Salted Fish

A blazing fire whip slashed through the sky, racing forward at lightning speed.

In the blink of an eye, Yvette Locke's fire whip plunged down into the pitch-black darkness below her.

Moments later, the whip coiled around, and after a furious roar—

A figure was yanked straight into the air by Yvette's blazing whip.

"Let me go! You'll regret this!"

"I'm Grandmaster Victor Zhou's number-one disciple! How dare you treat me like this!"

Aiden Zhou struggled with all his might, but no matter how hard he tried, the fire whip coiled around him didn’t loosen one bit.

"Behave yourself!"

Yvette frowned at Aiden Zhou, whose hair had been scorched clean off, leaving only a shiny bald head. As she barked at him, she couldn’t help but let out a laugh.

"You look absolutely ridiculous—like a little monk."

Yvette looked at him, and as she said this, Aiden Zhou was so furious that smoke seemed to pour from his ears; his whole body trembled, and he wished he could break free from the fire whip and fight a hundred rounds.

Where is your master, Victor Zhou?

Evan Lin looked at the disheveled Aiden Zhou before him and asked calmly.

Liam Li, hanging nearby, saw Aiden Zhou’s hair burned clean off and himself dragged up, utterly powerless to resist. Despair filled his face—he looked as if he’d lost all will to live.

Where my master is—that’s not something you have the right to ask!

Aiden Zhou gritted his teeth: "I lost to you today, but give me time and I’ll train hard—one day, I’ll make you pay!"

That’s some backbone.

Evan Lin glanced at him.

He had barely finished speaking.

Kneel.

Yvette Locke kicked Aiden Zhou’s leg, making him kneel right in front of Evan Lin.

Aiden Zhou instinctively tried to stand up.

Evan Lin pointed at the air, and a ring of fire ignited three inches above Aiden Zhou’s head.

“Ah!”

As soon as Aiden Zhou stood up, his bare head bumped right into the fire ring.

The searing pain made Aiden Zhou’s whole body shudder. He cried out in shock and instinctively knelt down again.

“I’ll allow you to stand, if you’re willing to endure the pain. If you want to talk to me standing up, that’s fine.”

Evan Lin looked at him, his voice calm.

“Get up!”

“Aiden Zhou! You’re Grandmaster Victor Zhou’s disciple—how can you kneel while talking?”

Master Lin from Seacrest is really something—he’s making Aiden Zhou choose: dignity or comfort.

The onlookers saw the ring of fire hovering three inches above Aiden Zhou’s head and each showed a complicated expression.

“You think this is enough to make me kneel before you?”

Aiden Zhou knelt on both knees, staring fiercely at Evan Lin.

“Then stand up.”

Yvette Locke held her fire whip, looked at him, and grabbed his collar, hauling him up.

Aiden Zhou had just gotten to his feet.

His bald head immediately felt waves of searing heat.

“If you tell me to stand, I’ll just stand?”

Aiden Zhou broke free from Yvette Locke’s grip, switching from kneeling to sitting on the ground.
