Reunion

12/19/2025

As Miles Phantom sent his message, Edward Carter had already spotted Joe Di and walked over.

Edward Carter's cultivation was around the sixth level of the Transforming True Stage, not weaker than Shu Haolan. Walking beside Edward were two men and a woman. Joe Di recognized two of them: Jade Carter and Miles Young. Both Jade Carter and Miles Young were at the early Void God Realm, progressing quickly. But compared to Joe Di, their speed was still far behind. The other man, though looking no older than Miles Young, had already reached the Seabreaker Realm.

In this place, with Miles Phantom by his side, Joe Di felt no fear toward Edward Carter. Moreover, he had completely refined the pocket world, and the outside was sealed with his own ninth-level restrictions. Even if he put his hand in front of Edward Carter, the latter might not notice the pocket world on his finger.

"Father, that's him! He is Joe Di!" Jade Carter shouted, pointing at Joe Di as soon as she saw him.

Edward Carter had only just arrived at Little Central World, spending nearly all the years since the sky curtain closed on the road. Even he hadn't expected that it would take years before he could see Joe Di below Little Central Star.

If he had known earlier that Joe Di would come to Little Central World, he could have just teleported here, instead of going through all the trouble of traveling to Sheye Continent and then finding a way from there to Little Central World.

Even without Jade Carter's reminder, Edward Carter had already recognized Joe Di. He stood before Joe Di, his divine sense brazenly sweeping over Joe Di.

At this moment, Lord Goldwin was explaining that before Little Central Star opened, all cultivators entering it would be protected.

Suddenly, Joe Di cupped his fists and shouted, "Senior Lord Goldwin, as I am about to enter Little Central Star, I am listening to your words. Yet someone is shamelessly using divine sense to probe everything about me—even through my clothes!"

Although Edward Carter's divine sense couldn't penetrate Joe Di's clothes at all, Joe Di still shouted out loud.

In the cultivation world, using divine sense to sweep through someone's clothes is a mortal offense, the act of a universally despised villain. The Five Grand Sect Masters dared to do this to Faye Dee only because they were powerful and the Di Family couldn't retaliate, nor even speak out, and also because Faye Dee couldn't detect their divine sense.

Edward Carter was shocked. He hadn't expected Joe Di to be so bold as to interrupt Lord Goldwin. But before he could explain, a clear, giant hand grabbed him. Despite being a Transforming True Stage sect master, Edward Carter couldn't avoid that hand.

The giant hand grabbed Edward Carter and threw him aside. Then Lord Goldwin's cold voice echoed, "Out!"

Edward Carter was like a severed kite, flung away by that hand and crashed into a huge stone stele at the edge of the square. The stele remained intact, but Edward Carter spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed weakly on the ground.

Jade Carter and the others hurried over to protect Edward Carter.

If someone else disciplined Edward Carter, maybe they'd want to get back at them. But when Lord Goldwin of the True Domain punished Edward Carter, all they could do was accept their misfortune—they didn't dare utter a word of complaint.

"Father! It's all my fault..." Jade Carter cried anxiously.

Edward Carter coughed up another mouthful of clotted blood, finally feeling a bit better. "It's not your fault. I underestimated him. So powerful..."

No one knew whether he meant Joe Di was powerful, or Lord Goldwin.

Joe Di also drew a sharp breath, thinking the same words—so powerful. He truly felt Lord Goldwin's strength. Edward Carter was a Transforming True expert and a sect master of a top sect, yet before Lord Goldwin, he couldn't even resist and was thrown out instantly. No wonder even Miles Phantom showed absolute respect before Lord Goldwin.

Although Joe Di took advantage of Lord Goldwin, he knew this was a risky move. To openly use Lord Goldwin like this—if the domain lord didn't hold it against him, that would be odd. But Joe Di also understood: even if he hadn't taken advantage, Lord Goldwin would remember him anyway. The golden-haired man hadn't acted against him yet only because he valued his reputation. Since that was the case, Joe Di might as well use the opportunity.

Sean Zell stepped onto the square beneath Little Central Star and instinctively stopped. He saw Edward Carter being thrown out—and not just thrown out, but gravely injured.

"You?" Edward Carter also saw Sean Zell. Sean Zell's cultivation was several levels lower, yet he had escaped from Edward Carter's grasp.

That wasn't the main point—the real issue was how Sean Zell managed to reach Little Central Star. After all, he had used several talismans and spent a year or two to get here. No matter what, he couldn't let this third-level Transforming True cultivator escape again.

Even though Edward Carter was severely wounded, the moment Sean Zell saw him, he was ready to flee—he saw the killing intent in Edward Carter's eyes. But he stopped himself; if he ran, those following him would be doomed.

"Brother Joe..." Garrett was the first to spot Joe Di and called out in delight.

It wasn't that his divine sense was stronger than Sean Zell's, but because he was familiar with Joe Di—Sean Zell had never met Joe Di before.

Hearing Garrett's words, Sean Zell finally noticed Joe Di and exclaimed with joy, "Let's hurry over!"

Lord Goldwin had finished speaking. The leaders of several major sects and the Destiny Guild ascended the round platform to begin distributing the jade tokens for entry into Little Central Star.

Joe Di also saw Garrett, happily greeting him, "Garrett, what brings you here?"

Then he understood—Garrett must have received his message and found the teleportation array at the Darkstar Ruins on Evernight Continent.

"Brother Joe, I finally found you!" Garrett was the happiest to see Joe Di; to him, Joe Di was his only family.

After greeting Garrett, Joe Di greeted Violet Zane, Jade Yu, Tyler He, Shannon Wei, and the others. As for Sean Zell, he didn't know him at all.

Though Violet Zane and the others, like him, had come from Earth to Celestia and then to Evernight Continent, in Joe Di's heart, his bond with Garrett was much deeper than with the rest.

"Brother Joe, thank you for saving my life outside the sky curtain." Tyler He said gratefully. Outside the sky curtain, Joe Di not only saved him but also gave him the qualification to enter the sky curtain. Otherwise, his cultivation wouldn't have progressed so quickly.

"Brother Joe, I'm sorry for what I said back on Earth." Violet Zane stepped forward and bowed to Joe Di.

"It's fine, let bygones be bygones. Now that you've all come here, let's go together to Little Central Star and try our luck." Joe Di waved his hand, having long forgotten what happened back then.

"Ah... Senior Brother Joe, can we go to Little Central Star too?" Shannon Wei exclaimed in surprise.

Joe Di nodded to Shannon Wei. "Junior Sister Wei, we'll talk about this later."

After saying this, Joe Di stepped in front of Sean Zell and bowed. "Thank you, Senior, for taking care of my friends and bringing them to Little Central World."

Though no one told him, Joe Di had already guessed that Garrett and the others must have come with Sean Zell—he was the only Transforming True expert here. Otherwise, even if Garrett's group had found his teleportation array, they couldn't have arrived so quickly.

Even if they had managed to teleport over, safely reaching the square beneath Little Central Star wouldn't have been easy.

"Haha..." Sean Zell laughed heartily. "I was right about you. My name is Sean Zell, a Transforming True cultivator from Sheye Continent. I've been searching for you for years, and finally, I see you here at Little Central Star."

Joe Di's careful thinking did not disappoint Sean Zell. If Joe Di were only talented but weak in other areas, Sean Zell would have been disappointed. In the cultivation world, no matter how gifted a genius is, without the ability to protect themselves, their path leads only to death.

After greeting Jade Yu again, Joe Di introduced Miles Phantom to everyone.

"Brother Joe, Sherry Jing was taken away by that woman. If only we could all go to Little Central Star together." Garrett, oblivious to the situation, brought up Sherry Jing after the pleasantries.

"Sherry Jing?" Joe Di asked in confusion. Was Sherry Jing married? Why did Garrett call her sister-in-law?

Sean Zell, shrewd and experienced, immediately sensed something odd from Joe Di's confusion. Logically, Sherry Jing was Joe Di's wife, so when Garrett mentioned 'sister-in-law,' Joe Di should have understood.

Shannon Wei quickly explained, "Senior Brother Joe, that's Senior Sister Sherry Jing. After you rescued us in the sky curtain and didn't come out, she said she'd guard your memory for life..."

Actually, she wasn't very clear about the relationship between Joe Di and Sherry Jing.

Hearing Shannon Wei's words, Joe Di immediately understood. Inside the sky curtain, after saving Sherry Jing, Shannon Wei, Melody Qin, and the others, he hadn't escaped himself. Sherry Jing must have thought he'd died and felt guilty, so she wanted to become his widow.

The reason Sherry Jing said that was partly because she thought he was dead and couldn't repay her guilt, and partly because they had indeed gone through the wedding ceremony.

Thinking of this, Joe Di quickly asked, "Is Sherry Jing alright?"

He absolutely couldn't deny this. If he did, Sherry Jing would be doomed.

Before anyone could answer, someone on the round platform announced, "The sect jade tokens for entering Little Central Star have all been distributed. Now, cultivators with Fivefold Dao Tower points, please come forward to exchange for qualification jade tokens—every ten points can be exchanged for one token..."

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
