All Debts Cleared

2/14/2026

Lance Quinn was already injured, and now, struck heavily by Prince Terrence Valen, he couldn’t slow their fall while holding Serena Feng. All he could do was clutch her tightly, doing his utmost to shield her from harm.

If he was going to save her, he was going to see it through to the end—Lance Quinn never did things halfway. If he stepped in, he would make sure Serena Feng didn’t suffer a scratch.

The moment they began tumbling down, Serena Feng almost screamed in terror—but she forced herself to hold it in. She knew that panicking now wouldn’t help either of them; it would only distract Lance Quinn and make things worse.

Serena bit down hard on her lip, forcing herself to stay silent.

Lance Quinn noticed the woman in his arms was eerily quiet. At first, he thought she’d fainted from fear, but when he glanced down, he realized she was fighting to keep her terror under control.

A flicker of admiration flashed in his eyes—this woman was definitely something else. But just as quickly, his expression turned cold again.

“Stupid woman, you saved me once, now I’ve saved you once. Our debts are settled—don’t come asking me for gratitude or favors later.”

Lance snapped at the woman in his arms, deciding right then that at the Third-Month Peach Blossom Festival, he’d let her fend for herself.

Who told this woman to be so troublesome? She couldn’t keep still for a moment—if she wasn’t showing up at the Hsieh estate to meddle in the Wang and Hsieh family feud, she was entangled with the Wang clan’s young master.

No matter how you looked at it, she just wasn’t cut out for a quiet life.

Serena Feng, you think you’re clever, huh? I’ll have to see how you handle the traps those women have set for you at the Peach Blossom Festival.

It would be best if you’re utterly ruined and disgraced, unable to face anyone.

The more Lance Quinn thought about it, the angrier he became.

Because of this foolish woman, Serena Feng, not only did he let Prince Terrence Valen go, but he also got knocked down the slope by him.

No matter how you calculated it, Lance Quinn came out on the losing end.

Serena had just been moved by Lance Quinn’s rescue, thinking ancient men were truly chivalrous—if you saw injustice, you stepped in. In the modern world, she wouldn’t even dare dream of that.

Nowadays, a group of men could watch a thug assault a helpless woman and not lift a finger, let alone risk their lives to save her. But just as Lance Quinn finished speaking, all her goodwill vanished.

So much for chivalry—Lance Quinn only saved her because she’d stitched up his wound.

Just one rescue and that covered her medical fee—Lance Quinn really knew how to calculate, even worse than Vincent Su.

For the record, she, Serena Feng, had no grudge against that Terrence guy—she was dragged into this mess by Lance Quinn.
