Cindy Nang immediately nodded at those words. Her whole squad quickly converged on the hotel, each one unleashing their Void Realm aura—clearly, they were planning to strike first.
"Danger!" Watching from a distance, Ryan Ling instantly sensed something off—the whole setup was way too simple. It was obviously a trap laid by the Japanese agents, baiting Cindy out for a counterattack.
Ryan spotted the danger and instantly flashed forward, ready to save them.
He didn’t have much of a relationship with Cindy, but since her squad was fighting the Japanese, there was no way Ryan would let anything happen to them.
Sure enough, just as Cindy’s team surrounded the top-floor presidential suite, the entire suite exploded with a thunderous blast. But this wasn’t any ordinary explosion—it was powered by special Void-core-destroying explosives. Any Void Realm cultivator caught in it would die slowly, their bodies rotting away within three days even if they survived the initial blast.
That’s how ruthless the Japanese agents were!
Cindy’s squad instantly sensed the danger, but her subordinates were so loyal they formed a human shield in front of her to block the blast. Even so, just one spark from inside was enough to be fatal!
At that moment, regret flooded Cindy’s face—she was clearly too young and had fallen right into the Japanese trap!
But Ryan didn’t hesitate for a second. He’d already seen through the whole setup. Without delay, he hurled out the Dragon Scale. With this kind of vicious trap, Ryan could use his wood-element Immortal defenses to dodge most of the blast himself, but there was no way he could save everyone.
So in that moment, he could only throw out the Dragon Scale. The Dragon Scale had the power to tear open space itself—Ryan had already figured out most of its secrets over the past few days, and now was the perfect time to use it.
Right on cue, the Dragon Scale unleashed its power—a flash of golden light swept out, and in an instant, everyone was teleported away. Ryan was careful, though: he also released some Void Realm flesh scraps from the Hell Furnace to throw off the Japanese agents.
......
"What just happened? How did we end up here?"
"Weren't we just caught in an explosion? How did we suddenly get moved dozens of miles away?"
"Did some expert save us?"
......
Some of Cindy's subordinates were stunned. The hotel’s top floor, miles away, was blown to bits—police sirens were blaring everywhere, and the whole area was chaos.
"Who was it?" Cindy herself was shocked. She never expected there’d be a powerhouse hiding on little Sansha Island.
"I’m the one who saved you!" Ryan had no reason to hide anymore. Since he was helping them wipe out the Japanese, he might as well do it openly—and besides, he could learn plenty of secrets from Cindy, which would help him understand Sansha Island.
"Y-you?" Cindy was so shocked to see Ryan walk out of the trees, her jaw nearly hit the floor.
The other subordinates instinctively drew their swords.
"What, I save you guys and you still want to kill me?" Ryan sneered. He let out a hint of his Foundation-Building aura, and suddenly none of them could even draw their swords.
"You really aren’t ordinary!" Cindy took a deep breath, feeling Ryan was even more mysterious. She tried her old trick again: "How about joining our team?"
"Join you guys? You’re so clueless you walked right into the Japanese trap—what, you want me to jump in with you next time?" Ryan shot them a look.
"Who are you calling clueless? Say that again!" Cindy, ever the face-conscious one, went red and started stomping her foot.
"You," Ryan replied mercilessly. "Those Japanese agents are way smarter than you. I bet they spotted you long ago—left a fake flaw just to bait you in. You didn’t even bother checking if it was real, just charged in headfirst. If I’m being honest, you’re way too green!"
"The master’s right—it was my fault for being careless. Thank you for the lesson!" The subordinate who’d urged the charge quickly apologized.
"See, you actually know how to be polite. Admit your mistakes and you’ll go far—unlike some people, who refuse to admit they were clueless!" Ryan finished, and Cindy immediately stomped over, fuming.
"Don’t listen to him. We just made a little slip-up, nothing major. Next time we’ll definitely wipe out the Japanese nest!" Cindy was getting more and more annoyed—her face was practically turning green.
"Miss, we owe this brother big time. For our next move, maybe we should listen to his advice?" the subordinate quickly suggested.
"Listen to him? What ideas could he possibly have? Let’s go." Cindy refused to give in at all.
"Miss, it’s not right to just walk off—he did save us!" The subordinate, a bit thin-skinned, quickly reminded her.
"You—whose side are you on, anyway? Hurry up and come with me! You’re driving me crazy!" Cindy stomped her foot again, but this time a sharp pain shot through her shoulder and she couldn’t help but cry out.
"Crap, there’s poison on your shoulder!" Ryan saw wisps of white smoke rising from Cindy’s shoulder and immediately got serious.
All her subordinates turned pale. They all knew just how deadly the Japanese poison was—once you got touched by it, you were as good as dead.
For a moment, even Cindy—usually so proud—was at a complete loss.
"Master, please save our Miss!"
"Please save her! You’re the only one who can do it—we’re begging you!"
"If you save her, I’ll be your servant for life!"
......
"Alright, enough kneeling. I can save her, but the real question is whether your Miss is willing!" Ryan joked on purpose.
Cindy bit her lip hard—he’d seen right through her pride. But she had no choice; the poison was way too fierce. Her arm was already numb and the venom was creeping toward her chest.

"Miss, your life matters more!" The subordinate quickly looked to Cindy.
Even Cindy, as proud as she was, silently nodded.
"Master, our Miss agrees. Please, you must save her—the Nang Family of Yan Capital will repay you handsomely!" Her subordinates, ever loyal, knelt again.
"Alright, alright, get up—I’m getting a headache from all this kneeling!" Ryan said, grabbing Cindy. She frowned and looked uncomfortable, but had no choice but to let Ryan take charge.
The rest of her subordinates glanced at each other and all stood up.
"Alright, you guys head back. I’ll take her for treatment—this isn’t the right place to heal!" Ryan said, getting ready to leave with Cindy.
"Master, but… should we come along and help?" one of the subordinates asked.
"If you don’t trust me, just take your Miss and go!" Ryan said impatiently.
"We trust you—totally! Please, do as you see fit!" Ryan snorted, then vanished with Cindy, leaving her subordinates stunned. His movement technique was so insane, they’d never seen anything like it.
A second later, Ryan arrived at Dragon Huifen’s house with Cindy. Right now, Huifen’s place was definitely the safest—no one would suspect anything here. Plus, Ryan realized Huifen’s house sat at the highest elevation around; Cindy must’ve picked it to spy on the Japanese agents. Now that the Japanese thought all their enemies on Sansha Island were wiped out, they’d start moving boldly. This was probably the best chance to strike back.
"Mom, Uncle’s back—and he’s carrying Sis! Hehehe!" Xiaoru was playing in the yard. When she saw Ryan carrying Cindy, she giggled with delight.
"Put me down—now!" Cindy’s face flushed red as she protested.
"Put you down? Can you even walk? That Japanese poison’s already reached your legs—unless you want to crawl inside!" Ryan retorted.
Cindy was mortified, but she couldn’t argue with him.
"Brother, alright, tonight I’ll make you something extra tasty—maybe you’ll finally seal the deal!" Dragon Huifen joked, bursting into laughter.
