A Formal Introduction

Rona Muir stepped uncertainly into the room. She glanced at the walk-in closet, already filled with daily necessities and brand-new clothes, and couldn't help but ask, "Is this room really for me?"

"Yes." Sean Kerr's personal assistant replied politely, "If you find anything unsuitable, just let me know. We have staff who regularly restock everything here."

Rona Muir reached out and touched those clothes she'd only ever admired but never bought for herself. "This is way too extravagant," she said.

The assistant just smiled. "Your things will only get better from now on. These are ready-made, anyone with money can buy them. In the future, your clothes will be custom-tailored, not just off-the-rack."

Rona didn't quite understand, thinking the assistant meant she'd become a key leader in the company. She immediately smiled and replied, "I'll take your word for it!"

After putting everything away, the assistant went off to tidy up Sean Kerr's room.

Rona sat dazed on the sofa for a long time before it hit her—her senior was really, really rich!

At noon, Sean Kerr changed his clothes and called Rona to join him for a lunch gathering.

Even in B City, Sean Kerr's entourage was impressive.

"There's a branch office here," Sean explained when he saw Rona's confusion. "Everything is arranged by the people from the local branch. I'll take you to meet two of my friends later. One is the heir of the Yin Consortium, just became president, and the other works in entertainment. Don't be nervous, they're both close friends of mine. We're here to look into acquiring a game company. All three of us have invested in it, so we're checking it out together. Charles Yin has a sharp eye for business—if he's interested in an industry, it's guaranteed to make money."

Rona just responded with a blank "Oh" and didn't say anything else.

She hadn't even gone to college yet, so it was only natural she didn't understand any of this business stuff.

Still, she couldn't help but wonder why Sean Kerr always told her about everything he was doing—she didn't get any of it!

When they arrived, someone was already waiting at the entrance to greet them.

Rona saw a friendly-looking young man smiling and nodding at her, and she couldn't help but smile back.

"A, are Charles Yin and Joe Qi here yet?" Sean Kerr greeted the man familiarly.

"Yes," A replied with a smile. "Mr. Yin and Mr. Qi are already here, just waiting for you."

"Great," Sean nodded. "Thanks for your help."

Rona suppressed her curiosity and followed Sean Kerr into the hotel, taking the elevator straight to the dining room entrance.

As soon as they entered, she saw an exceptionally handsome and striking man, talking quietly with a playboy.

These two must be the ones Sean Kerr just mentioned, right?

This is a dinner party for the super-rich heirs!

Is it really okay for me to tag along?

Rona Muir felt a bit unsure deep down.

"Charles, Joe." Sean Kerr walked over briskly and took the initiative to introduce, "This is my teacher's daughter, also my junior—Rona Muir. Rona, this is Charles Yin, and this is Joe Qi."

Charles Yin looked at Rona Muir in surprise, his long eyes narrowing slightly as he instantly understood Sean Kerr's intention.

How rare.

This is the first time Sean Kerr has ever brought a female companion to one of their gatherings. Clearly, this little girl holds a very special place in his heart.

Joe Qi, the prince among playboys, immediately spotted Rona Muir's strengths.

She’s still young and a bit inexperienced, but given time, she’ll surely become a stunning beauty who’ll turn heads wherever she goes.

Sean Kerr really knows how to spot talent early.

Is he serious about this?

Is he planning to raise her up himself?

No matter what Charles Yin and Joe Qi were thinking, both gave Sean Kerr face and greeted Rona Muir politely.

Rona Muir hadn’t expected Sean Kerr to introduce her so formally to the others—it felt almost too grand.

Although Charles Yin was only in his early twenties, he already exuded a unique personal charm.

When it came to strategic planning, his sharp edge and undeniable authority were already beginning to show.

Joe Qi, the playboy, rarely joined the discussion—he just handled the money, which gave him time to pay attention to Rona Muir.

"Miss Muir, what year are you in?" Joe Qi asked in a low voice.

"I’ll be a freshman after summer break," Rona Muir replied shyly.

Joe Qi smiled knowingly, "Sean Kerr is a good guy. He can be a bit soft sometimes, but when it comes to major decisions, he’s pretty clear-headed."

But who knows if he’s clear-headed when it comes to feelings.

Rona Muir smiled gratefully at Joe Qi. "Yeah, my dad said I should learn from my senior so that after graduation, I’ll have enough experience to find a good job."

Joe Qi couldn’t help but laugh.

Turns out Sean Kerr is the only one interested—Rona Muir doesn’t even know what he’s thinking!

That’s pretty interesting.

Good friends always help out. Since Sean Kerr likes this girl, of course Joe Qi has to lend a hand.

"Sean Kerr owns several companies. Pick any one, and your family can rest assured if you work there. I heard your father’s a professor?" Joe Qi slid a glass of milk over to Rona Muir. "You’re an adult now, but it’s better for girls not to drink alcohol. Milk is healthier."

"Thank you." Sensing Joe Qi’s kindness, Rona Muir accepted it with a sweet smile.

Joe Qi glanced at Sean Kerr, who was still deep in discussion with Charles Yin, and couldn’t help but sigh.

Such a great girl—how did she end up catching the eye of a puppy-like Sean Kerr?

Oh well, even if he’s a puppy... I’ll help this girl out a bit.

"Business management is a great major. Study hard, don’t worry about internships. Since your father’s a professor in the field, he probably hopes you’ll carry on his legacy and bring the discipline to new heights." Joe Qi lowered his voice, "Don’t worry, use Sean Kerr’s companies to practice. Even if you lose money, it doesn’t matter—he’s got plenty of assets. If a few go bankrupt, it’s no big deal. After you’ve practiced with a few companies, you’ll naturally learn the ropes."

Rona Muir chuckled, "Are you really my senior’s friend? Why do you keep teasing him?"

Joe Qi pretended to be helpless, "What can I do? My good buddy has never had a decent partner—he’s always working solo. That’s fine for a while, but even the toughest guy can’t keep it up forever! Look at Charles Yin, he runs the massive Yin Group, but he’s got plenty of talented people on his team. By the way, which of Sean Kerr’s companies are you working at now?"

"Odyssey." Rona Muir replied obediently.

"Oh, that company! Well, study hard and practice. If you need more funds, you’ve got friends like us." Joe Qi said kindly, "Hope to see you become a powerful businesswoman soon!"

Rona Muir was amused by Joe Qi, "I’ll take your good wishes!"

Sean Kerr noticed Rona Muir chatting happily with Joe Qi and suddenly felt a little uncomfortable. He coughed lightly, "Joe, this business is for all three of us. You should share your opinion, too."

Joe Qi immediately smiled.

Sean Kerr’s jealous, isn’t he?

Alright, that’s enough advice for now.

Joe Qi lazily said, "My views are pretty much the same as Charles Yin’s. This game company has a solid foundation, but the designer is lacking. I know a good designer who graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. I’ve seen his work—the character and weapon designs are very distinctive. Sean Kerr, if you have time, you should reach out to him."

"No problem," Sean Kerr nodded. "Let’s discuss how we’ll buy out the company first."

The whole day passed as the three of them discussed business.

Rona Muir didn’t join the conversation, but she realized that these rich people’s dinners were actually all about business—no one was just here to eat, drink, and have fun.

That’s the kind of thing only spoiled heirs do.

As heirs, every minute of their time was precious.

By evening, they finally came up with a final plan—Charles Yin would handle the negotiations.

And so, dinner finally ended.

Back at the hotel, Rona Muir couldn’t help but ask, "Since you’re all in Newport City, why didn’t you discuss this there instead of coming to Brighton City?"

"Plans can’t keep up with changes," Sean Kerr replied. "We originally planned to buy another game company, but when we came to the Brighton branch, we found this company had more potential and a lower acquisition price. Not only would it cost us less, but we’d also get extra resources. As businessmen, we always go for maximum profit, so we decided to meet in Brighton and focus our efforts on acquiring this company."

Sean Kerr didn’t hide anything from Rona Muir. He pulled out the draft acquisition plan and showed it to her, using a real case to teach her how to read a plan, negotiate, and control costs.

With Sean Kerr’s clear explanations, Rona Muir—who hadn’t even started college yet—quickly got the hang of it and realized she actually liked this field.

The whole summer vacation ended with Sean Kerr tutoring Rona Muir.

By the time college started, Rona Muir was no longer a total rookie. She still couldn’t match Sean Kerr as a businessman, but she was already a competent employee.

The day before college started, Sean Kerr handed Rona Muir a card. "This is your pay for the summer. From now on, your salary will be deposited here."

Rona Muir felt a little embarrassed. "I learned from you and you’re paying me? Isn’t that a bit much?"

"You should be rewarded for your work. Take it." Sean Kerr checked the time. "Come on, let’s go buy some supplies. The ones the school gives out aren’t good enough."
