Helping Out at the Company

1/4/2026

After the movie ended, the two of them walked out of the theater hand in hand.

Breathing in the fresh air outside, their thoughts gradually returned to reality.

If Lan Xiaomo in the movie could bravely give everything for love, why should I hold back?

Cecilia Gu took the initiative to slip her hand through Charles Yin's arm. Just as Charles glanced down at her, Cecilia looked up, and their eyes met in an instant.

A sense of tacit understanding began to quietly grow between them.

Charles Yin gazed down at Cecilia Gu, and in that moment, he felt a peace in his heart that he'd never known before.

After so many years fighting in the business world, he was used to being tough in public and lonely behind the scenes. He'd never imagined how wonderful it could feel to have someone by his side.

His first love from youth had already faded in his memory.

The reckless passion of his younger days was now tucked away deep in his memories.

He used to hold onto memories of his first love, but after Sylvia Ran came back this time, Charles Yin saw even more clearly how foolish he had been.

If Cecilia Gu had made a scene when Sylvia Ran returned, maybe she would have pushed Charles Yin back to Sylvia.

But Cecilia didn’t cry, didn’t make a scene, didn’t disturb anyone. Every day, she quietly handled her own affairs, not even planning to inform Charles Yin about them.

It was exactly Cecilia's calmness—or maybe her deliberate distance—that made Sylvia Ran's teary, fragile act seem so ridiculous.

Charles Yin had been in business for years; he could see right through these little tricks.

Of course he knew what Sylvia Ran felt for him, but he was even more aware of his own heart—and who he truly liked.

Did he even need to ask anymore?

The answer was already obvious!

Not fighting is, in itself, a kind of fight.

With her restraint and indifference, Cecilia Gu ultimately won Charles Yin's heart.

Charles Yin keenly sensed that Cecilia Gu was ready to run away—how could he possibly let that happen?

After spending the whole day out, Cecilia Gu kept insisting they shouldn't buy anything, but still ended up with a car full of little trinkets.

Cecilia carefully arranged all her spoils from the day on the back seat.

Charles Yin silently allowed Cecilia to claim her territory.

These cheap little things so boldly took over Charles Yin's sports car, worth 370 million.

By the time they got home, it was already nine o'clock.

As soon as Cecilia got out of the car, she saw Sylvia Ran waiting expectantly at the door, which made her smile.

Charles Yin held Cecilia's hand, happily bringing her home.

As they approached the door, Sylvia Ran's eyes lit up and she immediately said to Charles, "Charles, I made you some porridge..."

"Oh, you have it yourself. We already ate out," Charles replied casually.

Sylvia Ran's body stiffened instantly!

They... spent the whole day together?

Jealousy churned wildly in Sylvia Ran's chest. It took all her strength not to reach out and strangle Cecilia Gu!

Cecilia Gu!

Cecilia Gu!!

Why do you have to compete with me?

Didn't you have someone you liked before?

Why are you still fighting me for Charles?

Unforgivable!

A moment ago, Sylvia Ran was gritting her teeth, but the next second she turned around with a bright smile.

"What a shame, I spent all afternoon making it!" Sylvia purposely looked uneasy. "You used to love bird's nest porridge... I made it just the way you liked it before..."

"That was in the past. I don't drink bird's nest porridge anymore," Charles interrupted, his smile deep. "Now, my taste is all about Cecilia."

Maybe it was because they'd finally confessed their feelings, but when Cecilia heard Charles say that, she felt so vindicated!

Has he finally figured out the difference between love and friendship?

Rona Muir came out of her room and greeted Cecilia and Charles, "You two finally made it home. Look at how I’ve decorated the place—do you like it? Oh, by the way, earlier Max Mo sent over a pile of documents. I put them in your room! The study isn’t set up yet, Charles, since that’s your private space. You’ll have to get your assistant to arrange it, so for now, the files are in your room. I’ve changed the lock to fingerprint recognition so no one stumbles in by mistake at night."

Listening to Mona Mu’s barbed words, Sylvia Ran kept her face blank.

Cecilia was mentally cheering Mona on!

She really thought of everything!

Charles raised an eyebrow, "I got it."

Cecilia made a face at Mona, who immediately grinned back.

Standing at their bedroom door, Cecilia and Charles entered their fingerprints and set a password before going in.

Sure enough, the room’s setup was just how she liked it.

Cecilia nodded in satisfaction.

Charles picked up the documents on the table and said, "Looks like we’ll need a full staff meeting tomorrow!"

Cecilia asked casually, "Oh? Does that mean you’ll be busy? Need my help?"

Charles looked up at Cecilia, his smile pure and sincere. "I’ve been waiting for you to say that."

Cecilia and Charles exchanged a smile.

That night, neither of them slept well.

Even though Charles tried to restrain himself, he couldn’t help but want Cecilia again and again...

The next morning, Charles gently kissed Cecilia on the cheek to wake her.

Cecilia blinked sleepily, glanced at his handsome face right in front of her, and couldn’t help but mumble, "Morning..."

As soon as Cecilia arrived at the company, she saw the scene before her.

Everyone was dressed in matching uniforms, wearing their badges, and respectfully waiting in the lobby for the president’s address.

Cecilia felt completely overwhelmed.

Just one day!

In just one day, Charles Yin—the top boss—had spent time shopping and watching movies with her!

Yet his team had managed to finish all the preparations!

This level of efficiency was truly terrifying!

"Good morning, President! Good morning, Madam!" everyone greeted respectfully.

Cecilia jumped in surprise!

What?!

They all knew who she was?

How did that happen?

"Starting today, Cecilia will be my lead assistant and handle all logistics and administration. All company reports must go through her first," Charles announced as soon as he arrived, not caring one bit that his wife was taking on these responsibilities.

Hmph, this company belongs to me, Charles Yin. I can put whoever I want in any position!
