Feigning Illness, Even a Cornered Rabbit Bites

According to Lance Quinn's prediction, Serena Feng wasn't supposed to wake until the next morning, but unexpectedly, she was jolted awake in the middle of the night.

Mira Tang came to take over Jada Tang's shift. Seeing Jada slumped in the chair, her expression changed and she immediately became alert.

Mira hurried forward to check on Serena Feng. Seeing that Serena's breathing was steady and her complexion had improved, she finally let out a sigh of relief.

It was a relief that nothing was wrong—if anything happened to Miss Serena, even dying a hundred times wouldn't be enough to atone. But as Mira reached to straighten Serena's bedding, she suddenly noticed blood staining her underclothes. Panicked, Mira quickly threw back the covers, only to find Serena soaked in blood from head to toe...

"Ah...!" Mira screamed in terror. Her cry not only startled Jada awake, but also alarmed the Imperial Guards outside, who came pounding towards the inner courtyard.

"What happened?" Jada jerked awake, leaping from the chair. Her face was tense, all her usual calm gone.

"Miss, Miss, she..." Mira couldn't even get a full sentence out.

She was covered in blood, her face still peaceful—Serena's condition was terrifying. Mira was no coward, but she didn't dare reach out to undress Serena, afraid of what mutilated wounds might lie beneath.

If something happened to Serena, it would be their failure!

Jada's face turned pale as she rushed forward. First, she checked Serena's breathing—when she found Serena was still alive, she let out a huge sigh of relief. If Serena died, they wouldn't escape death either.
