Because You Are My Mentor

Grace took it, stunned, then hugged it tightly with a look of relief and exclaimed, "This is great! You actually got it back! I didn't lose the Alchemist God's manuscript after all!"

Jun Lionhead watched her delight and smiled faintly.

"Master..." Grace gazed at him with eyes full of admiration. "So I've actually apprenticed myself to an immortal..."

Jun Lionhead chuckled and said, "Keep the Ten Wilds Herbal Codex safe. From now on, be careful in everything you do, and don't reveal anything from it so easily."

"Okay!" Grace stowed the Ten Wilds Herbal Codex back into her space and bowed respectfully to Jun Lionhead. "Master, thank you so much for saving my life!"

Jun Lionhead looked at her and asked, "Your master has nothing, is all alone, with no ties or attachments. Why are you willing to give him something so precious? And even risk your life to save me?"

"Because you're my master!" Grace blurted out.

Jun Lionhead was silent for a moment, then said, "Go check on those two. I gave them medicine, so they should be fine now."

...

Thanks to Jun Lionhead, Rina Chu and Lucas Hua were both out of danger.

Sadly, the other three Falcon Team members could not be saved.

In a quiet spot, Rina Chu whispered to Grace, "That Nina Sanders is most likely from the Qilin Divine Clan."

"Why do you think so?"

"The Qilin Divine Clan is a fire clan, and they're masters of fire. Among all the humans I've met, none can manipulate fire so skillfully."

After a pause, she added, "And he said his surname is Quinn. Quinn is the royal surname of the Qilin Divine Clan."

Grace's heart skipped a beat.

If that's true, why do they want the Ten Wilds Herbal Codex?

Could it be that there's something in it they need?

Grace opened the book and searched through it carefully.

But she found nothing related to the Qilin Divine Clan.

Maybe Rina Chu was just overthinking.

As members of the Divine Race, they've already transcended birth, aging, sickness, and death. Why would they care about a human medical book?

After seven days of 'closed-door cultivation,' Evan Xiao finally emerged.

Sure enough, he had broken through to Spirit Master Tier Three, and his cultivation looked even stronger than before.

Meanwhile, under Grace's care, Minister Zhuo also recovered.

Last time, Evan Xiao had already explained to Minister Zhuo that he wasn't the one who hurt him.

But Minister Zhuo was still full of doubts about him.

So, after Evan Xiao emerged, Minister Zhuo invited him to his home, ready to question him thoroughly.

Grace figured her dad could handle the shock, so she didn't stop them.

So Evan Xiao arrived at Minister Zhuo's study, ready for a private talk.

Knowing he was there, Grace hid outside the window to eavesdrop.

She couldn't help it—she was dying to know what kind of demon Evan Xiao really was.

She also wanted to see how her dad would react if he found out Evan Xiao was some kind of Demon King.

"So, what's your deal exactly?" Minister Zhuo asked. "Do you actually want to marry Grace or not?"

"Of course I do," Evan Xiao replied. "Father-in-law, the reason I've been putting off the wedding is because... Marriage is a big deal, a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I want to marry her properly, not just rush it."

"What do you mean, 'just rush it'?" Minister Zhuo frowned.

"Actually, I'm not an orphan," Evan Xiao said. "My parents and family are still alive. If we're going to get married, I should inform my parents and host the ceremony at home, announce it to everyone—that's how you do a proper wedding."
