominic Chu walked up to Evan. "Son, everyone's left—why are you still standing here? Come to my study, I have something to ask you!"
Evan followed Dominic into the study. He remembered he hadn't entered this room for almost two years. The furnishings were just as he recalled, and a lifelike portrait of a woman still hung on the wall.
Evan had asked Dominic countless times who the woman in the portrait was, but Dominic never answered—he only said that Evan would know when the time was right.
"Son, it's been almost two years since you last came to this study. I’ve seen every grievance you’ve suffered during this time."
"Although I’m the head of the family, there are many things I can't decide on my own. I have my own difficulties—like the engagement with the Lin Family." Dominic said helplessly.
"I don't understand, Dad. Is there actually someone in the clan you’re afraid of?" Evan asked, puzzled.
"Sit down. The Chu Family’s situation isn’t as good as you think. Of the five great families in Flowing Cloud City, ours is actually the weakest."
"The other four families all have Earth Martial Realm experts, but our highest is only Ninth Level of the Profound Martial Realm. The marriage alliance with the Lin Family was a last resort."
