Scapegoat Terry Xie

1/11/2026

Seeing the Immortal Tome fly of its own accord into Terry Xie's hand, the other Fusion ancestors all felt deeply frustrated—their chances of obtaining the inheritance had shrunk yet again.

"Branch Master Xie, since you've already obtained one Immortal Tome, you should withdraw from the next round of competition. Isn't it time for you to leave so everyone can be at ease?"

The Chen Ancestor spoke up. If anyone felt stifled here, it was surely the three clans, so even knowing Terry Xie’s cultivation was profound, his tone was not at all polite.

"Rest assured, since I've already obtained one Immortal Tome, I naturally won't compete for the other two!" Terry Xie promised. After all, he didn’t dare provoke the crowd’s wrath—if he angered these thirty Fusion experts, even if his six enshrined elders joined him, they’d die miserably.

But just then, another Immortal Tome shot out—moving so fast it instantly arrived in front of Terry Xie, and almost instinctively, he reached out and grabbed the second tome.

Seeing this, everyone else's faces turned green. Didn’t the Nine-Heavens Sage Lord’s projection say each person could only inherit one Immortal Tome?

"Branch Master Xie, hand over that Immortal Tome. It doesn’t belong to you!"

The Jin Ancestor shouted harshly. At the same time, she and the Chen and Ning ancestors moved in tacit coordination to surround Terry Xie, preventing his escape.

Terry Xie's thoughts raced. Although he’d promised not to compete for the other two tomes, this one had flown to him on its own. Besides, with the Battlefront Branch Altar destroyed, as branch master he’d surely be punished by the main altar, but if he presented the second Immortal Tome to headquarters...

An Immortal Tome was worth far more than a branch altar. Not only would he be blameless, headquarters would reward him handsomely. With that in mind, he decided he absolutely couldn’t give up the tome.

But right at that moment—

Whoosh!

The last Immortal Tome shot out from the wooden hut—and, unbelievably, it was heading for Terry Xie again.

In that instant, the Fusion experts couldn’t hold back any longer—they all lunged for the tome.

But just then, the Immortal Tome picked up speed, dodged everyone’s attacks, and landed right in front of Terry Xie.

“Is Heaven favoring me?”

Terry Xie paused for a split second, but grabbed the third Immortal Tome without hesitation. Then, his figure shot skyward—he was planning to escape right then and there.

With all three tomes in his hands, the Fusion experts of Battlefront were sure to go berserk. He couldn’t stay in Battlefront any longer—he could just take the tomes and head straight for the Prime One Church Main Altar.

He’d cultivate one himself, and present the other two to the Prime One Church Main Altar.

With two Immortal Tomes—such supreme arts—he’d already be eligible to compete for the sect master’s seat.
