Sensing the Saint Maiden Again
Leon Zane bumped into Evan Xiao, squinting as he said, "That old monk is interesting! I can't see through his cultivation at all!"
Evan Xiao replied, "Me neither!"
"Master Sage Dao... Which faction is he from?" Leon Zane squinted, deep in thought.
"Don't you know Master Hugh Warren?" Evan Xiao asked.
"We've only met a few times. I don't know him at all."
"You should look into him thoroughly."
Leon Zane nodded.
"Your Highness, Cousin! I sense it again!" Bianca Whitefan suddenly widened her eyes.
"The Saint Maiden?" Leon Zane's expression grew serious.
"Yes!" Bianca Whitefan looked toward the crowd gathered around the Consecration Altar.
Her Proximity Rune was incredibly powerful—if the Saint Maiden came within a hundred paces of Colin Gu, she could sense it instantly.
"But there are still so many people here today!" Leon Zane said.
"Leon Zane, your job is to stall Colin Gu. Make sure he's the last one to leave!" Evan Xiao said in a low voice.
"Huh? How am I supposed to stall him?"
"Figure it out yourself!"
Leon Zane: "..."
"Bianca, you focus on sensing. I'll watch the crowd," Evan Xiao said. "If we spot someone whose presence makes the feeling disappear as they leave, we've found our Saint Maiden!"
"Got it! Understood!" Bianca Whitefan replied.
"Um..." Leon Zane wanted to say something else.
"Quit stalling and get to it!" Evan Xiao shot him a look.
Leon Zane bit his lip and walked away, glancing back every few steps.
Stall Colin Gu and make sure he's the last to leave... Why does he always get the hardest jobs?
How was he supposed to stall him?
If Colin Gu wanted to leave, what excuse could he use to make him stay?
Should he ask Bianca to use a Control Talisman on him?
No way!
That Master Sage Dao looked unfathomable—definitely not someone to mess with.
Should he go out to the Outer Court and cause a commotion?
But then no one else could leave either! How would they figure it out?
What if... he just knocked him out?
With all eyes on him and bodyguards everywhere, how was he supposed to throw a punch?
He was pacing around, racking his brains, when suddenly he saw Grace happily heading his way.
Leon Zane’s eyes lit up and he rushed over, dragging Grace off to a quiet corner.
"What are you doing?" Grace asked, confused.
"Come on, I've helped you more than once before. Can you do me a favor this time?"
"What kind of favor?"
"You know Bianca put a Proximity Rune on Colin Gu," Leon Zane explained. "Now, she's sensed the person we're looking for!"
"Oh? Who is it?" Grace asked, intrigued.
"As long as that person gets within a hundred paces of Colin Gu, Bianca can sense it."
Grace pondered for a while. "So you're saying, anyone here could be the one?"
"We're looking for a woman."
"How old is she?"
"Not sure."
If the Saint Maiden wanted to hide her appearance, she could be any age.
"So you don't know what she looks like, how old she is, or even her name? You just know she's a woman?"
"Mm-hmm."
Grace scratched the back of her head. "So what do you want me to do?"
"Stall Colin Gu, don't let him leave. Then, when guests start heading out, if Bianca's sense disappears, we'll know exactly who to focus on!"
"Stall him?"
"Exactly!"
"...Well, it's not impossible!" Grace blinked her big eyes. "But..."
"Just name your price! If I can do it, I'll agree to anything," Leon Zane said cheerfully.
"Really?" Grace raised an eyebrow.
"We've been at this for so long, finally found a clue—do you think I'm joking?" Leon Zane's forehead veins were popping.
