Want to Run Leave Your Life Behind

Having made up his mind, Evan Chu continued forward, madly circulating Chaos Dragon Force within his body. At the same time, he followed the method for activating Unicorn Arm, slowly channeling Chaos Dragon Force into his right arm.

In the distance, the Divine Fire Centipede opened a single eye and glanced at Evan Chu, who was charging toward it. Then its massive body abruptly rose upright, making for a truly terrifying sight.

Its body towered dozens of meters high, with over a hundred antennae, each more than three meters long. At the tip of every feeler was a sharp spike, gleaming with a chilling, menacing light.

Evan Chu stopped about twenty meters away from the Divine Fire Centipede, feeling a chill in his heart at the sight of this giant monster. Compared to facing the Azure Spirit Drake, this was even more terrifying. If those antennae whipped out, they could probably shred a person to pieces in an instant.

“Lowly human, how dare you trespass on this king’s territory? You must have a death wish! It’s been ages since I’ve tasted human flesh. Since you’ve come to deliver yourself, I won’t be polite.” The Divine Fire Centipede spat out human words, its voice so raspy that Evan Chu’s hair stood on end.

“A mere bug dares call itself king in front of me? Guess every forest has its freaks. Today I’m taking your demon core, no matter what.” Evan Chu shot back, deliberately provoking it with an arrogant tone. The beast was so huge and had so many attack points that he didn’t know where to strike at first.

If he slipped up even a little, those antennae could injure him, so his only option was to rely on speed and wait for the right moment to deliver a heavy blow.

He gripped the Frostbane Sword tightly, but at this moment his right arm was swollen and aching. If the beast didn’t attack first, he’d have to risk making the first move himself.

The Divine Fire Centipede was instantly enraged by Evan Chu’s words. In ten thousand years, it had never been insulted like this. Its whole body trembled with fury, and its antennae whipped out, sending sand and rocks flying. The surrounding cliff faces were shaved down like tofu, stones constantly falling away.

Evan Chu saw that after the antennae swept past, the cliff stones were left smooth as mirrors, as if polished. He realized that the beast’s feelers were as sharp as divine weapons, fully capable of piercing his physical defenses. He absolutely couldn’t fight it at close range.

After whipping its antennae, the Divine Fire Centipede’s body instantly surged forward, closing more than ten meters toward Evan Chu. Its speed was nearly on par with Evan’s Shifting Position—what he saw was just a massive afterimage.

Just then, its mouth spewed out a jet of black mist at Evan Chu, instantly turning the surrounding air pitch black. A wave of nauseating stench assaulted him.

Even without being told, Evan Chu could tell how toxic the mist was—the cliffside plants withered instantly, proving just how deadly the poison was.

Evan Chu’s figure flickered as he shot into the air, skillfully dodging the poisonous cloud. He swung the Frostbane Sword with all his might, unleashing Heaven-Cleave. He wanted to see just how powerful Unicorn Arm combined with Heaven-Cleave really was.

A sword beam five meters long instantly transformed into a giant greatsword. The surrounding space trembled but didn’t split, while rocks kept tumbling down the cliffs, and thunderous booms echoed through the canyon.

The massive sword aura slammed straight into the Divine Fire Centipede. Maybe it sensed how dangerous this blow was, because its huge body twisted desperately, dodging a fatal head strike—but its torso and antennae still took the hit.

Heaven-Cleave was already terrifying on its own. In any other place, this canyon would have been flattened outright, but because of the Divine Battlefield’s special suppression, its power was greatly reduced. Even so, the strike was still monstrous—especially with Unicorn Arm’s brutal force layered on top, instantly chopping off dozens of the centipede’s antennae.

A bone-deep wound was left on its body, oozing foul black blood nonstop. The pain made it shriek wildly.

“Its defense really is insane. Even this kind of attack couldn’t kill it. If I get another clean shot, I might be able to cut it in half—but chances like this won’t come often,” Evan Chu muttered to himself.

His right arm was now completely drained, so Evan Chu hurriedly switched the Frostbane Sword to his left hand. Unicorn Arm was powerful, but having all the energy sucked out of his arm in one go was hard to bear.

“Linfeng, your strike has already dealt it a heavy blow. The Divine Fire Centipede grows one antenna every hundred years, and now it has over a hundred thirty, meaning it’s cultivated for at least thirteen thousand years.

But you just chopped off fifty-six of them, so with this one strike you’ve destroyed about half its combat power. Now it can’t really threaten you anymore,” the Sword Spirit said.

Evan Chu was startled. “Your eyesight’s that good? You can even count its antennae. Why bother worrying about that?”

“Are you pig-brained? The more antennae you destroy, the faster its strength drops. Even if you just use Earthsplitter, you can grind it to death. I really can’t with you,” the Sword Spirit snapped.

“So that’s how it is. I really have been slow lately. Looks like I’ve found the way to deal with this thing—let it taste my Heaven-Cleave again!” Evan Chu was delighted after hearing the Sword Spirit’s advice.

He flashed behind the Divine Fire Centipede, swinging his left hand in a swift sword strike. After learning to split his focus, Evan Chu could use martial techniques with both hands, and the power was the same.

Another fierce, domineering sword aura appeared, attacking the Divine Fire Centipede at lightning speed. The beast never imagined that this lowly human would be so strong—it twisted its body a full 180 degrees, using its remaining antennae to block Evan Chu’s strike.

“Boom!” Another tremendous crash echoed through the canyon, the reverberations startling countless demon beasts into howling. But this strike wasn’t as powerful as the last—it was actually blocked by the centipede.

Even so, another dozen antennae were severed, and the wound on its body was stretched longer. Evan Chu was knocked back dozens of meters by the backlash.

This attack made Evan Chu realize just how strong Unicorn Arm combined with Heaven-Cleave truly was—it was like tripling his power, a force not to be underestimated.

But now the Divine Fire Centipede dropped flat to the ground, its massive body scrambling to escape at incredible speed.

“Trying to run? Leave your life behind!” Evan Chu flashed above the Divine Fire Centipede, unleashing an Earthsplitter strike infused with the power of the five elements at the fleeing beast below…
