Max Mo looked at Cecilia Gu, smiled gently, and left the estate.
After seeing the guest off, Cecilia Gu finally felt she could breathe a sigh of relief.
Just as Cecilia Gu turned to leave, Charles Yin suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her in front of him. He leaned down, their bodies almost pressed together.
Cecilia Gu was startled. "What are you doing?"
Charles Yin gave a devilish smile. "Isn't that what I should be asking you, my wife?"
Looking into Charles Yin's eyes, Cecilia Gu's instincts told her he was becoming more and more dangerous!
It would be best to run as far away as possible.
But her wrist was in his grip, and there was no way she could get away!
"Wh-what are you talking about? I don't understand!" Cecilia Gu struggled a couple of times, but when she realized she couldn't break free, she said in defeat, "I don't get what you mean!"
"Then let's go to the room so you can understand what I mean..." Charles Yin scooped her up in a princess carry before Cecilia Gu could resist, striding off toward the study.
The assistants looked at each other, then quickly lowered their heads, none daring to say a word.
Does the boss and his wife really need to pick a time to be affectionate?
Charles Yin kicked open the study door with Cecilia Gu in his arms, strode in, and tossed her onto the bed!
Before Cecilia Gu could react, Charles Yin was already leaning over her!
"Charles Yin!" Cecilia Gu panicked. "It's broad daylight, are you..."
"Cecilia Gu!" Charles Yin suddenly gripped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "Remember this! You're my woman. Don't even think about touching another man!"
Cecilia Gu was completely held by the chin and couldn't break free.
She tried to punch him, but her arms were too short to reach Charles Yin. All she could do was desperately hit his arm to show her resistance.
Charles Yin just watched Cecilia Gu, watching her struggle helplessly under his grip.
Strangely, he didn't feel happy at all!
Cecilia Gu was so angry at Charles Yin that tears started streaming down her face.
What was with this guy today?
So strange!
Seeing Cecilia Gu's tears, Charles Yin felt a faint ache in his heart. He quickly let go and reached out to wipe her tears away.
Annoyed, Cecilia Gu wiped the tears from her cheeks and tried to get up from the bed, only to realize Charles Yin was still pressing down on her.
"Ridiculous." Cecilia Gu glared at Charles Yin fiercely.
Ever since they returned from the Gu family, Charles Yin seemed like a different person.
He was so unfamiliar it was scary.
Maybe this is who he really is?
The person he was before was just too good at pretending!
Charles Yin stared intently at Cecilia Gu. His teasing look faded, and for once, his eyes became serious.
He raised his hand and gently stroked Cecilia Gu's fair, delicate face, his fingers brushing over her warm lips.
That touch, somehow, made him feel bewitched...
"Cici..." Charles Yin's gaze grew hotter as he looked at Cecilia Gu, making her forget her anger and tears for a moment as she gazed up at him.
Cecilia Gu had no idea what Charles Yin wanted to say. But somehow, the atmosphere felt off...
What was he going to say?
"I..." A fire suddenly ignited in Charles Yin's heart, a voice in his mind screaming: Tell her! Tell her you like her!
Cecilia Gu looked at Charles Yin in surprise, still completely confused.
"Actually, I..." Charles Yin swallowed hard. He hadn't said these words in a very, very long time.
How could he possibly say it out loud?
Cecilia Gu's surprised expression was deeply imprinted in Charles Yin's mind.
"I li..." Charles Yin was just about to say it when there was a knock at the door.
Charles Yin snapped back to reality!
Cecilia Gu immediately called out, "Who is it?"
"Charles..." Lydia Lin's sweet voice came from outside the door. "I have something to say to you alone. Can you give me a chance?"
Then Rona Muir's voice followed, "Sorry, I couldn't stop her."
Charles Yin quickly rolled away from Cecilia Gu, and she sat up on the bed, dazed.
"Come in," Charles Yin said coldly.
The study door was pushed open the next second.
Lydia Lin and Rona Muir walked in together.
Lydia Lin's gaze landed on the bed, the sheets messy. What had they just been doing?
Lydia Lin's fingers clenched into fists, her teeth gritted, eyes blazing as she stared at Cecilia Gu.
You liar!
Didn't you say there was nothing between you and Charles Yin anymore?
Then what were you doing just now?
Cecilia Gu, you forced me into this!
Don't blame me for being ruthless!
Rona Muir, of course, noticed the messy bed too, but she was actually quite happy.
She just couldn't stand Lydia Lin. The more upset and crazy Lydia got, the happier Rona Muir felt!
"What do you want to say? Who allowed you to come here?" Charles Yin's eyes turned cold. He hadn't even had a chance to settle things with her, and she had the nerve to show up first!
"I'll step out," Cecilia Gu said, turning to leave.
Charles Yin was about to call Cecilia Gu back, but then he remembered how he'd bullied her just now. Never mind, better to let her go and calm down.
To Cecilia Gu, Charles Yin's action meant he was admitting there were things between him and Lydia Lin that she wasn't allowed to know.
Makes sense.
What right did she have to know?
After all, they were the ones who had truly loved each other.
She was just an intruder taking someone else's place.
Cecilia Gu pulled Rona Muir along and left the study, closing the door behind them.
"What else do you want to say? How much do you want?" Charles Yin asked impatiently.
To Charles Yin, Lydia Lin only clung to him for money.
He wasn't wrong!
Lydia Lin was so upset by his words she almost burst into tears. She tried to grab Charles Yin, but he dodged her without giving her a chance to touch him.
Except for Cecilia Gu, if any other woman touched him, he'd only feel disgusted!
"Charles, how can you say that about me? Am I that kind of woman? Charles! I really can't let you go!" Lydia Lin saw him avoiding her, but she didn't rush to get close. As long as she could get rid of his disgust for her, she wouldn't be afraid of replacing Cecilia Gu!
Charles Yin looked at Lydia Lin with a mocking expression. "Cecilia Gu might be naive, but I'm not. I know all your tricks! Dina—no, Lydia Lin! Because we used to date, I haven't made things too hard for you. But my patience has its limits!"
Lydia Lin saw the icy look in Charles Yin's eyes and couldn't help but shiver. "Charles, you weren't like this before! You said you'd wait for me! You even went against Chairman Yin for me, and you refused to marry early because of me. Charles, we used to love each other so much. How can you just forget me? I admit I did something stupid. I just cared about you too much!"
"You only care about yourself, don't you?" Charles Yin sneered.
Charles Yin suddenly felt his former self was laughable.
He used to think Lydia Lin was special.
Turns out, she was just especially shameless!
Those other women from before, as long as they got some benefits, never dared to cling to him again.
But Lydia Lin was really shameless!
She took the breakup money, and now she still wanted to come back and cause trouble!
Lydia Lin was blocked by Charles Yin.
Charles Yin pulled up a chair and stretched out his long legs. "Didn't you say you had something to tell me? There's no need to repeat yourself! If you don't have anything new to say, you can leave."
"Charles, you can't treat me like this! We were in love once!" Lydia Lin panicked. What could she say now? All she could do was beg.
"It's only because you once gave me a big gift that I've let you stick around this long," Charles Yin sneered. "Otherwise, do you think I'm that easy to deal with? Your time's up. If you can't say something that satisfies me, get out!"
Before Lydia Lin could react, Charles Yin pressed a button.
The next second, Xiao A came in, and without a word, dragged the crying, unwilling Lydia Lin out.
To Charles Yin, this was nothing worth mentioning, so of course there was no need to tell Cecilia Gu.
After Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir left, Cecilia apologized to Rona, "Sorry, I wanted you to stay and have fun, but I didn't expect all this to happen."
Rona Muir shook her head. She'd seen this sort of thing plenty of times before!
"We'll have to head back soon. The weather's nice today. Want to go to the flower market with me to relax a bit?" Rona Muir smiled at Cecilia Gu. "You can come over for a drink at my place too."
Cecilia Gu was stunned. She hadn't expected Rona Muir to invite her so proactively.
"I see you as a friend," Rona Muir added. "But don't worry, even though my boobs are way bigger than that woman's, I'm not the type to stab a friend in the back."
Cecilia Gu's eyes grew hot, and she couldn't help but smile. "Sure!"
Even though they'd seen the worst sides of each other, neither minded.
Maybe this was fate.
Sure enough, not long after, Charles Yin gave the order to head home!
Cecilia Gu glanced at Lydia Lin, who stood nearby, wanting to speak but too afraid to approach. She said to Charles Yin, "I've already made plans with Rona to go to the flower market, so I won't ride with you."
Rona Muir nodded, indicating she'd driven over herself.
Charles Yin's eyes flickered, but he nodded. "Alright! Let Xiao A go with you."
Cecilia Gu shook her head. "No need, I'm going to relax, not look for trouble. Having Rona with me is enough."
