Hundred Tribulations 16

Under the cold moonlight, Edward Grant grabbed Joseph Qiao by the collar, glaring angrily. People nearby hurried over, intending to pull them apart.

"Don't come over, Edward Grant. I'll say it again—if you keep treating the lives of our entire clan as a joke, no matter how many times, I'll keep saying it: stop being so stubborn. Before, Simon Grant's..."

Suddenly, Edward Grant shoved Joseph Qiao hard to the ground, his eyes filled with grief and anger.

"Don't mention that fool who died on his own in front of me. It was his own business, but now I, his elder brother, have to handle it. Everything I'm doing now—no one else has the right to interfere."

"Stop arguing."

Just as the two were red-faced and heated, an authoritative voice rang out.

"Mother."

Edward Grant called out. After Joseph Qiao stood up, he spoke respectfully.

"Queen Grant, I'm sorry, it was my..."

Queen Grant shook her head.

"No matter who's right or wrong, whose method is good or bad, whatever the leader decides, there will naturally be results in the future. And you? As a supporter, your job is to improve what the leader sets, not just insist that you're right. That does no good. Edward Grant, you're the same."

Edward Grant lowered his head and nodded.

The long winter finally ended. Day after day, Joseph Qiao diligently taught Yuna Grant. Although she was still as mischievous as before, sneaking out to play now and then, she studied very seriously.

As spring approached, Joseph Qiao returned to Woodfield. The land had already been prepared; as soon as spring arrived, sowing could begin. Now, Woodfield had expanded greatly, with people from the Lu and Qiao clans tirelessly cultivating, repaying the Grant family's kindness.

This year, he only came back five or six times. After Joseph Qiao returned to the clan, everything became much easier. He planned to go back to Grant Capital after sowing was finished.

"Haha, nagging Joseph Qiao is finally gone. Yay, I'm free!"

Joseph Qiao had just left Grant Capital when Yuna Grant jumped up with abandon. Lucille Xing was gone too, having gone south with Sophie Grant. Terry Mao and his siblings were also gone, and Leonard Lei had followed Joseph Qiao to Woodfield. Only Lona Long and Phoenix Yu were left to supervise Yuna Grant.

"Yuna, hurry up and practice. You've been playing in the snow all morning."

Lona Long dodged the snowball Yuna Grant threw, but soon Yuna happily started kneading the snow again.

"I want to make a snowman."
